A unique silk dome tweeter in an aluminum housing delivers smooth highs accentuated by crisp detail. Memphis Audio VIV60C reviews
i'm actually only giving these a 4.5 star rating to the fact that the first pair i received had two bad tweeters, but thanks to crutchfield's excellent customer service, i had a new pair on the way before i had even sent the bad one's back. okay I've been using memphis products in all of my vehicles since 2001, these new sixfive series components are replacing my memphis MCC6A components up front in the stock location of my acrua tl , my system consist of the 65 series up front, MCS6A coax comp in the rear along with an 8" MCC8 mid bass diver in the factory sub location, one MOJO 12" 512d2 sub(all memphis) I'm running all the speakers of a MC4.125 the sub is getting 1100 watts continuous @ 1ohm from a MC1.1100 (all memphis) all being processed by a rockford 360.3. The overall sound quality of these components, is that they have a flat but clean sound & they can play loud too, the tweets aren't overly bright or in your face & the mid bass isn't boomy sounding, now the midrange can be a lil harsh, but that might depend on the type of music file you're using, i prefer cd's. Keep in mind I'm still using the factory headunit, but i will replace it soon, so that upgrade alone will drastically improve the sound quality of these components & i haven't done any sound treatment to my doors yet. Memphis audio has been around for a long time & they make quality products with a nice price point, so i recommend picking up a pair of these if you can.
Pros: Nice flat clean sound and they play loud
Cons: midrange can be on the harsh side, but that might depend on the type of music file being used

Woofer Size Classification: While Memphis Audio describes this woofer as a 6-1/2", because it requires a larger cutout than a standard 6-1/2" speaker, Crutchfield has traditionally referred to this size as 6-3/4". Please enter you vehicle information to confirm fit in your vehicle.
Phase Plug: The phase plug in the center of the woofer ensures a smooth, flat off-axis frequency response by preventing the high frequency sound waves emanating from one side of the cone from interfering with sound waves from the other side of the cone.
Terminals: The woofers have set screw terminals that will accept bare wire up to 12-gauge. A 2.5mm Allen wrench (not included) is needed to tighten the terminals.
Tweeter Mounting: The tweeters are mounted in a fixed aluminum housing, designed to flush mount. The retaining clips bolt to the back of the housing and hold the tweeter in place.

The low pass crossover for the woofer can be set to 6 dB/octave or 12 dB/octave and the crossover point is 4.8 kHz. A 2.5mm Allen wrench (not included) is needed to remove the crossover cover.
