You won't have to cut any switch wires to install the new radio, and you won't need to program anything to retain your standard handlebar audio controls (bikes with rear speakers will require new speaker wiring, and some bikes with factory amps may require some rewiring). The BT1004X works with any JVC, Kenwood, Alpine, Pioneer, Clarion, Dual, or Sony radio with a wired remote input or steering wheel control input. If you're going to change your radio, this Biketronics kit provides a simple, dependable way to do it.

BT1004X

Old bike, new tunes, easy job. from Indiana on 10/21/2015

I found this kit perfect for my project - ordered a scratch/dent unit - not a blemish on it. Worked without any issues, it keeps my thumb controls through the handlebars, had to run rear speaker wire though I have to think there is a couple pair of wires that run to the back and you could use - but the pros said nope, gotta run new rear wires. Runs perfect speed volume is set perfectly, so no adjustment. Crutchfield counselors are fabulous, patient with people like me who, want to try to do it themselves with a little help from the voice on the end of the phone. Website is comprehensive by sometimes you can't get back to the deal you found yesterday - suggest doing screen shoots saving to your device and if on a computer they can see your screen - I'm guessing its a known problem. Good product from and excellent reseller.

Pros: Works as it should.

Cons: Nothing.

Customer Q&A

Q
Crutchfield asked: Why did you buy this?
A
This thing did exactly what it was supposed to. 1996 HD FLHTCUI - a bike I've had for a lot of miles, ridden not just pulled out on sunny days. The radio install preserved my thumb controls, I waffled a bit on whether it was worth it on not to keep that functionality. I lost my WX and CB in the upgrade but got CD, Bluetooth, cool color options and modern conveniences. In the end it was WORTH EVERY PENNY! I was lucky someone decided it wasn't worth it and returned an open box, saved BIG!!! [ BRENT  Mar 21, 2016 ]
