Works as advertised. Set up was extremely easy and speeds are consistently over 480mbps on all three floors, 3,500 square ft home. The app gives plenty of controls and features and very easy to use!

GREAT product, Firmware Outdated???

Well, I don't have enough time to Explain why it took "FOUR HOURS AND 17 MINUTES" with an IT person helping me (My NEIGHBOR), and "NOLAN" from Crutchfield on the Phone the Whole time for those "FOUR HOURS"!!!! Unbelievable as it were! After All that Time, we "FINALLY" got the System up and Running. Everything We have, Arlo Cameras, 2 TV's, (Wireless), 2 Printers (Wireless), An Apple Time Capsule, 2 Laptops, and a PC, All of our Cell Phones ETC ETC, Re Attached to the Network Perfectly and Seamlessly, and the Speeds are 10 Times (Wirelessly) as Fast as what they were. (B4), 30' away our speeds went from 700MBS to 30/40/70MBS, No one could tell us why? Only thing was (You Must have something Interfering with the Signal)?? NO CLUE as to What or Why to this Day?? Now, after Placing the Base Station and the Satellite, Our Speeds are Constant at 30' away and BUZZING along at 400/600 MBS now with the "Mesh" Orbi System, In the Same Room with the BASE Station, were hitting 700/900 MBS Now consistently, What we are PAYING FOR! "Happy" "O" YA. And Thanks to Crutchfield and there FANTASTIC Customer Service and dedication to Excellence, and My IT Neighbor, we Can't be Happier!!! NOW, If the System stay's "SOILD" and Reliable, It will be a Lifesaver to our Household to say the LEAST! BTW, What we "THINK" caused some of our Issue was the Orbi System in the Middle of the Install, Stopped and wanted to do a Firmware Update, From that Point, it was a "MESS"! Right down the toilet!

Orbi is quite excellent

Orbi mesh system fixed the issue I had with connectivity in my split level home. The setup was simple and I was able to get all my alarm cameras set up and my other users are working in a stable high speed configuration.

Orbi AX4200 is putstanding!

I ordered the Orbi AX4200 after I tried to upgrade my extender firmware and it failed and would not reboot. I did a few days of research and initially ordered another extender, however, after speaking with an IT buddy, I contacted Crutchfield and cancelled the extender and ordered the Orbi AX4200 (the agent was awesome and sent an RMR for the return of the extender and assisted in getting my Orbi order shipped 2nd day). I've had many modems and routers over the years as technology developed and I tried to stay somewhat current, however, the Orbi AX4200 was the easiest to setup and have up and running in about 15 minutes. I was blown away with the ease of installation/setup, kept my previous ID-password (so all my device connected immediately), and now I have the most exceptional coverage ever in every room of my 3500sq-ft home. Everything has been working flawlessly for the last few days and no drops or weak spots. I can highly recommend Crutchfield and the Orbi AX4200. I can see why they area a Best Seller!

Better Than I Expected

This is the 3rd wifi mesh system I've tried in the past 4 months. The first was a Meshforce M7 (fast and good coverage but disconnects of devices from the wifi every few days, requiring devices to be power cycled). The second was a Linksys Velop AX4200 (fast and good coverage but one of the nodes complete died after 2 days). I decided to give this Netgear Orbi AX4200 a chance since Crutchfield has a generous 60 return policy if not satisfied. I actually didn't have high hopes since it seems that wifi routers nowadays aren't as reliable as year ago, but this one has surprised me. Coverage and speed are good, plus all my devices have had stable connections for the past 5 weeks that I've been using this system. The app on the iPhone seemed a little limited but I've found that there are many options that can be configured with the web UI, so I've been using the web UI to make any changes and the app for when I want to do some quick checks on the system and connected devices. I don't really have any complaints. I just hope that this system will continue to work well for the long term.

Mesh Router if you have lots of IOT

With each new house built around ours and the addition of Internet service, stable IOT connections became a challenge. Mesh WiFi was the best solution. Every device has a strong connection quickly seeking the appropriate base or satellite and WiFi band. Satellite backhaul works either wireless or Ethernet with the wireless actually a bit faster. The Orbi app failed to complete the setup as it could not recognize the Internet provider, so it was necessary to access the router using a browser. Our CenturyLink Gigabit Fiber service requires a Tagged VLAN setting so that the Orbi router can be connected directly to the Internet Ethernet port on the ONT. It took several attempts to get the Orbi to accept the setting, but it finally worked. This will allow to remove the original provided router, but I do recommend keeping it as a spare. Speed tests confirmed that the Orbi is getting a full gigabit up and down minus some overhead and latency is as good or better than before. I kept the same WiFi SSID and password to avoid having to run around and change nearly 50 devices. This way if for some reason the Orbi goes down, the spare router can be in place in just a few minutes. If you have competing WiFi signals from your neighbors, then Mesh is the way to go.

Great speed and reliability. The satellite really helped bring distant devices in my garage and yard more dependable, fast coverage. I wasn't successful at setting it up using their app, but one of Netgear's technical support people showed dogged determination to get it working and spent quite a bit of time with me until it was all working okay.
