Want big bass but short on floor space? SVS has the solution. Go vertical with their PC-2000 powered cylinder subwoofer. This sub's unique design delivers all of the deep, powerful bass you'd expect from a big ported box, but in a more space-efficient, cylinder-shaped enclosure with a room-friendly footprint. (Only 16.6" in diameter, to be exact.) The PC-2000 faithfully reproduces bass all the way down to 16 Hz for jaw-dropping depth and dynamics with your favorite music and movies. SVS made its name with their potent cylinder subwoofers. Put one (or two) in your listening room today, and find out why these subs still continue to amaze audiophiles and home theater enthusiasts alike.
With its 500-watt amplifier, 12" aluminum cone woofer, and flared, low-noise rear port, the SVS PC-2000 delivers powerful bass that will rattle your home theater's rafters.
The PC-2000 starts with a bass-reflex (ported) cabinet design that allows its long-throw 12" driver to make wide excursions, creating high-output levels at very low frequencies. The sub's powerful, high-efficiency 500-watt Class D amplifier features a built-in Digital Signal Processor (DSP) that dynamically controls amplifier power to ensure you hear deep, low-distortion bass no matter how loud your music and movies get. The PC-2000's strong, rigid cylinder-shaped enclosure helps eliminate cabinet flex and resonance to keep your bass clean.
Line-level inputs and outputs let you easily connect this sub to most audio systems. A Low Frequency Effects (LFE) input accepts the subwoofer connection from your A/V receiver. Its back-panel volume, crossover, and phase controls help you fine-tune the bass to ensure a perfect sonic match with your main speakers and your room. The sub includes four SVS elastomer isolation feet to decrease the amount of vibration transmitted to the floor for cleaner, tighter bass. The PC-2000 makes an ideal addition to home theater or stereo music setups in larger listening rooms.
SVS was founded in 1998 by a group of audio enthusiasts seeking to develop a better alternative to the under-performing and over-priced subwoofers popular at the time. By leveraging advanced technology, using the highest quality components, and applying rigorous engineering and design principles, the SVS team has developed a line of high-performance, high-value audio products that bring music and movies to life with stunning realism.

Excellent sub. Pairs well with my Marantz and fills up my media room.
Pros: Good foot print
I had a sub from another brand die and decided to check out SVS based on a friend's recommendation. Since I was replacing a smaller unit (in my living room and not the movie room), I stayed in the 2000 series range vice diving into the higher end ones. I waffled between this and the PB-2000 and actually initially got the PB-2000. While I liked that sub, it did not fit well in the living room and certainly did not pass the "spouse test" due to the fact it was much larger than the model it replaced. Crutchfield made the exchange simple and since I live a few hours away, I was able to do it myself and bypass arranging freight pick-up for the PB-2000. I can easily say I am glad I made the switch. Besides getting the thumbs up from the wife, I feel that the PC-2000 sounds a bit better. The bass is just as deep and feels tighter than the PB-2000. Besides taking up less floor space as a cylinder, I think it looks more aesthetic and as an added bonus the ultra-bright power LED is hidden in the back vice up front. The cylinder shape makes placement a little easier (can angle the back-firing port into a wall, corner, or even air by turning the tube) to adjust for a room's quirks. I can easily recommend this model to anyone looking for a great sub in the sub-$1000 range.
Pros: Deep, solid bass that is not too boomy. Easy to move and position to adjust to a room's features. Unique shape looks nice and passes the spouse test.
Cons: None. Other subs may have more power, but for the price, this one is hard to beat. I suppose cats could mistake a cloth-covered tube for a scratching post, but neither of my two cats have paid any attention to it.
I bought a SVS PC-12 NDS about 10 years ago and I'm still using it. I added the PC-2000 for dual subs. This sub is an awesome addition.
Pros: The small footprint is why I stick with the cylinder sub. Lots of boom.
This is my 2nd PC-2000 to make it a dual sub set-up, and wow, it DOES make a difference. It balances out the system and enhances the overall sound quality. Glad I made this purchase.
Pros: just enhances the whole sound
I've been looking into upgrading my old Velodyne VRP-10 for the last 6 months, and names like SVS were on nearly everyone's list of a great competitor in the sub $1000 category. My Velodyne had stared to bottom out under intense movie scenes where it couldn't keep up. I read several reviews mentioning this is a "good" sub, and suggesting it wasn't as loud as they had expected -- After having this hooked up and calibrated for several days, I would challenge the setup of those systems because this thing is a force to be recognized in home theater. I played a bass test track that shook the entire house and made my wife think an earthquake had just occurred. I've only watched movies and listened to music in movies, so my opinions will be based off that alone - the short story here is this thing sounds amazing. I'm amazed at the detail in the bass I was missing previously. It will shake the room when it needs to, and provide subtle ambience when it should with great clarity. The cylinder itself is rather large. It has a 16in. diameter, and might not fit every décor due to it's cylinder style but the overall aesthetics are pretty neutral and easy to match. If you need a small footprint with big boom, this should be your choice.
