Ready for your Android™ phone

Android® users can control Pandora® right from the stereo through the Bluetooth connection — no wires needed. JVC's Smart Music Control app lets you use your compatible Android phone's touchscreen to control the action using finger swipes and gestures. With your Android phone safely attached to a mount, you can reach down and skip a track without taking your eyes off the road. You can also control your Pandora and iHeartRadio stations with this receiver.

JVC KD-X330BTS with remote

Remote control included

It's great with your iPhone®, too

If you're an iPhone® aficionado, this receiver gives you more than wireless control — you get voice control, too. Talk to Siri® Eyes Free technology to make calls, choose music, get directions, and more. Anything you can do with Siri can be done with this receiver.

App control is everything these days, and this JVC is ready to rock. You can check out Pandora, iHeartRadio, or Apple Music through this receiver and access basic controls on the screen display. For added convenience, the 2-way control feature lets you pick music using the receiver's controls, or you can use the phone itself.

Hear your music the way you like it

The KD-X330BTS plays MP3, WMA, WAV, and FLAC files, so you'll be able to enjoy all your tunes when you travel. You'll find a wide array of sound-shaping tools, including Sound Response to boost frequencies in digital files, Space Enhancement to match the sound to the size of your car, and a 13-band graphic equalizer. The Volume Link EQ boosts specific frequencies in the audio signal to compensate for road noise.

Automatic pairing makes it a lot easier to enjoy hands-free calling and wireless audio streaming, no matter what kind of phone you're using.

Make a USB connection

With your smartphone connected to the KD-X330BTS, you can listen to your phone's internal memory as one source and access its microSD card as another. You can also pair two phones at once, so you don't have to choose between the personal phone and the work phone when you're driving.

The Drive Change feature allows you to connect a memory card reader or USB hub to the JVC's USB input and select music from up to five memory cards or USB flash drives. You'll also appreciate the port's powerful 1.5-amp high-current charging capability.

Tune in to satellite radio

If you're a satellite radio fan, you can connect a SiriusXM® tuner and start enjoying the wide variety of music, sports, news, and entertainment available. If you haven't experienced satellite radio, you'll be blown away by the incredible selection of music and more that comes with your subscription. Plus, you can drive all the way across the USA without losing your favorite channels.

Expand your system for better sound

The KD-X330BTS gives you two sets of preamp outputs, convenient if you plan to add amplifiers to your system. When it's time to add a powered sub, you can switch the rear preamp outputs over to subwoofer mode to control your bass from the receiver.

This unit was a replacement / upgrade for the factory head unit. It fit beautifully with all the included adapters, and works great. Even though it was a factory reconditioned unit, I have found no issues at all so far.

This radio was quite easy to install especially when you get the wiring adapters for the particular model of car you're working with. The display is easy to see in the day and the built in amp is sufficient for the 4 speakers in my sedan even though the built in MOSFET amp is RMS 22 and all four speakers are rated at RMS 30.

Pros: Easy to install, affordable, built in amplifier, aux port.

Cons: Given how small the radio is I wish that they could have made it slightly longer and used an amp with a higher RMS.

Much better than my original head unit. The fit was good and the installation was a breeze. This head unit made the factory speakers sound much better than they are as well, which was a huge bonus. The only downside is the remote doesn't work most of the time. It'll change channels but not all of the time, and won't turn up the volume. I don't use the remote anyway but it should work if it comes with it.

Pros: Easy install, Sleek Look, and Great Sound

Cons: Small Buttons and Remote didn't work

This unit was chosen because of included microphone in the kit for Blue Tooth (BT) calling and USB receptacle on the front to facilitate charging. I am impressed with the power provided by the head unit to the OEM speakers. There is the ability to fade F to B, and balance R to L. The EQ can be adjusted to taste. BT pairing is quite easy, and I like that my wife and I can have our phones associated with the JVC head unit. The unit purchased was refurbished. I think the unit was returned because the clock function does not advance. The clock can be set, but it never advances. Apparently the reason for returning a piece of equipment is not communicated to the refurbisher, or quality control is incomplete. There is a big clock on the instrument panel of my '93 940 Volvo, so the clock not functioning in the JVC is moot.

Pros: Good sound and power from the head unit; more than I anticipated. Good FM reception from a 1/4 wave antenna. USB works fine. Road noise can be overcome with EQ adjustment.

Cons: At least for the fitting to my car, the head unit, with normal use, mounts solidly. A bit of pressure on the front of the unit will slide the head unit back in it's mount, requiring extraction again to fit it forward. I like the device other than no clock function and the slippage if pressed upon.

Install was easy. Just followed the instructions. FM reception much better than stock radio. BT pairing easy. Plenty of power for my vehicle (small truck). Buttons and controls are quite small - how else would you fit so much stuff in such a little space? So it can hard to see what button you are pushing while driving. Not a major problem.

