Remote start your vehicle — precool in summer, preheat in winter

Choosing the right remote start system and installing it in your vehicle has become a lot simpler and more affordable with this all-in-one Fortin EVO-Series package. The EVO-CHR.T4 system includes a digital interface module, which bypasses your vehicle's immobilizer circuits so you can start it without a key, and a T-harness that'll connect the module to your specific vehicle. In addition to the Chrysler harness, the module comes pre-programmed for your vehicle right out of the box.

Vehicle-specific harness simplifies the installation

While not quite plug-and-play, the harness connections cut down installation time considerably, so you do-it-yourselfers out there can save a little money. Fortin includes a code on the package that you use on their website to download and print detailed, illustrated instructions for your installation. In addition, Crutchfield offers free lifetime tech support, via our toll-free telephone number, to help ensure your remote start installation goes smoothly.

Use your factory remote

You start your vehicle by pressing the lock button on your factory key three times. This system lets you start your car from as far away as the key will lock and unlock your doors. Note: This feature works on most vehicles, but in certain select vehicles, the factory key won't work with this remote start system and an RF kit will be required for installation. Please contact us for more details.

Optional RF remotes increase the range

If you want to be able to start your car from inside your home or office, for instance, you can extend your range by simply plugging in one of these RF remote kits to the interface module.

Fortin RF641W 1-way, 4-button RF remote kit, 1500-foot range ($80)

Fortin RF642W 2-way, 4-button RF remote kit, 2500-foot range ($120)

Each RF kit contains two remote controls, an antenna module, and harness. Both kits let you remotely lock and unlock the doors, pop open the trunk, and perform other functions in addition to starting your engine.

Integrates with your factory security system too

The EVO-CHR.T4 also gives you control over your vehicle's factory security system's basic functions like horn-honking, light-flashing, and door-locking, giving you a little peace of mind when you get into your running car.

IMPORTANT:
Customers who want to configure Run Time or adjust advanced features will need to purchase a Fortin FLU-100.2 Flash Link Updater.

If you know how to use a multimeter and have experience working with your vehicle's electrical system, you should be able to install this remote start system yourself. If not, please consider having your system professionally installed.

To ensure vehicle compatibility, please enter your vehicle information. Your order will be reviewed by our Car Experts group, who will contact you if further information or recommended accessories are needed.

Works perfectly. Giving 4 stars due to the instructions. The instructions are not much more than a wiring diagram. YouTube however helped and then the install was 10 minutes for my 2011 Ram.

Pros: Works perfectly as described.

Cons: Lack of detailed instructions

Awesome product. Once I did some homework insatallation only took 20 mins. Installed this in 2008 Grand Cherokee. I will be ordering another for my 2008 Jeep Commader. As always Crutchfield Tech Support was helpful and informative.

Pros: Easy to install. Works with factory key fob.

Cons: Instructions could be a little clearer.

works great easy to install

Works well, fairly easy to install and program. Works off of the factory key fob. I will be buying the programmer tool so I can change some of the functions. I was a little let down when it did not come with a resistor that is needed to hook up the parking lights on my vehicle. it looks like every vehicle on the list needed a 1k or 2k resistor, so why not put one of each in the box. resistors are very cheap especially when purchased in bulk. now I have to order resistors online and wait for them to come in so I can finish the install as there are no more electronics stores around. Other than that it works great. The instructions are not the best, but still fairly easy to install.

Pros: easy to install, works well for factory key fob

Cons: did not come with a resistors required to complete installation

Easy install for an advanced novice

Shawn from Christiansburg, VA on 12/29/2018

I ordered this product using the vehicle specific search option. Got it really quickly and was set back a little after seeing all the small wires. The instructions were good to follow for a professional. I watched a few YouTube videos In regards to fortin and dodge and found out 99% of the wires were not even needed. Just connect the yellow wires and installed per step by step instructions. It worked perfectly. The YouTube videos helped with installation. Would have been nice to have a video link included.

Pros: Was actually an easy install for just needing it for just a car starter

Cons: A video clip would be great addition to the instructions

Excellent product, Easy to install!

George from Bossier City, LA on 1/22/2018

This is a great upgrade for the Town and Country. Mind boggling at first for the number is wires but it is an expandable system. You just need to connect the yellow wire from the T-Harness to the Yellow wire on the 20-pin harness and install it! Of course it suggests to use the hood pin and safety switch but that's up to you.

Pros: Makes an excellent gift to the Mrs and quick to install! No need to connect the wire for the parking lamps, they work regardless.

Cons: Nope, nope, nope.

The starter is amazing and the staff at Crutchfield unbelievably knowledgeable and customer orientated. I am a low voltage guy, but couldn't get it to work. I called and had not hooked up 2nd yellow wire. Whole install took less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend!

