Overview: The ELAC Protek PB-82S is a strip-style surge protector with 8 AC outlets and 2 USB ports. Five of the AC outlets are arranged on one side, spaced narrowly apart, and the remaining three outlets spaced apart to accommodate the wider "wall wart" AC adapters. In addition, the PB-82S has two USB Type A ports for charging and protecting your USB-powered portable electronic devices.The low-profile surge protector is only 1-1/4" high, and has a 6-foot power cable. The wall plug is angled so it protrudes only 5/8" from the wall when plugged in. The PB-82S has a black top panel and a white bottom panel and power cord. The surge protector comes with a limited lifetime warranty, and carries a $100,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee.

Surge Protection: The Protek Surge Protector keeps your electronic devices safe from devastating power surges caused by lightning or power outages. Its internal technology provides up to 2160 joules of surge protection with a 1 nanosecond (1 billionth of a second) response time. It has a maximum spike current rating of 144,000A or 6 KV (6000 volts). It has a fire-retardant ceramic casing and a high temperature resistance. It features L-N, L-G, N-G protection modes and Thermal Fusing. When the Surge Protector is operating properly and prevents an energy surge from damaging electrical equipment, the surge protective component will disconnect from the circuit, and the product will need to be replaced. The surge protector has two top panel LEDs that glow to indicate when your plugged-in devices are properly grounded and protected.

Power Switch/Breaker Reset: The PB-82S has a power switch next to the power cord inlet that lets you turn power on and off to the AC outlets and USB ports. The switch also acts as a reset for the built-in circuit breaker, allowing you to turn the outlets back on if the breaker trips.

USB Ports: The PB-82S features two USB Type A charging ports for plugging in your USB-powered devices. Not only will the ports charge your devices, but they protect your sensitive electronics from AC surges. The USB ports are rated at 5V and 3.4A total.

EMI/RFI Filtering: In addition to protecting your devices from power surges and lightning strikes, the PB-82S filters EMI (electromagnetic interference) and RFI (radio frequency interference), reducing the noise by up to 40dB. EMI and RFI can adversely affect the performance of your electronic devices, including your A/V equipment.

Installation: The corded PB-82S plugs into a properly grounded AC wall outlet, and can be placed on the floor or wall-mounted. Two keyhole slots, spaced 4-1/2" apart, are provided on the bottom for mounting to the wall or inside a cabinet. No mounting hardware is included.

Connected Equipment Guarantee: The ELAC Protek PB-82S Surge Protector features a $100,000 Connected Equipment Guarantee. In the event that damage is caused to equipment while it is plugged into the covered Protek Surge Suppressor, and the damage is determined to have been caused by a defect in the suppressor's materials or workmanship, ELAC will repair, replace, or reimburse the customer for the value of the connected products.
