Superb wireless speaker system
Bill from New York on 3/2/2022
Really nice, room-filling sound. Yes, there are quite a number of ways to connect to the RS250, but I have only used bluetooth to date, and that has worked quite well. I would say its pretty hard to not like the RS250 - the richness of sound and ability to discern individual instruments is very impressive; additionally, while not tiny, the profile is not at all intrusive. Credit to McIntosh for (presumably) listening to the feedback on the RS200 and replacing it with the new and improved RS250. Many companies try and fail to incorporate a sleek retro/cool look, but in my view, the RS250 totally nails it. I also bought the ISO-430 monitor stand from Crutchfield with the RS250 sitting on top of it. A great combo and as usual, really helpful discussion with the pros at Crutchfield!

Beautiful McIntosh RS250
Chi from Great Neck, NY on 2/20/2022
After waiting for 2 months, finally it is in stock and Crutchfield delivered it fast and the package was nicely packed. The unit is beautiful and I love the new led meters which add modern touch. Connected to my network easily, I mainly use airplay, also connect my TV using optical, streaming music and TV sound is smooth, the quality of sound is great, loud and clear, and the bass is powerful. It has good amount of inputs, so far very satisfied, just wish it has audio output so I can connect it to other components connected to stronger speakers and only use the unit's streaming function, it is good that it at least has a headphone out in the front which I can use headphone to audio adaptor to use the port to export audio to other component.
Pros: Beautiful look and beautiful sound, strong bass, smooth streaming
Cons: No audio output

Meh

Not ready for prime time. Running with a Cambridge CXC v2 and ProJect TT. It sounds warm and great and works well for records and airplay streaming but if you intend to use bluetooth for streaming or the optical input for cds you will be greatly disappointed. This unit has a gate on the optical input and BT that opens when it sees signal and shuts when it sees silence but its not fast enough. AT ALL. Almost every cd track I have played so far using those 2 inputs has had the very first second or two cut off. Doesn't happen from track to track during straight play but pretty every time you manually select a track and every first track period. Hopefully McIntosh will fix this in a firmware update. Right now its a pretty huge let down.
Pros: Warm sound. Non-fatiguing.
Cons: Un-usable for CDs
