Build an Audiofrog system
The Audiofrog price tag sets its speakers apart from the run-of-the-mill but buys you astounding car audio. When they demo'd the GS Series at Crutchfield headquarters, I listened, slackjawed, fantasizing about a world where speakers this powerful and clear were installed in my car. I'd pair them with Audiofrog's GS10 tweeters and the optimized GS610C crossover system, but there's always the option of using active crossovers in a three-way system with GS40 4" midrange drivers. The beauty of Audiofrog's a la carte approach is that it imposes no limits on your ultimate car audio vision.
Team up this 6" midrange driver with an Audiofrog tweeter, and you'll hear a new world of music in your ride.
What a woofer
Audiofrog designed the GS60 6" woofer to deliver the midrange details in a custom component system. A responsive polypropylene cone provides high internal damping for smoother frequency response, and Audiofrog uses a 1" copper voice coil to enhance power handling.
Audiofrog was founded by experienced installers, who know all the pitfalls and shortcuts of custom installations. With the included mounting hardware, you'll find custom fabrication of a speaker location much easier. The GS60's removable ring can be painted or upholstered, depending on your vision for your interior. The grilles are ideal for painting as well.

Audiofrog GS60 reviews
...but these things seem pretty nice! I was surprised at how they actually handle the higher frequencies with the low frequency filtered at 80hz. No distortion. I'm using them with a Hertz 4 channel.
Pros: Great sound quality.

I installed a set of GS60's in my Kia Optima. They're being driven by a JL XD 400/4v2, actively crossed over (55-3500 Hz) with the GS10's in the dash with the Audiocontrol DM-608. As the stock "premium" Infinity system in my Optima had a three-way setup with a dedicated mid range in the dash, I thought I would have to get a set of dedicated mid ranges along with the door speakers. Nope. The GS60's, when actively crossed over, handle the mid range in a superb fashion while reproducing accurate mid-bass. My main concern with going back to a 2-way system was the door woofer would have trouble playing the mid-range at high volume along with mid-bass frequencies, causing a distorted overall sound. This was the problem I had previously in my Sonata, which had a set of Hertz DSK 165.3's. I can say without a doubt the GS60's completely blow the Hertz set away. I do not feel the need for a three way system anymore. These speakers have reminded me how much I prefer the sound of mid range paired with a bit of low end in the same location. Things like tom hits, bass guitars, etc. seem to have more presence. Overall, I feel these speakers are priced very well for what you get. They sound great, have solid build quality, and look cool if installed where they're visible. I'd also like to say that while Crutchfield says these do not fit my Optima, they fit pretty well. I only mounted the speaker, no grille or mounting ring, and just drilled one 1/2" hole for the speaker wire to go thr
Pros: Accurate Mid-Range. Can handle more power than I need. VERY low recommended crossover point at 55 Hz is accurate and blends well with my sub. Pairs perfectly with the GS10 tweeter with an active x-over.
Cons: None that I can think of at this point. Only wish Audiofrog would include some type of badge for their logo so I could replace the Infinity logo on my speaker grilles!

I purchased a set of jl audio c3-600 a couple of years ago from Crutchfield and one of the midrange speakers finally blew. I ordered the Audiofrog GS60 as a replacement and all I gotta say is OMG! More details on the Audiofrog GS60
Durability: The Nitrile-Butadiene Rubber (NBR) surround is resistant to ultraviolet rays, temperature extremes, and humidity to add to the speaker's reliability and longevity.
Multi Component Systems: The GS60s are designed to mate with the GS10 tweeters (item number 898GS10, sold separately) using the GS610C passive crossovers (item number 898GS610C, sold separately). They can also be used in an active system with (or without) the GS40 midrange (item number 898GS40, sold separately) and the GS10 tweeters using an electronic crossover.
Note: Audiofrog recommends a low pass crossover set no higher than 3.5 kHz. The minimum recommended slope is 12 dB/octave.
Adapter Rings: The included adapter rings allow installation in numerous factory applications. Without the adapter rings the GS60 fits many standard 6 3/4 locations. They will also fit standard 6 1/2 openings, but the bolt pattern is different, so you'd have to drill new screw holes. The adapter rings include standard 6 1/2 and Ford 6 1/2 bolt patterns, as well as specialized 6 3/4 bolt patterns. Please enter your specific vehicle information to confirm fit.
Power Handling: Audiofrog lists two RMS power figures in the manual; 70 watts RMS in the technical specifications section and 15-100 watts RMS in the recommendations section. We've listed the recommended range in the specs table.