Pros: Much better FM reception than stock unit. Bluetooth pairing worked easily - no more cables - yay!

Cons: Buttons and controls are pretty small and labels are correspondingly small, making it hard to know what button you're pressing.

I have bought two JVC model KD-x330BTS. I liked the first one so much in my Ford F150, I bought one for the Toyota Rav4. Bluetooth works great. I stream music and make phone calls throughout the day. I could not be happier. Both were refurbished and worked great from day one. Opened up the sound of the stock speakers.

    Pros: Price Sound quality

Cons: You will need to adjust the mic setting up on the radio. Comes preset way too low.

Great value for the price. Works great and great features.

Pros: Great price Easy bluetooth pairing Very good sound Auto clock adjustment Easy installation

Cons: Display could be a little more intuitive - you have to press the display button multiple times to get the clock to display and display mode rotation doesn't include the time. Buttons are somewhat small to press without looking so takes time to get used to them. Bluetooth volume seems lower than other sources (this is also true on other receivers so may be just par for all of them).

More than I expected for the price. I haven't installed a car stereo in 30 years but Crutchfield made it easy by including the install kit and easy to follow instructions. I spliced the connectors from the new radio to the car connector myself. It was very easy but if you're not sure Crutchfield will do it for you for a small fee. Added new technology to an older car for my son (new driver). iPhone compatible, blue tooth and usb. No cd player but who listens to cd's anymore? Connected to existing stock speakers and it sounds fine!

Pros: Sounds good iPhone compatible Bluetooth USB

Cons: The buttons are too small for my old eyes.

The little extra you pay to have all these extra features are worth it! Bluetooth connects automatically within seconds of starting you car, really works well. The preset EQ Settings are very accurate and makes it sound near professional quality.

Great head for my minivan. An extra USB port for charging all my kids devices while on a trip was just what the doctor ordered. Bluetooth connectivity was a must and who really needs a CD player anymore? We just would stream whatever music we wanted to listen to. I normally just listen to radio when the kids aren't around and the tuner worked well.

Fantastic feature list for the price. Simple installation in my son's Versa - he went from only being able to listen to CDs and radio to full iPhone compatibility, and the best sounding Bluetooth hands free calling in our family, better than the built-in system in my wife's Accord.

Pros: Great sounding Bluetooth hands free calling.

Cons: No way I have found to make the clock display time while the unit is on.

First - I have to say that Crutchfield is awesome. I ordered my item on a monday and not even 24 hours later it is was on my doorstep. Awesome. I installed the radio shortly after it arrived. Extremely simple to do. The unit itself is pretty good = does what i wanted.. just wanted a cheap unit to put in an old car so I can have bluetooth. Seems pretty basic - cant find a balance or fade control... but it does the job.

I bought this JVC receiver about five weeks ago, and so far I like it. Some things took some getting used to. I bought it because I wanted a radio that could connect to my phone by Bluetooth, and allow me to play music from my phone, and receive phone calls through the receiver. It does these things just fine. When my phone rings, it comes through the vehicle's speakers, and I can answer it without taking my phone out of my pocket. Thus, I can take phone calls safely while driving. The sound also seems a better than the factory radio, even though I didn't replace the factory speakers. There are only a few small negatives. When I set the clock the first time, I saw that it could be set to synchronize time with a radio station. I thought that would be good, so I tried it out. It worked well for a while, but as soon as I set the source to Bluetooth, the clock was 10 - 15 minutes behind. Eventually I figured out that I just need to turn off the 'sync'. After that it was fine. The other small negative is that when I set the source to Bluetooth, it automatically starts playing something from my phone - either the next track from where I left off, or something random. I would rather have it wait until I select something. This isn't too serious though. The instructions that came with the installation kit were quite complicated. Eventually I just connected like-colored wires from the receiver connector to the vehicle connector (blue to blue, etc.). This worked fi

Pros: Sound is good. Works with my phone for music and phone calls. Price is good.

Cons: Clock 'sync' doesn't seem to work if I switch source to Bluetooth. When I set source to Bluetooth, it plays random music from my phone before I select anything.

I really wish JVC would fix the pairing and Android app issues with this receiver and the Galaxy 8 phones. It has been a known issue and as far as I can tell they haven't even acknowledged it yet. As a result, I am stuck using the Aux cable. If you have an iPhone or older Android you will probably love this receiver- so take my review in light of that info.

Pros: Great FM reception. Good intuitive interface. Sound quality is good

Cons: Bluetooth won't pair. Android /JVC app won't work.

This product was OK when I 1st got it last year, I called and Tech Support was great with helping me figure out which stray wires went where. My dilemma arose from the Bluetooth functionality, the Bluetooth goes out, it has a horrible cracking sound. I called JVC for possible options but because I purchased a "Factory Refurbished" model....it only had a 90 day warranty. I should have stuck to Kenwood but I was chasing a "good deal"...I just decided to buy a Kenwood and life goes on...

