True on-the-go recording
True on-the-go recording
The Samson Go Mic is a compact, inexpensive microphone that makes high-quality recording possible wherever you go. So simple to use, just attach the Go Mic's clip to your laptop (or use it as a desktop stand), position the mic, connect its USB cable to your laptop, and start recording. The Go Mic is compatible with both Windows® and Mac® operating systems.
Use the mic's cardioid polar pattern to record a single source – such as your voice. Switch to omnidirectional to record more than one sound source, such as a band rehearsal. The mic has a stereo headphone jack so you can monitor as you record.
Ideal for music and spoken voice
While the Go Mic is sensitive enough to record music, it's also an ideal voice mic for podcasting, interviews and voice-over work. Clipped to your laptop, it can also serve as a high-performance mic for Skype, as well as voice-recognition software. Sound purchase!!! Without being repetitious, I agree with every previous POSITIVE review. In addition, I accidentally covered the mic with heavy mil plastic, and it still performed dictation to my Mac computer!!!
Pros: Sound purchase. Durable construction. All features performed as advertised.
Cons: Doubt it. Even the price is highly competitive!!!

Switchable Cardioid or Omnidirecitonal Pickup Patterns: Thanks to its switchable cardioid and omnidirectional pickup patterns, you can pick whichever pattern is more appropriate for your specific situation. Use the cardioid mode to capture vocals or close-mic an instrument. Or get the sound of a full band by flipping to omnidirectional mode, ensuring sound is recorded from all directions of the room. Plus there's a 10 dB PAD for recording hot signals in Cardioid mode.
CD-Quality (16-bit/44.1kHz) Sound: Plus, with a frequency response of 20Hz-18kHz and a resolution of 16-bit, 44.1kHz, you can be sure you're getting professional audio, CD-quality specs in a compact, multi-purpose design. The Go Mic faithfully reproduces a variety of sound sources including vocals, acoustic string and wind instruments, percussion, and overhead cymbals, to name a few. It is also great for VoIP, chatting and webcasting. The extended frequency and fast transient response ensures an accurate reproduction with linear characteristics from bottom to top.
USB Digital I/O: (Windows & Mac Compatible): The Go Mic is perfect for recording any acoustic audio source on your favorite DAW (Digital Audio Workstation). Just plug in the supplied 7' USB cable from the miniUSB (type-B) port on the Go Mic to the USB (type-A) port on your computer, launch your DAW, and start recording. The Samson Go Mic records directly to your preferred Windows PC or Mac OSX software program; no additional drivers required.

Samson Sound Deck Software: Available as a paid download, the Samson Sound Deck Noise Cancellation Software brings noise cancellation technology for enhanced VoIP communication and computer recording to the Go Mic. The Sound Deck software is available for Mac OSX and Windows.
1/8" Headphone Output: The Go Mic's built-in audio interface features a robust headphone output allowing you to monitor your recordings. The onboard headphone amplifier allows you to listen to your recording directly from the microphone, plus you can use the output to connect active studio monitors.
USB Powered: The Go Mic is a condenser microphone, and like all condenser microphones, it has internal electronics that require an active power supply. Traditional studio condensers are almost always powered by a Phantom Power supply which is usually derived from the mixing console. The Go Mic receives its power from the USB bus. Simply connect the microphone to the computer's USB port and the microphone is ready to operate. The Go Mic features a power on LED, which will illuminate when USB power is present.
Solid Construction: On the road, in the studio or in a fixed installation, the solid construction with die cast base make the USB condenser microphone a reliable audio tool.
Mounting Options: The clever clip design allows you to mount the microphone on your laptop or you can convert the clip mount to a convenient desk stand. You can even mount the Go Mic on a standard microphone stand with the included adapter.
Fold-Up Design & Carry Case: The Go Mic is extremely portable, thanks to it fold-up design and the included carry case that keeps the mic protected during transport.
