About the Solidsteel S4-2
A fitting home for high-performance audio gear
A fitting home for high-performance audio gear
The Solidsteel S4-2 audio stand was made for audiophile components. High-performance electronics can be extremely sensitive to vibrations, and the S4-2's material and construction provide a virtually vibration-free environment. The two open shelves provide plenty of space for oversized audio components, such as a power amplifier, preamp, or power regenerator.
Solid construction
Each shelf is made of vibration-dampening MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard). The supporting aluminum pillars are packed with dampening material for further stability. Both the pillars and the shelves are coated with a black polymer laminate to further reduce vibration. The S4-2 rests on six pillars, each ending in a solid steel carpet spike that virtually isolates the stand from floor vibrations.

Features
Solidsteel Philosophy: Solidsteel's philosophy is that there should be no compromise in the build quality or benefits to sonic performance, and that the products should reflect the Italian "style" of design with the use of excellent materials, clean lines, well-considered utilization of space, and attention to detail.
S4 Series: Drawing from their prestigious Hyperspike technology, Solidsteel has created the new S4 Series of audio/video tables. The solid and essential structure provides excellent audio performances, while its clean lines make it very pleasing aesthetically - all at a very affordable price.
2 Shelf Audio/Video Table: The Solidsteel S4-2 audio/video table has two fixed shelves. The overall height of the rack, and the distance between each shelf, has been carefully calculated to achieve an optimum balance of acoustics and aesthetics.
- Top Shelf: The top shelf measures 43" (w) x 18.3125" (h) x 16.9375" (d), and can support up to 240 lbs.
- Bottom Shelf: The bottom shelf measures 43" (w) x 12.8125" (h) x 16.9375" (d), and can support up to 240 lbs.
6-Pillar Design: The six pillar design is geometrically positioned to give maximum support and minimum physical contact with the surrounding environment.
Aluminum & MDF Construction: The 2-shelf audio rack features an aluminum six-pillar structure with shelves made of 0.86" MDF (medium density fiberboard). The benefits of MDF include a much higher damping factor and superior rigidity over time. Each pillar is filled with a special damping material until it is in "tune" with the MDF shelves for acoustic balance. The aluminum six-pillar structure & MDF shelves are both finished with a black polymer laminate.
Spike Feet & Protective Discs: The Solidsteel audio rack is outfitted with six decoupling spike feet & protective discs. All spurious mechanical energies are discharged into the ground through the decoupling spike feet & protective discs at the point where the rack legs contact the floor.