Pros: 1. Solid Built Stereo 2. Easy connection 3. Remote

Cons: 1. Bluetooth 2. Display is cheesy 3. TOO many menus/options

Ordered this to replace an old stock radio without any modern functions. It works great and was easy to install and set up. The Bluetooth works flawlessly and when I need to charge my phone the built in USB charger works really fast. Purchased this HU last summer and was really looking forward to install this in my old Chevy C-10 since it is the first HU I've purchased since my old Alpine 7833 which I purchased way back in 1995. Unfortunately my excitement quickly turned to disappointment with the sound quality of the FM tuner and bluetooth (have yet to try usb stick FLAC files). The bass is non existing the mids sound muddy and I can't even hear my tweeters, it almost sounds like it is out of phase although I've checked my wiring and that is not the case. Can't figure out how to control my iPod Classic through USB, and last but not least it was not specified in the description before I purchased that the illumination is not changeable, I'm stuck with that horrible blue. Too late to exchange since the 60 days are long gone so I'm gonna see if I can salvage the situation by hooking up my old school Earthquake amp to see if that cleans up the sound.

Pros: Mech-less so it is a nice light weight installation, dual rca outputs with one dedicated sub output, bluetooth paired well with my Android no issues connecting (although the sound quality is horrible).

Cons: Sound quality, this has to be the worst sounding HU I've ever owned. The ancient Kenwood two knob tape deck that it replaced sounded WAY better if you can believe that!

Bought the refurbished model to save some money, still came with the free dash mount and wire harness for stock vehicle plugs. I used the included instructions wire diagrams (you have to download them from your order) and then soldered and crimped it all up. Mounted the face plate, pulled the dash, removed the old radios and popped the new one it. Perfect fit, wires schematics were correct, everything worked. Finding the fader was a little tricky, just check the manual and search for fader and you will see how to access that menu. The clock auto set from pairing with an andriod phone, but the day was wrong so you still might need to change the day. I like that it gives the option to turn off sources you don't use like iHeart Radio so you don't need to clip past it. Or if you don't use any apps you can turn them all off on the radio so it doesn't show them. Just don't forget to turn them back on if you decide to use the app later, but I still think the app is controlabl from the radio, just misses a few fancy bells a whistles. Tip: For my truck the ground was a female clip on the back of the radio and not a wire in the wire harnes. So I used a male spade (blue crimped one) and it fit perfect to clip into the stock ground plug. Mine also had the amp in the kick plate, it it's analog from 1997 so I wired the regulars outlut speaker wires and used the blue electric antenna wire as the remote switch wire to turn on the amp.

Pros: Easy install, works with Apple and andriod devices with USB or Bluetooth, can turn down LCD Blue button brightness and/or LCD text with separate brightness levels.

Cons: Auto clock set worked, but didn't set the correct day. Not really that big of a deal and easy to fix.

Not bad. I liked the idea of doing away with CDs (haven't had them in years). A unit that is all kinds of media capable, including satellite radio appealed to me. Installation was straightforward (thanks to Honda's good design and Crutchfield's wiring harness). But there's something missing. Like stock (AM/FM/CD) had less capabilities, but sounded as good, so it's a net zero. Overall I'm happy with the unit. But I think the design, in terms of user interface and information architecture (getting from feature to feature) is less than solid. For example, clicking to get to the equalizer functions takes too many steps. The look itself of JVC seems to trail other manufacturers (check out Sony and Pioneer). It's more stylized and less intuitive. It doesn't look that great and this leads to a failure in terms of form equals function. This is more like form for forms sake.

Pros: can do bluetooth, radio, XM sirius, phone, etc.

Cons: be aware it doesn't play CDs (which is fine with me), face design, less than intuitive controls, feels like a sub $100 unit. Sounds about par to my stock head unit (on an older Honda Civic).

This met my expectations and no more. It was a great value, and sounds excellent. The main know seems like it's pretty low quality and may break at any time. The buttons for the fm presets are way to small almost unusable. I also would like more presets for my fm stations 6 is just not that many. The blue tooth range is also a bit weak. I was debating between this unit and a pioneer that cost a bit more. I wish I would have spent a few more dollars. My recommendation is to pick a different unit

I bought this unit solely for the Bluetooth capability, which works great. My Android syncs with the unit, and the included microphone allows for pretty good sound quality on calls. However, the FM reception is not as good as the factory unit I replaced, even with the same antenna. Also, the buttons on the face of the receiver are very small, and it can be hard to hit the right one. Finally, the menus for the audio controls are not easy to use. You can't drive down the road and quickly adjust the balance, fade, bass, treble, etc. You have to break out the user manual and navigate the menus that are not very user friendly. Despite the issues, I'm keeping the unit because the Bluetooth works.