Pros: Distortion free lows Room shaking bass Small footprint Isolation feet included Aesthetically neutral for matching to your systems
Cons: None - if height is a concern go with a standard box woofer instead.
sub sounds good. Not quite as hard hitting as I expected but the sound quality is great
Pros: tight bass, very good sound quality
Cons: big, not quite as loud as I expected
Yes, the PC-2000 looks like a small water heater but is unobtrusive when tucked in a corner. The down-firing design and flexibility in controls & hook-up options make blending into a two-channel system easier than many subs.
Good, but not great. This sub replaced an older Infinity 12" with 250 RMS. The older sub started to buzz and had to go. I don't know that the SVS is even as good. I moved it all over the room (20X20X10) and played with all the settings (Crutchfield customer service was amazing - that's why I always buy from Crutchfield). But I could not make the lows hit me like others claimed in their reviews. I set it with Audessy, and then manually adjusted the sub volume through the receiver. If I turned the sub volume too high , it sounded too boomy. I like to really feel the bass in movies when explosions happen or the Enterprise goes to warp speed. I can only feel the bass in this SVS sometimes, but not as much as my old sub. Disappointed. Most of the other reviews made this sub sound like it would really blast off! But it doesn't blast off in my room. Maybe my expectations were too high; maybe my room is too large; maybe it's because it is a down firing speaker and the floor is carpeted - but the old sub worked in the same room. By the way, I am running this sub with a Marantz SR7007, and new Def Tec front and center 9060 speakers all with powered woofers in them. I am keeping this sub because I don't think I will be able to get anything better in this price range. I bought this cylinder sub because it took up less room and looked better than the box subs - and it does look a lot better in the room than the big box that stuck out three feet from the wall.
Pros: Looks great in the room. Takes up less space
Cons: Does not shake the room with lows during movie explosions, or sci- fi sound effects. No place to attach cable grounding wire.
Great and unique looking and sounds awesome. Since owning I have rewatched several 4k blue rays and the LFE's will blow you away with gut punching lows. This piece of equipment is definitely a conversation piece.
Pros: Small footprint House shaking lows Unique look Solid build
Cons: Nothing yet.
Very sad performance for me. Not sure about the other reviews. Could not get good heavy bass from this no matter where I placed it. I have an Onkyo TX-NR905 receiver and Infinity Beta 50 speakers. My old 300 watt 12" Infinity sub-woofer that just died put out A LOT more bass than this SVS. Exchanged it for a HRS-12 Sunfire sub. O.M.G. Turned only halfway up it's shaking my house. VERY happy now. As usual Crutchfield customer service was excellent!
Pros: Cool shape.
Cons: I get more bass from my Logitech computer speaker's sub-woofer than this.
Got 2 of them & they nicely complement the old Carver Amazing ribbon speakers of the 1980s placed behind them. These subs can hit the bottom that let you feel the sound waves. There are so many good subwoofer out there to choose from but for sound value & price, SVS PC-2000 is not a bad choice.
Pros: Easy setup, good value & aesthetically pleasing design
SVS has done it again IMHO! When my sister heard it, she exclaimed with delight, " It's just like the movies!" While I haven't measured the Hz level you definitely FEEL the bass when explosions hit the screen. I have noticed several reviewers have mentioned the size of this subwoofer, I feel it's smaller than the BIG boxy subs that are out there. I would equate its size with a 20 gallon water heater. 35 inches tall, 16 inches in diameter and more BOOM in da ROOM than at your local multiplex! BUY IT! You won't regret it! .
Pros: Deep Bass! Quality construction! Will be the LAST Subwoofer you will ever buy!
I recently upgraded my center and front channel speakers from Klipsch KLF-20's, C7 to Heresy III's and and RP-450C. The rear channel speakers are RB5's. The speakers are driven by a Rotel RB985 with a Lexicon DC-1 Version 4 preamp. The Heresy's are much flatter than the KLF-20's and needed a bump in low base. I looked at all the Sub's between $500 and $1200 and settled on the SVS-PC2000. The Klipsch was to big in size for my space. I was pleasantly surprised after getting all the fine tuning done. The SVS blends perfectly with my set up. I was lucky to have a nice front corner spot behind the LF Heresy. I ended up having to put rubber tabs behind all my wall art to eliminate all the new rattles this Sub unearthed.
Pros: - Price is nice and SVS covers the amp for the same length of time as the speaker. - The round shape is much more aesthetic looking with square front's - The base generated is lower than I expected and it brought to life some sound I was missing in several acoustic tracks. - Packaging was excellent! You would really have to drop these off the back of a truck hard to do any damage in shipping.
Cons: - I measured out the height but until you actually fill it with volume they look smaller on paper. Not much of a con but be aware. - Being round the cabinet doesn't have that wood finish that I appreciate with the Heresy III's.
