About the Solidsteel HJ-4

Ideal for serious audio systems

The Solidsteel HJ-4 audio stand was made for high-performance audio components. It minimizes vibrations that can affect the sound quality produced by sensitive electronics. The open shelves provide plenty of space for a turntable, preamp, power amp, and a digital media player.

Quality construction

The HJ-4 stand is designed for ultra-stability. Each shelf is made of solid MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard). Polished steel pillars support each shelf, resting on solid steel decoupling spikes that minimize contact with the shelf below it. The system uses three pillars instead of four to further minimize contact with the floor, and its attendant vibrations.

Product Research

Features

Solidsteel Philosophy: Solidsteel's philosophy is that there should be no compromise in the build quality or benefits to sonic performance, and that the products should reflect the Italian "style" of design with the use of excellent materials, clean lines, well-considered utilization of space, and attention to detail.

Hyperspike Junior (HJ) Series: The Hyperspike Junior Series incorporates the main mechanical characteristics and materials of the "no compromise" reference level Hyperspike range but at a fraction of the cost.

4 Shelf Audio Table: The Solidsteel HJ-4 audio table features 4 fixed shelves. The overall height of the table, and the distance between each shelf, has been carefully calculated to achieve an optimum balance of acoustics and aesthetics.

  • Top Shelf: The top shelf measures 23.3125" (w) x 34.4375" (h) x 20.75" (d), and can support up to 175 lbs.
  • 2 Middle Shelves: The two middle shelves measure 19.75" (w) x 7.3125" (h) x 20.75" (d), and can support up to 175 lbs each.
  • Bottom Shelf: The bottom shelf measures 19.75" (w) x 11.25" (h) x 20.75" (d), and can support up to 175 lbs each.

Polished Steel & MDF Construction: The 4-shelf audio table features a polished steel, three pillar structure with shelves made of  1.2" MDF (medium density fiberboard). The benefits of MDF include a much higher damping factor and superior rigidity over time.

3 Pillar Design: The three pillar design is geometrically positioned to give maximum support and minimum physical contact with the surrounding environment.

Decoupling Spikes: To minimize resonances, each shelf of the HJ-4 is supported on, and therefore isolated from, the frame by decoupling spikes which are positioned to precisely discharge unwanted energies into the chassis. All spurious mechanical energies are then discharged into the ground through the decoupling spike feet at the point where the table legs contact the floor.