    Pros: BT

Cons: mediocre FM reception, buttons too small, complicated menus

A little tricky if you have multiple Blue Tooth devices paired with you at the same time, especially if you have started a Nav app on a phone (with some music on it) before you start the vehicle but, use another BT device for your carmusic. Just make sure you sequence initialize your device for playback first or turn off the BT for navigation (unless you want to use the call function). Mic picks up good. Love the scroll for song/album/band names/titles and for who you may be talking too. Easy installation, great price.

Pros: Easy install, bright display. Easy pairing.

    Cons: Tiny buttons.

For the price point this radio is a must have. It features. I don't even miss not having a CD player. It was really easy to wire up anybody can do it. If you can play uno you can wire a radio, you just match the colors up. I love the fact that no matter what app I use to play music the song and artist scrolls the screen. The only thing I wish it could do is change colors but it's not that big a deal. This digital receiver is a huge upgrade from the factory. I didn't buy this receiver to improve sound quality I bought it mainly for bluetooth capabilities. However, this receiver produces some very crisp sound, something I didn't even expect since I just have factory speakers.

Pros: Bluetooth, Remote Control, Vivid Display

Cons: Tiny buttons, No color variance

Winner! Very configurable, great sound response and works great with IPhone via Bluetooth. The hands free phone with the external microphone is clean and easy to use. For Tech types this unit is a dream to setup speaker crossover freq., speaker size and rear wired subwoofers. Unit is configurable for both two-way and three-way crossovers as well as subwoofers.

Skip forward/back buttons are tiny, hard to see, and it's easy to press the wrong one. Volume control knob is a bit flimsy. However, the ease of device pairing and the bright, attractive, and functionally useful display compensate for these minor shortcomings. Price is good. No regrets about buying this and would recommend it as excellent for the price.

Pros: Good price, bright, beautiful display, display is functionally well thought out - displays information per track that is actually useful.

Cons: Buttons are too tiny, barely usable

Installation was straightforward and went pretty quick. The stereo sounds great and the Bluetooth was easy to set up. The controls are set up well and it's easy to navigate for simple things like next sound and EQ. Just make sure you read the manual and practice for deeper menu options. I give it four stars only because the plastic and metal housing for the stereo is pretty flimsy. The stereo is secure in the housing but it was a downgrade compared to my prior aftermarket stereo's housing.

Pros: Easy to install Intuitive controls for simple commands

Cons: Plastic and metal housing is flimsy in jeep

Purchased to go in our sons 2007 Chevy Cobalt. Bought the kit and all to make installation easier. Worked great! One of the easiest installs I've done - so says my husband... He did it quick so must have been. Our son seems to love the stereo and esp that it has bluetooth. Only problem is that it doesn't seem to stay connected to his iphone. He has to reconnect every time he get back in the car - instead of the stereo just automatically recognizing his phone. My after market stereo picks up my phone as does my husbands so I figured this one would to - maybe it's some setting we've missed but other than that good stereo and great install kit.

I was looking for a replacement radio for my car, priorities were easy Hands-free calling, radio picked up stations well and had a functional clock. Unlike a Blaupunkt rio de janeiro that I had to send back, this JVC radio works very well for handling my cell phone calls and the clock actually keeps the time as it should. Sound is fine with the OEM speakers, but I am not an audiophile. It readily connects to my Android or iOS phones for BT connection, incoming calls are answered with a simple click of a button. Outgoing calls you can just hit the phone button, push volume button to select phone using and then I have stored my most commonly used phone numbers in the 1-6 preset buttons. You can also scroll through recent calls or use voice calling. I have not really evaluated the voice calling feature with my cell phones but even with factory units I have found that to be hit or miss. The call quality is very good with the included mic, no feed back for the person on the other end like I got with the Blaupunkt that had a mic built into the face of the radio. Although I did not evaluate Pandora or Iheart radio, I was able to stream Amazon Music over BT from my phone to the radio, controlled from phone. Highly recommend if main goal is handsfree calling system, voice not evealuated so far as presets are so easy. Crutchfield also gave me excellent support dealing with the other radio I had to return and getting this unit sent to me.

Pros: Great BT handsfree connection Preset phone number dialer Features for price small unit makes for easy install comes at cost of no CD's Relative to Blaupunkt, instructions are pretty good

Cons: Preset buttons are a little small some of setup features take a little searching to figure out Light is a little bright

This unit is perfect for anyone with a smartphone who love to stream music. The use of the units buttons to control a wide variety of different apps on your phone makes things super easy as opposed to looking at your phone and trying to drive (not safe). The unit also gives a nice boost in audio clearity and power. In addition the installation wasn't too bad. For the price, its a great product. My only difficulty was with panel removal of the vehicle itself but Crutchfield assisted in every way possible making it very easy! Never buying car audio from any other retailor!