I bought this after a lot of research for a small 11'x16' dedicated home theater in the basement. My uses are mainly for action movies and hip hop/EDM type music genre. Therefore, a ported sub made more sense than a sealed. I researched mainly SVS, JL Audio and Hsu Research as these were in my price range. I did an online chat with both SVS and Crutchfield and their knowledge was impressive and decisive. (I have a hard time deciding if magazine reviews are partial to their advertisers.) At first I was planning on a traditional box shaped subwoofer, but decided that this down-firing cylinder used up less floor space. But it is quite tall and robust, like an obese toddler. You will need 2 people to bring the large box into the house, but I was able to carry the unit itself into my basement. I am quite pleased with the purchase. I can literally feel the punch and boom of explosion scenes. Same with deep bass in music if you like your room sounding like a club. My wife says it shakes part of the house a floor above, but not to the second floor. I was originally thinking I would eventually need a second unit for my 7.4.2 setup, but maybe not .... I am using an old Klipsch unit as my second sub. The best part of it all is that I paid nothing, using my Discover Card reward points. Thank you Crutchfield for the excellent service and quick delivery!
Pros: Smaller footprint Class D amp House shaker
Best subwoofer I've ever experienced! Huge is a description of the encompassing sound...allowed me to hear details/elements I'd never heard in both movies and music! Sub seems very forgiving of room placement - sounded great in many locations in my open living room. Huge also describes the size of this beast - just be completely aware of just how large it is before buying. But, I think it's also easily hidden in far corners of a room. I love this sub!
Pros: Outstanding clarity and power and precision! Great sub for movies and music!
Cons: Just the physical size...and that's not really a knock against the speaker.

Cylinder Cabinet Design: The SVS PC-2000 powered subwoofer features a cylinder cabinet design and a rear-firing 4" high-flow port with inner/outer port flares for smooth, deep bass and high output efficiency. The cylinder styled PC-2000 outperforms many larger ported "box-style" powered subs. The SVS PC-2000 delivers unmatched bass performance per square inch of floor space giving you the sheer power of a much larger ported subwoofer. Its cylinder cabinet features MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) construction wrapped with a cloth grille and fitted with rubber feet to resist any unwanted distortion.
12" High Output Woofer: The down-firing 12" high output woofer of the SVS PC-2000 powered subwoofer pumps out deep and powerful bass with low distortion, for smooth and accurate performance on music and movies soundtracks. The woofer features a lightweight 12" aluminum cone for enhanced sensitivity and transient response, an upgraded suspension for improved linearity and control, plus a long-excursion rubber surround for durability and long-life. It also incorporates FEA-optimized motor technology for low distortion, heavy-duty 2" voice coil for extreme power handling, and an extended pole piece that improves heat sink and thermal management properties.
STA-500D Sledge Amplifier: The PC-2000 powered subwoofer employs a Sledge STA-500D amplifier with efficient and cool-running Class D topology. The amplifier is conservatively rated at 500 watts RMS and 1100 watts Peak. This amp features a highly advanced DSP processor offering unmatched control over the subwoofer at all volume levels, for distortion free bass.
Variable Controls: The PC-2000 subwoofer has simple and straightforward control options that make integrating the subwoofer into your listening environment an easy task. The control knobs are actually digital actuators for precise and noise-free adjustment.
Inputs & Outputs: Comprehensive and flexible connectivity options allow for easy set-up and integration into your home theater or stereo system
Placement Options: The cylinder cabinet's smaller footprint lends itself to more placement options. Tucked in the corner, the PC-2000 can deliver immense audio punch to movies and music played back at high levels. The cylinder style powered sub is right at home in space- and style-restricted rooms and home theaters, putting truly high end audio performance into a small footprint. If possible, place the subwoofer near the front stage, for best blending with the front and center loudspeaker channels.
Auto/Standby & On Switch: If this switch is set to "Auto/Standby", it will automatically turn-on the powered subwoofer in the presence of an audio signal. If no signal is present for a period of several minutes, the powered subwoofer will enter "Standby" mode, where power consumption will be less than 0.5 watts. If this switch is set to "On", the amplifier will remain on continuously and will not enter "Standby" mode.
Power Status Light: The power status light is located on the front-panel of the powered subwoofer in the upper left corner. The light will illuminate blue when the amplifier is on. The light will illuminate red when the amplifier is in standby mode.
3V-12V Trigger Input: When in standby mode, the powered sub's trigger input (3.5mm) can be used to automatically turn on the powered subwoofer if a signal is sent to this input from another component in the system (like your AV receiver) that features a trigger output.

Was going to go with it's little brother, the sealed sb-2000, but this goes down to 16hz instead of 19hz and it plays a bit louder. Hopefully it will still sound good for music. [ Jason Mar 10, 2017 ]
