About the SVS SoundPath

Turn any powered sub into a wireless sub

The SVS SoundPath can make any powered subwoofer go wireless — including one of the big beasts from SVS' own stellar sub collection. The included transmitter connects to your A/V receiver or amp, and the included wireless receiver connects to your powered subwoofer. Both components have a compact, low-key design that can hide easily in your setup.

Flexibility can lead to better sound (and bigger bass)

When customers set up their home theater system, they often call to ask us about subwoofer placement. I usually recommend moving your sub around the room, if you can. By testing different spots, you can figure out where you get the best sound in your particular space — with the hardest-hitting bass.

Of course, that type of experimentation is much easier when you're not tethered to your A/V receiver, or limited by the length of your subwoofer cable. The SoundPath gives you 40 feet of wireless range to play around with. (Just remember: you'll need to connect the sub and the SoundPath device to an AC outlet.)

Other wireless audio options

The SVS SounPath isn't just limited to subwoofers. It can be used to wirelessly connect any two components where you'd normally use a stereo RCA or mini patch cable. For example, you can send crystal-clear, full-range stereo sound from a source component (or A/V receiver) to a pair of powered speakers across the room.

It transmits a pristine, full-range audio signal up to 65' at CD-quality (16-bit/48KHz) with ultra-low latency. The SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter reduces cable clutter without sacrificing audio performance.

Full-Range Wireless Connectivity: The rated frequency response for transmission is 5Hz to 24,000Hz (+/-1 dB), so the adapter unlocks wireless connectivity for powered speakers, powered subs, AV receivers, and more at CD-quality (16-bit/48KHz) with ultra-low latency (<25.5 milliseconds) within the 2.4GHz frequency band. The SVS SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter has a range of up to 65'.

Notes:
  • The transmitter and receiver are synched at the time of manufacture and will pair automatically when connected and powered on.
  • Avoid placing the transmitter next to other wireless devices that could create signal interference, such as mobile phones, baby monitors, 2.4 GHz wireless phones and 2.4 GHz WiFi routers.
  • Always try to keep a line-of-sight between the transmitter and receiver units with no hard barriers or walls between them for best performance.

Applications: The SoundPath Wireless Audio Adapter adds wireless connectivity and gives you more placement options for your powered subwoofer or powered speakers, while decreasing cable clutter and without sacrificing any audio performance.

Q
Hi. Can I use the wireless connection with two svs 4000 . All the other 5 speakers are connected with XLR cables?

A
Yes. It takes 1 pair of svs 4000 for one Complete speaker connection.

A
I only have one s s sub, it's maybe 15 feet away from receiver works great with wireless connection. I have a marantz , I turn it up to get connected then turn it back down.

Q
Can I connect the receiver transmitter to speaker outputs from my receiver?
[ Mario  Jun 30, 2020 ]

A
Hi Mario. The SVS Soundpath adapters are for use with stereo or mono RCA connections, and would not be compatible with using a speaker level input. Please feel free to contact an Advisor via online chat or by phone at 1-800-324-9695. We will be happy to help answer any other questions you may have.

They only work on 'line output' and not amplified - these are not meant for non-powered speakers. But you could theoretically attach a line out from a receiver.
[ H  Jul 15, 2020 ]
A
Yes. However, these are designed for powered speakers such as my powered sub-woofer. Furthermore, don't plan on using several of these on speaker amplifiers because they will interfere with one other. I suggest that you call SVS and discuss with them what you want to do. BY the way, my SVS unit did not work so I contacted SVS and they immediately sent out a replacement unit and paid for me to ship back the defective unit. The new unit works fine with my powered sub-woofer even though I don't have a direct line of sight path between the amplifier and sub-woofer.
[ JOHN  Jul 14, 2020 ]
A
I'm using them from sub pre outs to a powered sub. I would think any single rca pre out would work.
[ tris  Jul 14, 2020 ]
A
No, it's a line input. Needs RCA to mini.
[ Jeffrey  Jul 14, 2020 ]
A
I think that this is designed to connect to a line level output, like a subwoofer out, not a speaker level output.
[ zsac09  Jul 14, 2020 ]
A
On second thought, No, it will not work unless the speaker is self-powered.
[ Tom  Jul 14, 2020 ]
A
I don't see why not. Try it, you can't hurt anything.
[ Tom  Jul 14, 2020 ]
Q
Can these be used for rear surround speakers or just for subwoofers?
[ New User  May 12, 2020 ]
2 answers
A
Hello the rear surround speakers have to be powered and have the connection like the Subwoofer so I really don't think so Sorry
[ Robert  May 13, 2020 ]
A
Yes. The product information and installation instruction addresses both speaker connection and subwoofer connection. Great produact!
[ CHRIS  May 12, 2020 ]
Q
If I bought one of these what I still need to buy a receiver to go with my powered subwoofer?
[ Joshua  Apr 13, 2020 ]

A
This is wireless communication device only that talks between receiver and subwoofer so yes you need receiver.
[ SUNNY  Apr 14, 2020 ]
A
Mine work great. One is plugged into my Marantz receiver/amp/.... the other is plugged into my powered sub. I would need to more about your total set up to respond to your specific situation. I trust the techs at Crutchfields. give them a call.
[ EVAN  Apr 13, 2020 ]
A
If your existing receiver drives all of your other speakers, plug the SVS SoundPath transmitter into your receiver's subwoofer's output and plug the SVS receiver into your subwoofer's input. Cables are provided with the SVS SooundPath.
[ JOHN  Apr 13, 2020 ]
A
You need a receiver/amp to drive all of your speakers for your home theater sound. The SVS SoundPath enabled me to hide my powered subwoofer in a corner without running a subwoofer cable above the ceiling and through two walls to the receiver. The SVS SoundPath is a wireless link that replaces this subwoofer cable run and it works great in my application.
[ JOHN  Apr 13, 2020 ]
A
No, what you get is both a transmitter and receiver. The transmitter plugs into your audio receiver's subwoofer connector and the receiver plugs into your subwoofer.
[ Stephan  Apr 13, 2020 ]
A
They come in pairs. One receiver and one transmitter per speaker sold together
[ Tom  Apr 13, 2020 ]
A
You need to transmit the signal from your receiver to the other transmitter. You do this by plugging it into the your receivers SUB just like you would a cable. So yes you do
[ David  Apr 13, 2020 ]
A
Yes

For me it came with a transmitter and a receiver as a set. I needed both.
[ clyde  Apr 13, 2020 ]
Q
Can you have two of these operating in the same room?
[ infinity722  Feb 12, 2020 ]

A
I'm going to say yes. If you have one output you will need a "splitter" to feed the two transmitters. I have two subwoofers and I use one transmitter feeding two receivers. Works like a charm.
[ zsac09  Feb 12, 2020 ]
A
I don't know I only have one which works great.
[ John  Feb 12, 2020 ]
A
I own one, but not sure if you can have two on the same room.
[ JAMES  Feb 12, 2020 ]
A
Yes , should not be an issue .