What a great product, as usual from Crutchfield. Nice powerful amp makes even the factory speakers sound good. Bluetooth audio works great, can't speak for phone calls because I prefer to just hold my phone. Very compact device if you were planning to add a power pack/ compact amp behind it (which I might do). Loads and loads of fun setting to play with. You can also select your speaker sizes so they play in the optimum range. That said it can also works as simple as plugging in your phone and you're good to go. Great product. And I felt it needs to be said that crutch field is the best in the business for this stuff. Even if I found this for a lower price elsewhere I would stick with these guys because of the installation gear and top notch customer service. Solid product, solid company, very satisfied customer.

Pros: Sounds great, looks great, crutch field accessories and tech support, easy install, loads of features and settings yet still user friendly

    Cons: Nada

I bought this unit to replace a failing Kenwood in my 99 Jetta. The hand me down car is for my daughter who is just starting college. I wanted a stereo that would allow her to stream music and do hands free calling. This unit fit the bill in everything I was looking for. The blue display matches the blue interior lights of the Jetta. The bluetooth allows her the hands free calling and to stream her music. The front USB port allows her to charge her phone without having to purchase a car charger. The line in is there incase she wants to connect a friends phone and not mess with connecting via Bluetooth. Lots of perks in this little radio. The only issue I have is the antenna seems to be weak. It could be the cars antenna but not sure yet. That will get replaced at a later time.

Pros: Hands free, Front USB port for charging, Sub Woofer adjustments

    Cons: Small buttons

    Amazing value, extensive functionality

    1999 Porsche 911 Carrera

    Verified customer (What's this?)
    Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The Porsche 911 is iconic for many reasons, one of which is the rear-mounted engine. Porsche does not believe in change for change's sake; perhaps that's why Porsche installed an almost antique head unit in a modern (1999) Carrera. When I saw the JVC KD-X330BTS on Crutchfield at such a low price, I had to purchase it. Even if it wasn't a top of the line model, I knew it would be better than what it was replacing. I almost feel guilty for underestimating this JVC unit. The sound quality is excellent; the unit looks very nice in the dash of my 911, and the included remote control makes up for the smallish controls (I have very large hands/fingers, so the small buttons would otherwise have been a challenge). This stereo is a digital media receiver, not a traditional car stereo. The most notable difference is that the chassis is a couple of inches shorter since there is no optical drive. Those of you who have fought with installs in tight spaces can imagine how nice it is to have room for all of the wiring behind the JVC...with room to spare. This stereo does everything I could wish for: Handsfree, Bluetooth audio, I Heart Radio, Pandora, AM/FM, a front-mounted line-in, a USB jack for thumb drives (or charging your phone), and optional SiriusXM. I can't believe how much functionality is packed into this small stereo at such a low price. The icing on the cake was Crutchfield's complete installation kit, including the harnesses, removal tools, and ACCU

Pros: Variety of input options, excellent bluetooth integration, shallow form factor, remote control, extensive control/customization via menu system.

Cons: White buttons are illuminated w/ blue LEDs, color is not adjustable. Tiny controls (remote makes up for this). Display size (i.e. font size) is not adjustable; a smaller font would make it possible to see more track data with less scrolling.

I was looking for an update to my Tundra to support my iPhone. I'm impressed by how totally it interfaces with the phone and lets me play music and make/receive calls. And it looks pretty cool and sounds great. Only complaint is that I have a hard time seeing it in the daytime. Have to take off my sunglasses to make out the display. But I think most units would have this issue.

Pros: Great price (especially refurb), sounds great, interacts well with iPhone.

Cons: Too dim in bright sunshine.

    Nice unit.

Pros: Sounds great. Looks great. Lots of set up flexibility.

Cons: Set up can be a little daunting given the poor manual. The unit did not come with a battery for the remote. I contacted Crutchfield customer service. They confirmed it should have a battery. I was then instructed to go to the store, purchase a battery, then submit the receipt for a refund. I have to say I was very surprised by this. Why is the burden on me? It's not about the money, it's a principle/customer service issue.

Install was very easy considering the vehicle we were working with. I had one call to tech support to clarify a wiring question, got right in and got a straight answer quickly. I'm very impressed with Crutchfield's website, linkage to vehicle specific accessories and pricing strategies. Overall a very impressive experience. There are a lot of other companies that could learn a lot about online marketing from Crutchfield.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The JVC KD-X330BTS is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (version 2.1+EDR/3.0), allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit. In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP 1.6 (Hands Free Profile), OPP 1.1 (Object Push Profile), PBAB 1.0 (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP 1.2 (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP 1.5 (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the JVC KD-X330BTS. Check here for the latest Bluetooth compatibility information.

