Works like a charm

Our builder used a generic high speed HDMI for our long theater room projector connection. I was suspicious of it working for 4k. Sure enough it wouldn't transmit 4k signal. Buying this 80ft Celerity fiber optic HDMI cable did the trick!

Pros: Flexible thin cable

Cons: Connecters are different but work great

Easy to Install. Lossless.

I needed to route the video signal to my 4K TV about 12 meters, could not rely on conventional (copper) HDMI, and have to ensure that surround sound and video are synchronized--so any wireless system would have to be highly predictable latency, or too low to matter. The 60GHz wireless system I tried was fine for 1080p but A) would not go to higher resolution, and B) has significant hand-shake issues--not over the air, but between the base-units and the more modern HDMI standards in the new AVR and TV. I decided to give this fiber HDMI hybrid stuff a whirl. My experience is only a few days old but here is what I can say: 1) The installation is very easy. The system is designed for ease of installation and while one must be careful pulling the cable through conduit, holes in walls, etc., if you use a fiber pulling eye and hold your mouth right, it goes together easily. 2) The cable itself will work in either direction--it is only the Tx and Rx convertors (to/from HDMI) at either end of the fiber that are specific to the transmit or receive. so keeping track of which end goes where is not necessary. 3) Since it is lossless, even if there is a finite latency (which I cannot detect) it is not a variable latency which is the bane of most wireless HDMI systems which do data-conversion to reduce bandwidth needs. The varying latency of such items (since the amount of compression varies depending upon what is in the video stream) is impossible for the AVR to keep up with.

Pros: Lossless. Fixed and minimal latency. Fiber Cable can be routed in either direction. Removable end-fittings. Durable with small bending radius. 3/4" holes are fine.

Cons: Latency is not specified (why don't they do this??). Pricey.

Great Cable for 4K

This is the best solution for the problems I was having. transferring a 4K signal from my entertainment center over 65 feet to my Bravia X65930E. Nothing worked until I used this cable. A nice feature is the removable end fittings. This allowed me to snake the cable were required and then clip on the connectors. It has been about a year and a half now with no issues. Buy the cable and don't look back.

Pros: Thin and flexible removable end connectors

Cons: None so far

Perfect solution for long HDMI runs. I had a big box shop install my new LG OLED TV and Marantz receiver. Big mistake! They didn't have a 26' HDMI cable capable of 4k @ 60Hz which is what I needed to get HDR & Dolby Vision from my Apple TV connected to the Marantz and then to the LG TV. They instead installed a Baylen HDMI over ethernet and spent 5 hours troubleshooting handshake issues between the two ends. After they left without resolving it, I ordered the Fiber Optic HDMI cable from Crutchfield and everything works perfectly! Thank you Crutchfield for the recommendation. I am now able to view the HDR / Dolby Vision content on the LG OLED TV.

Pros: Sturdy cable, small end caps make feeding through walls much easier

Cons: Requires 5v USB on the display end. Most USB connectors on the TV are not powered and requires a separate USB-AC adaptor. This can be a big deal for some installations if you don't have access to an extra power plug behind the TV
