About the Audiofrog GB15
A big splash
A big splash
If you haven't heard of Audiofrog yet, here's what you need to know – there's no one like them. We know, because we put their speakers to the test, side by side with some of the most celebrated car speakers in car audio. Track after track, with music that spanned many genres, Audiofrog's speakers made our jaws drop.
It's no coincidence. Audiofrog was founded by car audio veterans, who have been on the front lines of audio innovation for 30 years and have a rich, colorful history of crafting award-winning, custom car installations. Drawing on that substantial experience and their practical knowledge of what makes a great speaker, Audiofrog has created a no-nonsense, high-quality car audio line. While their speakers will fit into a large number of vehicles, Audiofrog's emphasis is definitely on custom installations.
Audiofrog provides versatile mounting solutions for flush and behind-the-panel installation.
The toughest tweeters in town
Audiofrog's GB15 1-1/2" tweeter sits in your palm with the weight of a stone -- there's not one plastic part in this speaker. Cast zinc housing protects the polyester soft dome, which delivers impressive performance that's as lush and nuanced as live sound. A copper polepiece cap helps extend frequency response and reduce distortion, making this tweeter a tough one to beat.
Such an efficient design puts the GB15 near the top of its class in the realm of power handling, with a rating of up to 100 watts RMS. Add in Audiofrog's grueling standards for real world speaker testing, and you can trust that the GB15 will live a very long life in your car.
Built for custom installations
Audiofrog was founded by experienced installers, who know all the pitfalls and shortcuts of tweeter installation. The all-metal finish of the GB15's removable ring and tray can be polished, painted or upholstered, depending on your vision for your interior. The grilles are ideal for painting as well.
With this tweeter's unique metal mounting bracket, you'll find custom fabrication of pillar and sail panel pods much easier. The bracket's versatile straps provide for numerous installation scenarios as well. Without the mounting bracket, the GB15 will fit a standard sawhole cut. Audiofrog's unique threaded design for flush-mounting allows for the snuggest fit possible, complete with set screws to ensure the tweeter stays locked in position. Any way you install it, this versatile tweeter gives you the potential to gain the widest possible soundstage for total musical immersion.

Audiofrog GB15 reviews
These are great speakers. They are clear, clean and detailed. They are slightly bright though considering what they're made up of and the size. I had to turn the gain down.

Awesome! Not too bright and not too smooth, lol. If that makes sense. Very balanced. Very easy to eq. Very efficient. Lowered my gain levels 3 dB and another 1.5-2 db on most of the eq adjustments.

Unbelievable how great these sound. I paired these active with the GB60 and GB12 and the realism these add to the front stage is breathtaking. I have auditioned tweeters costing more but not sound any better. If you are even remotely disappointed with these than you did something wrong! Even though I paid a lot for these I feel like they were worth it.
Pros: Can cross really low and have awesome upper midrange. These do well mounted off axis in my dash corners. Easiest tweeters I have ever tuned.
Cons: Not as much sparkle as my GB10 but my GB10 are mounted on axis and these are not so considering that they are very good. Set screws need redesign. Expensive.

I'm really happy with the quality of Audio Frog products. These tweets give me all the detail I was missing from my stock speakers and more. They're smooth, has much clarity (I can make out words where I couldn't before), and the install pieces make it much easier to install.
Pros: They're high detailed in sound and they're not harsh by any means.
Cons: Price but also the size of these guys. Expect to do some customization. I chose this route over the smaller gb10 cause it's always fun to bondo and Fiberglass right?