Secure Simple Pairing (SSP) + Auto Pairing (via USB): With Secure Simple Pairing (SSP), you can easily pair a Bluetooth enabled phone to the JVC KD-X330BTS without having to enter pin codes or go through complicated settings. You can even pair your Apple iPhone (iOS 5+) or Android smartphone (running JVC Music Play App) by simply connecting it to the JVC head unit via USB and following a single prompt on the head unit's display. When an already paired Bluetooth device is in close proximity to the receiver, the auto connection function automatically pairs the two units. You can pair up to ten Bluetooth-enabled devices to the JVC head unit, with a maximum of two Bluetooth phones and one Bluetooth audio device connected at one time.

Bluetooth Hands-Free Communication (w/ External Mic): The head unit supports Bluetooth hands-free communication for your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. And thanks to the latest Hands-Free Profile (HFP 1.6) with wideband speech capability, the KD-X330BTS provides more natural sound quality and details during wireless calls. The controls of the KD-X330BTS can be used to dial a number, answer an in-coming call, or end a call. The unit also includes an external microphone (with mounting bracket) featuring adjustable gain, so you can carry on your side of the conversation while listening to the caller through your vehicles speakers. During a conversation, you can switch between the Private Mode (talking directly on your cell phone) and the Hands Free Mode.

    • Answering A Call: When a call comes in, a ring-tone will be heard through your vehicle's speaker and the caller's name or phone number will be displayed. You can answer the call from the head unit's front-panel controls, or setup the head unit to automatically answer the incoming call immediately or after 1-30 seconds. The KD-X330BTS also supports the Call Waiting function, so you can answer another incoming call while suspending the current call you are on. Your compatible cell-phone must also support this feature.
    • Dialing A Number: Using the KD-X330BTS, you can dial a phone number in one of the following ways:
      • Enter Phone #: Allows you to directly dial a phone number up to 32 digits from the head unit's front-panel rotary dial.
      • Preset Dialing: You can store up to 6 contacts in the memory of this unit for speed dialing.
      • Phone Book: You can download phone book data from your mobile phone to the digital media receiver. You can then dial a contact within the phonebook from the head unit's front-panel controls.
      • Call History: The Call History is a list of calls that have originated from and were received by this unit that you can dial. You can select Outgoing, Incoming, or Missed calls.
      • Voice Dialing: If your mobile phone supports voice recognition, then you can dial out by voice command. Simply speak into the included microphone.
External Mic: The external wired microphone offers improved audio quality versus an integrated microphone, so you can be heard easier over noisy traffic and road noise. You can adjust the volume level, noise cancellation, and echo cancellation of the microphone without affecting the other sources. The external microphone features an attached 10' cable terminated by a right-angle 3.5mm connector which plugs into the mic input on the rear-panel of the head unit. The microphone offers an integrated mounting bracket which can be clipped to your vehicle's sun-visor or taped to your dash.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The JVC KD-X330BTS supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or audio player, plus song/artist information display and support for AAC music streaming.

    • Stored Music & Music Apps: You are able to stream your stored music library on your Bluetooth-enabled smartphone, as well as music apps downloaded on your smartphone to the JVC KD-X330BTS for playback.
    • SBC + AAC Codecs: In addition to support for the standard SBC Bluetooth audio codec, the KD-X330BTS offers support of AAC.  By supporting AAC, the KD-X330BTS offers better audio performance of the music streamed from your Apple iPod, iPhone, or iPad.
    • Advanced Music Playback: In addition to basic playback functions (Play/Pause, FF/RW, Skip, Random/Repeat), the KD-X330BTS lets you browse your stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, etc. (AVRCP 1.4+ phones only).
    • Song/Artist Information: The head unit will also display your stored music and music app's song information; such as Artist name and Song/Album title (not compatible with all apps).
Note: When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

Siri Eyes Free Control: When paired to an iPhone with Siri via Bluetooth, the JVC KD-X330BTS has the ability to access Siri through its front-panel control and external microphone. Simply press the "phone command" button on the KD-X330BTS to engage Siri and use the included microphone to communicate with Siri. Siri's voice will heard through your vehicle's speakers. All Siri functions including hands-free calling, music search, setting reminders, text-messaging, audible navigation, and more can be done through the head unit and its microphone. You can even ask Siri to get directions to a destination and the turn-by-turn instructions will heard through your vehicle's speakers, while the on-screen map still displays on your iPhone with Bluetooth; the head unit's audio is attenuated while Siri provides audible directions.

Note: The head unit will only display hands-free calling and Bluetooth audio information (all other functions of Siri are only audible through the KD-X330BTS; visual data will still need to be viewed from your iPhone device).

    iPhone & Android Integration

Android Open Accessory 2.0 (AOA 2.0) Connectivity:  The JVC KD-X330BTS's front-panel USB port lets you connect your AOA 2.0 compatible Android smartphone for music playback. JVC does not guarantee operation with all Android devices. Click here for the most current list of compatible Android smartphones. There are two Android AOA 2.0 modes to choose from based on what content you want to listen to and how you want to control it.

