True Marine: Fusion describes these speakers as True Marine Accredited, meaning they are designed specifically for the marine environment and backed by Fusion's three year warranty. The speakers are tested to ensure they meet or surpass IP65 standards (waterproof and dustproof on the front of the speakers) and comply with ISO12216 standards for watertightness in areas II, III and IV of the vessel.
Curv Woofer Cone: CURV technology incorporates a woven fiber composite, heat pressed to form a lighter and stronger cone. This improves sound definition and increases output, along with creating better resistance to the marine environment.
Sealed Crossover: The crossover is sealed to provide full protection from the harsh marine environment.
Grilles: The grilles are not designed to be removed. The tweeter/LED housings are mounted to the grilles.
Compass Safe Distance: The minimum distance the speakers should be mounted from a compass to avoid any interference is listed in the manual as 11¾ feet.
Speaker Terminals: Each speaker has a six inch length of speaker wire attached, terminated with male quick slides (0.25" positive and 0.187" negative).
LED Illumination: There are multi colored LEDs mounted in the back of the tweeter casing, to create a glow on the cone. Depending on what combination of wires is connected, they can light red, green, blue, yellow, magenta, cyan, cool white, or warm white. A 12 volt power supply is needed to turn the LEDs on and Fusion recommends a switch and a 3-amp fuse in the power wire. The LEDs can also be controlled using Fusion's optional MS-CRGBW RC remote (item number 917CRGBWRC, sold separately).
Stainless Steel Hardware: The provided mounting screws are stainless steel.
Enclosure: Enclosure recommendations are given in the installation manual (an enclosure is not necessary, the speakers will operate in free-air):
- Sealed: 0.71 ft³
- Ported: 1.06 ft³ (with a 3" diameter 6.3" long port tube)
