About the ELAC Protek PB-30S

Athena H.

Space-saving design

ELAC's PB-30S is space-saving power protection choice. It plugs directly into a wall outlet behind your TV, giving you three protected outlets, one of which rotates for more installation flexibility. The pass-through coaxial RF connections are built into a rotating module, and they provide protection from any surges that may travel through your TV's input signal path. The ‘30S also offers EMI/RFI filtration for clean power, resulting in superior audio and video quality for your media. It protects your sensitive equipment up to 1080 joules within a nanosecond from power surges and under-voltage situations.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The ELAC Protek PB-30S is an on-wall surge protector with 3 AC outlets and a Coax in/out pair. Two of the AC outlets are in a fixed position on the side, while the third is located on the bottom. The bottom outlet can be rotated 90 degrees, if desired. In addition, the PB-30S has two female F-connectors for protecting the coax signal cable to your TV. The coax pair can also rotate from the bottom to the side panel, if needed. This low-profile surge protector simply plugs into a standard single-gang wall outlet, and provides an easy way to protect your electronic devices from damaging electrical surges and spikes. The surge protector has a black front panel and a white rear panel. The PB-30S is covered by a limited lifetime warranty, and a $50,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee.

Surge Protection: The Protek Surge Protector keeps your electronic devices safe from devastating power surges caused by lightning or power outages. Its internal technology provides up to 1080 joules of surge protection with a 1 nanosecond (1 billionth of a second) response time. It has a maximum spike current rating of 72,000A or 6 KV (6000 volts). It has a fire-retardant ceramic casing and a high temperature resistance. It features L-N, L-G, N-G protection modes and Thermal Fusing. When the Surge Protector is operating properly and prevents an energy surge from damaging electrical equipment, the surge protective component will disconnect from the circuit, and the product will need to be replaced. The surge protector has a front panel LED that glows to indicate when your plugged-in devices are grounded and protected.

Coax Connectors: The PB-30S features two Coax connectors (in/out pair) for protecting your TV and other equipment from surges that travel through the antenna, cable TV, or satellite cable to your TV. The connectors are not marked, so you can connect the input and output cables to either connector.

EMI/RFI Filtering: In addition to protecting your devices from power surges and lightning strikes, the PB-30S filters EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio frequency interference), reducing the noise by up to 50dB between 100kHz and 1 MHz (and up to 40dB for basic filtration). EMI and RFI can adversely affect the performance of your electronic devices, including your A/V equipment.

Installation: The PB-30S is a current tap that simply plugs into a standard, single-gang wall outlet, without removing the wall plate. This allows you to move the surge protector frequently, if desired.

Connected Equipment Guarantee: The ELAC Protek PB-30S Surge Protector features a $50,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee. In the event that damage is caused to equipment while it is plugged into the covered Protek Surge Suppressor, and the damage is determined to have been caused by a defect in the suppressor's materials or workmanship, ELAC will repair, replace, or reimburse the customer for the value of the connected products. Terms and conditions apply.