    • Hand Mode: The JVC KD-X330BTS supports Android Open Accessory 2.0 (AOA 2.0), which lets  you connect your Android  (OS 4.1+) smartphone to the KD-X330BTS's front-panel USB port and listen to stored music and music apps from your Android device through the JVC head unit. You'll be able to control basic playback functions such as Play/Pause and Previous/Next Track. Other advanced music navigation will still be done from your Android smartphone's touchscreen. In this mode, the head unit will not display song/artist information; only "Audio Mode" will show up on display. You'll continue to view song/artist information from the Android device's touchscreen. You'll also still be able to access other functions and applications from your Android smartphone's touchscreen, while listening to music through the head unit. If you make a call or answer a call from your smartphone while listening to music in this mode, the music will pause until you are finished with the call and then start back up again.
    • JVC Music Play App: Downloading the JVC Music Play app onto your Android (OS 4.1+) smartphone not only allows you to listen to stored music from your Android device through the JVC digital media receiver connected via USB, but it also lets you browse your Android smartphone's music library from the head unit's front-panel controls. You can browse your store music library by Playlist, Artist, Song, Album, or Genre. You can also control Play/Pause and Previous/Next track from the head unit. In addition, the head unit will display song/artist information. You can exit the JVC Music Play app to access other functions and applications of your Android smartphone, while your stored music library is still playing through your head unit. If you make a call or answer a call from your smartphone while listening to music in this mode, the music will pause until you are finished with the call and then start back up again.

iPhone Direct Connection: The JVC KD-X330BTS's front-panel USB port can be used to connect your Lightning-connector or 30-pin dock connector iPod/iPhone to the head unit. The KD-X330BTS supports audio playback, music navigation, information display, and charging of your compatible Apple device.

    • Lightning Connector: If you have a newer iPod/iPhone with the Lightning-connector, you can use JVC's Lightning connector-to-USB cable (105KSU62, sold separately) or the Lightning-to-USB cable that came with your Apple device to connect your iPod/iPhone to the KD-X330BTS.
    • 30-Pin Dock Connector: If you have an older iPod/iPhone with a 30-pin dock connector, you can will need to use the dock connector-to-USB cable that comes with your Apple device or a "Made For iPod/iPhone" 30-pin-to-USB cable (sold separately) to connect your iPod/iPhone to the KD-X330BTS.

iPhone Audio Playback: The USB connection allows your iPod/iPhone's stored music and music apps to be loaded instantly to the head unit and sound quality to be maximized through the head unit's 16-bit D/A converter, allowing for a Signal to Noise ratio up to 105dB. The JVC head unit supports audio playback of stored music, music apps, and podcasts on your iPod or iPhone. The KD-X330BTS provides music control and song/artist information display. You can choose between two operating modes.

    • Head Unit Mode + Song/Artist Info: From the head unit's front-panel controls you can search for stored music by Playlist, Artist, Album, Song, Podcast, Genre, and Composer. The contents of a Playlist or Category can be searched alphabetically or numerically. The KD-X330BTS also supports Repeat (file/all) and Random (album/all) playback functions of stored music on your iPod/iPhone. In addition, you'll be able to control basic playback functions (such as Play/Pause, Previous/Next Track) from stored music and select music apps streamed to your iPhone. During Head Unit Mode, the KD-X330BTS will display your iPod/iPhone's music file information such as Track number, Elapsed playing time, Artist name, Song title, and Album title. Newer iPod/iPhones with iOS 6.0+ allow you to continue to access your Apple device's touchscreen in this mode in order to access other applications; older iPod/iPhone devices will be locked during connection.
    • iPod/iPhone Mode: The iPod/iPhone Mode lets you control your older iPod/iPhone (iOS 5.1.1 and earlier) from its clickwheel or touchscreen. You'll still have access to basic playback controls (like Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track) from the head unit, but advanced navigation functions will be locked. No song/artist information is displayed in this mode. The unit will simply display "App & iPod Mode".

USB Charging: The head unit's USB connection provides 1.5A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone or Android smartphone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position (if your iPod/iPhone or Android smartphone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it).

