About the Memphis Audio BR10D4
Add some soul to your sound
Add some soul to your sound
When I think of Memphis, I think of great soul music, and Memphis Audio is all about adding some soul to your car's audio system. Their Bass Reference Series BR10D4 10" subwoofer delivers bass that would make Duck Dunn proud, with a double-stitched surround and woven tinsel leads that help keep the sub kicking when you crank it up. And this sub features a reinforced high-density paper cone that stands up to abuse while punching out powerful, warm, "old school" bass.
Made for ported enclosures
The BR10D4 handles up to 400 watts RMS, so make sure you feed it plenty of power. Memphis Audio designed this sub specifically for ported enclosures to maximize its bass impact, and its dual 4-ohm voice coils allow you to draw maximum power from your mono amp. Just add a nice amp and a ported enclosure, and you've got a recipe for bass heaven.
To drive this single subwoofer, we recommend a mono amplifier rated between 225 and 500 watts at 2 ohms. For more information, please refer to our article on How to Match Subwoofers and Amplifiers.

Features
Dual Voice Coils: This woofer features dual 4Ω voice coils, offering wiring flexibility. When the voice coils are wired in parallel, the woofer presents a 2Ω load. When the voice coils are wired in series, the woofer presents an 8Ω load.
Rubber Magnet Boot: A black rubber boot covers the outside edge of the magnet structure to improve the cosmetics of the woofer and protect the magnet during installation. The boot is removable if needed for tight installations.
Sealed Enclosures: Sealed enclosures provide the most control over a woofer and provide accurate sonic reproduction, making them suitable to all types of music. Memphis Audio recommends a sealed enclosure of 1.0 ft³, yielding a -3 dB point of 38 Hz.
Vented Enclosures: Vented (or ported) enclosures typically provide better overall efficiency than sealed so they are suitable for use with smaller amplifiers, giving you more bass output from less power. Memphis Audio recommends a ported enclosure of 1.3 ft³ with a 10-1/2" x 1-1/4" x 17-3/4" slot port, yielding a tuning frequency of 38 Hz and a -3 dB point of 30 Hz.
