ELAC Navis ARB-51 Sound Stage Imaging

Compared to loudspeaker systems composed of discrete, displaced HF/MF and MF/LF drivers, the ELAC Navis has better imaging. However, I have been using Tannoy Active Dual Concentric units since 1990. The Tannoy Dual Concentrics ( models: 600A, Precision 8D, and ellipse 10 idp), in my opinion, have superior point source imaging in the lateral and depth planes. Their time domain response, low distortion, crossover alignment, and 'Tullip' waveguide renders a transparent spherical sound wave front, especially in the near field.

Pros: Relatively small size for a 3 - way active loudspeaker system. Decent imaging. Adequate wide frequency range output power.

Fantastic speakers, not much to add to what's been said before, though one unexpected feature was the auto-off... comes a bit too quickly for me, and when you begin sending a signal to them, they take a second or so to recognize it and power up.

A Cost/Benefit Solution To your Musical Quest

Crutchfield customer from Hales Location, NH on 5/14/2019

This product combines the speaker attributes that I have found most worthy in years of critical listening. As point source speakers, they offer an exceptional image, in my experience only delivered by my Spendor LS/35A's. Their clarity and impact (augmented by a Revel subwoofer) equals that of my Magneplanars. Their total musical presentation is remarkably similar to that of my Monitor Audio Platinum floor standers. I have tried many speakers and kept a few top performers but I have never seen a more remarkable bargain, and you don't even need an amplifier.

Pros: 99% of Your Listening Goals at a Fraction of What the Fanatics Pay The "Fit and Finish" is in league with Sonus Faber and Wilson.

Cons: The stands: A little short and accompanied by assembly instructions akin to the broken English tissue paper jobs of the last century. Please just take a few pictures, use the Crutchfield website, drop the cheesy sketches...or just put out a Youtube video.

Great sound, and great looking!

Wonderful pair of speakers. They're connected to a Brooklyn DAC+ and a WA22 pre-amp from Woo Audio. You can't help but smile. Crystal clear sound, vocals sound terrific, base is hearty, I can feel it in the floor. I have gain set to low, and it's plenty loud. I'd recommend these speakers - plus they look great!

Pros: Sound Look Easy setup

Cons: Black speaker stands only Speaker stands are short