    Audio Section

24 Bit D/A Converter: The JVC KD-X330BTS utilizes a 24-bit digital to analog converter for superior sound quality.

MOSFET Amplifier: The JVC KD-X330BTS is equipped with a MOSFET amplifier. Compared to conventional power supplies, the MOSFET amplification circuit is smaller and more efficient, and it delivers increased power with less distortion and absolutely zero on/off switching noise. More power means louder and cleaner music at higher volumes because you're not pushing the limits of the amplification circuit. The power output specs for the KD-X330BTS are as follows:

    • Full Bandwidth Power: 22 watts RMS x 4 channels (at 4 ohms, 20-20kHz, 1% THD)
    • Maximum Output Power: 50 watts x 4 channels (200 total watts)

Amp Gain: When you are using the KD-X330BTS with factory speakers (or those rated to less than 50 watts peak), the Amplifier Gain Control can limit the amount of power being sent to those speakers. When the Amp Gain Control is set to "low," the volume control ranges from 0 (minimum) to 25 (maximum). When using speakers rated higher than 50 watts peak, you can set the Amp Gain Control to "high," and the volume control will range from 0 to 35.

4V/4CH Preamp Output + Sub Control: The KD-X330BTS is equipped with two pair of 4V preamp outputs (Front, Rear/SW). You can set the Rear/SW preamp outputs for connecting a pair of full-range rear speakers (through an external amplifier) or for connecting a subwoofer (through an external amplifier). When set for rear speakers, the rear outputs operate with the unit's fader control. When the unit's Rear/SW preamp output is set to Subwoofer, you can set the cutoff frequency of the low-pass filter at 55Hz, 85Hz, or 120Hz. You can also adjust the head unit's subwoofer level between -8 and +8 (separate from the main volume level).

Crossover Network: The JVC KD-X330BTS lets you choose between a 2-way or 3-way crossover network for your car audio application.

    Q
can you play audio from an iPhone directly from the USB?
    [ Steven  Apr 27, 2017 ]
    6 answers
    A
Yes. You can plan audio from your phone with lightning cable. It will also charge the phone. However, you will not see Artist/Album info on the JVC display like you do when you play audio via BT.
    [ Dennis  Apr 28, 2017 ]
    A
Yes. USB can be used as a charger or audio jack.
    [ Nicholas  Apr 28, 2017 ]
    A
    Yes, you can.
    [ Michael  Apr 28, 2017 ]

Yes, and it will charge your iPhone as well. But if you don't need the charging, it's easier to use the bluetooth connection with the iPhone.

Additionally, you could install it near your ignition. That way if you receive any calls while using Bluetooth your voice is near it, so they can hear you.

Can I still use my existing radio/ cd player which would sit above or should i get a different brand?
    [ Debbie  Mar 14, 2017 ]

    A
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see how everything will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.

    Q
Can I hook up a subwoofer to it?
    [ Michael  Jan 22, 2017 ]
    6 answers
    A
Yes you can, I currently have it hooked up to 12" subs. It works quite well with them because it base a setting specifically for the Subwoofer. It allows a boost of +10 and as low as -50. Additionaly, it allows you to adjust the Bass, Mid, and Treble levels as well. As far as the iPhone stopping at the volume level of 15.. When you connect with Bluetooth, if you adjust the volume settings from your phone it will stop at 15. This is because on your iPhone itself can only go up to a max of 15 (Ex. Turn the volume off on your phone, then press the volume up button 15 times a and your iPhone will be at Max volume.) So when you change the volume on you right phone AT ALL it will set the STEREOS volume to 15 or less, but the STEREO can be turned up past 15. The stereo can then be turned all the way up if you want and it gets loud!

It appears that it does, it won't let me post the link but honestly this was a quick google search. The only complaint I have about this unit is that when you use volume from the iPhone it stops at 15, and if your at 20 and press volume on the phone it drops to 15.
    [ Daniel  Jan 22, 2017 ]
    A
Yes, you can hook a subwoofer to it. It even has specific settings that can be adjusted for the subwoofer.
    [ Isaac  Jan 22, 2017 ]
    A
    yeah
    [ William  Jan 22, 2017 ]
    A
Yes. There are output Jacks on the back. And there's a remote switch connection for the amp. Youll need an amp for the Sub.
    [ Mike  Jan 22, 2017 ]
    A
Yes you can. I am about to do this with mine. I do have to say, I am very very happy with this head unit. It has easy controls and is very compact due to the lack of an internal CD player. I am about to purchase a second one for my other car! The Bluetooth connectivity is great, I use it for phone calls, Pandora, BT audio streaming and iHeartradio all of the time! You will love it!

You can check to see what fits your vehicle by using our Outfit My Car tool: http://www.crutchfield.com/car/carselector.aspx After entering vehicle information choose your receiver, after adding to cart you will see the installation gear needed for your vehicle. For additional details on fit or installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on if this will fit and what you will need for an installation in your vehicle.

Can you change color of backlight? Also can you change the brightness? I don't like glaring bright radios.

Backlight setings for screen and button lights can be dimmed separately. You can even turn on auto backing so that the lighting will automatically change based on the time of day.

No, the only backlight color is blue. The brightness can be adjusted, but it still seems on the bright side at night, however I have been very happy with this unit so far!
