About the Mosconi D2 100.4
For most folks, driving a Ford or Chevy works out just fine while, for a select few, only a Ferrari or Lamborghini will do. Hand-made in Italy, Mosconi amplifiers take performance to the next level, using a proprietary Class D design to deliver superb sound quality from a small chassis. Their Gladen D2 100.4 amplifier will drive four speakers with up to 105 watts RMS each, with onboard DSP that will make sure every watt sounds its best.
Locally sourced components
Like a gourmet chef keeping a close eye over the quality of his ingredients, company founder and head amp designer Ivan Mosconi sources his electronic components locally, using parts manufactured within 50 miles of his factory. This attention to detail ensures that his high standards of performance are met for every product he manufactures. And every single amplifier is tested before it leaves the factory, so you can count on getting the clean power you paid for.
The professional-grade crossover circuitry can optimize the sound for a variety of speaker configurations. In 4-channel mode, you can use the high-pass filters to keep your front and rear speakers playing clear of extreme low bass rumblings. In 3-channel mode, you can use this amp to run a pair of front speakers along with a subwoofer. In 2-channel mode, you can send up to 300 watts RMS each to a pair of subs. In larger 4-way systems, this amp's B channels can be used to power midbass drivers, by employing a bandpass filter to keep the sound focused properly for each of those speakers.

Overview: The Mosconi Gladen D2 series of amplifiers pack a lot of punch into a small package. These Italian-made amps have a beautiful silver-brushed finish, and can be installed where many amps can't. The D2 100.4 is less than 8" wide, 1-5/8" high, and 5-3/4" deep, and produces 105 watts per channel x 4 channels (at 4Ω). Its Class D design makes it very efficient, with more than 75% of the power going to the speaker outputs.
Crossover Functions: The D2 100.4 features high- and low-pass filters which can be independently controlled. Crossover A (for channels 1 & 2) is a high-pass filter, can be set from 20Hz to 175Hz. Crossover B (for channels 3 & 4) has separate high-pass and low-pass filters which can be simultaneously activated into a band-pass filter. Like Crossover A, the high-pass filter frequency on Crossover B is variable from 20Hz to 175Hz. The low-pass filter on Crossover B is variable from 45Hz to 310Hz. When both filters are activated, a band-pass filter is created. All of the crossovers have a slope of 12dB per octave.
Input: The D2 100.4 allows you to connect your car stereo using line-level or speaker-level signals. If your stereo has preamp outputs, you can use two sets of RCA cables to make the 4-channel connection. You can also feed all four channels from two inputs if needed. If you are connecting the amp to a factory radio, or an aftermarket model without preamp outputs, you can splice the included RCA plug adapters to the stereo's speaker wires and connect it to the amplifier. The amplifier's input sensitivity range is from 0.35V to 16V.
Auto Sense: Auto Sense automatically detects a signal at the input and turns on the amplifier. Auto Sense only works in the High Level input mode, and no REM connection is needed. When using a Line-level input, you will also need to connect a turn-on lead from the stereo to the REM connection on the amp. The Auto Sense switch has three positions: Off, BTL (bridge tied load) or SE (single ended). Most high-powered head units will require the BTL setting, while the SE setting is for low-powered head units.
Output: The D2 100.4 includes an 8-conductor output harness for connecting two pairs of speakers. You'll need to splice speaker wire to the speaker harness to run to each speaker location. You can connect the amplifier in 4-channel mode (four 4Ω speakers), 3-channel mode (two 4Ω speakers in stereo + one 4Ω speaker in bridged mono), or 2-channel mode (two pairs of 4Ω speakers each connected in bridged mode).
Power Connections: The amplifier features set-screw terminals for the power and ground wires. The terminals will accept up to 8-gauge wire. The set screws can be tightened/loosened using the included 2.5mm Allen wrench. The REM (remote) terminal features a recessed 0.11" male quick slide. A crimp-on 0.11" female quick slide is included for terminating the remote turn-on lead. The REM lead can be used as an input or an output. It acts as an input when using a line-level input from the stereo. It can be used as an output, when using Auto Sense and a speaker-level input, to turn on another amplifier in the system.
G-Card Slots / RTC Port: The Mosconi Gladen D2 100.4 has two 1" x 3/8" slots on its front panel for plugging in optional G-Cards. Various G-Cards are available (from the manufacturer), including a Low-Pass & High-Pass Card with a full active crossover. In addition, the amplifier features an RJ-25 modular jack for connecting the optional RTC remote volume control. (Crutchfield does not carry the optional G-Cards or RTC remote volume control at this time.)
