Overview: The August Smart Keypad is an accessory for the August Smart Lock. It attaches to the wall outside your home, and allows you operate the Smart Lock without a smartphone. The Smart Keypad operates on two AAA batteries (supplied), and comes with mounting hardware.
Compatibility: The August Smart Keypad is compatible with both August Smart Lock (ASL-1) and August Smart Lock HomeKit-enabled (ASL-2). You will need the August Home app downloaded to your smart phone (iOS or Android).
Entry Codes: To unlock the Smart Lock using the Smart Keypad, you simply enter the entry code generated for you. Unique codes can be generated for each individual, including guests or service personnel. The unique codes tie your guest's name to each entry so you can keep track of who comes and goes. The Smart Lock and Smart Keypad can create a 24/7 log of who entered your home and when.
Note: To generate Entry Codes, you must be within Bluetooth range of the Smart Lock. August Connect is also needed to connect the Smart Lock to Wi-Fi for remote access.
Battery Life: The Smart Keypad runs on two AAA batteries. The estimated battery life is 3 months.