Pros: Great bargain, easy to install.

Cons: None if you bother to read the instructions lol

Great product

Ryan from Glendale, AZ on 5/29/2016

2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Verified customer (What's this?)
Verified employee purchase (What's this?)

The quality of this product is amazing. I had a hour before I needed to go to work so I wanted to do some research in the vehicle so I knew what I was getting my self into I took the panels off so see how hard it would be to get to the wires I needed. I installed the t wire harness, again just to see how hard it would be. I was a little confused what the next step would be so I called customer service and the guy asked a few questions had me connect one wire and much to my surprise it was done. Crutchfield is great and the reason I go through them for everything is because I know they will spend as much time as you need to make sure your install is done right.

Pros: Quality of the product, ease of the install, help from Crutchfield and from fortin.

Cons: distance of your stock key. I still gave 5 stars because there is nothing fortin could do to give more distance in the stock key. I think it's just something everyone should know. I bought the long distance fortin key from Crutchfield and will install this weekend.

Product works great! Love being able to remote start using the existing key FOB and not having to carry another remote on my key chain. Directions are a bit sketchy and Fortin's customer service wasn't the friendliest, but Crutchfield advisors are great and we ultimately got the help we needed to get it installed properly.

Pros: Not needing another remote

Cons: Not the friendliest customer service (Fortin)

Features

Overview: The Fortin EVO-CHR.T4 is a combo package containing the EVO-ALL, an all-in-one data immobilizer bypass, door lock, alarm, and remote start interface module, along with the THAR-CHR.T4 T-Harness for select Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Volkswagen vehicles. The EVO-ALL and T-harness are designed to greatly shorten the installation time of the remote start/security system in those vehicles by making many of the connections via direct plug-in harnesses.

Note: This is a complex product, and it is recommended that installation is performed by a professional installer or experienced do-it-yourselfer.

Compatibility: The EVO-CHR.T4 is currently compatible with some 119 vehicles, including select 2008-16 Chrysler 300 and Town and Country; 2008-17 Dodge Challenger, Charger, Durango, Grand Caravan, Journey, Magnum, Pickup, and RAM; 2008-13 Jeep Commander and Grand Cherokee; 2010-15 Ram 1500, 2500, 3500, 4500, 5500, and CV; and 2008-14 Volkswagen Routan vehicles. Click here to see if your vehicle is compatible.

User Interface: The EVO-CHR.T4 offers three different ways to start the vehicle or control the built-in alarm system:

  • Using the OEM remote
  • Working with compatible long-range RF remote kits, such as the RF641W or RF642W.
  • Through compatible smartphone modules (such as Compustar Drone and others).

Included Harnesses: The EVO-CHR.T4 includes a pre-wired harness with multiple plugs on each end that connect to the EVO-ALL module and the vehicle's OEM wiring. An activation key to WireColor.com is included for a free vehicle wire color diagram.

Q
Does this work with a manual transmission?
[ Luke  Jul 15, 2019 ]
1 answer
A
I don't recall whether or not it will work with a manual. Crutchfield's customer service contacted me right after I ordered mine to confirm that my vehicle was an automatic and to confirm my programming options. I'm sure they would contact you as well if it can be programmed for a manual.

Q
Does this come preloaded?
[ Jack  Dec 28, 2018 ]
4 answers
A
I guess the answer would be kind of. You need the flash update to get the latest software package and to adjust options. I've found this to be true on many different applications for the brand.... All in all Fortin seems to be the best systems we've installed in our shop.
[ THOMAS  Jan 03, 2019 ]
A
Mine did. A customer support person called shortly after I ordered to confirm the details of my vehicle and to tell me it would be preloaded for my vehicle.
[ John  Jan 02, 2019 ]
A
It does but you have to get the flash link with it in order to donwload the correct firmware, and or make custom settings. Ex: like disabling hood pin so it can start without one, or priority locks. Without it you cant even view how it is set. I actually had to downgrade the firmware to my preference.
[ vincentia  Jan 02, 2019 ]
A
It says it does however, I also ordered the FLU100.2 Flashlink Updater and I ended up going back into the options a couple of times to adjust some settings. It may work as shipped but I was adding the RF641W extended range remotes so I wanted to make sure I was able to set everything the way I wanted. The programmer was only $35 so I think it's worth getting. Plus if and when I add a remote start to my Jeep I can program that also.
[ Nathan  Jan 02, 2019 ]
Q
What is the base runtime without buying the additional RF remote?
[ jcee33ee  Feb 05, 2018 ]

A
10 minute run time, can be done twice, after that you do have to start vehicle with key
