About the Atlas F6-AMIX

Add a voice and a music channel to a F6-MF system

Atlas Sound makes it easy to add functionality to your F6-MF amplifier system. The F6-AMIX analog mixer card plugs into the amplifier's frame, adding summed stereo RCA inputs for background music, along with a balanced microphone/line input for paging and announcements, to the F6-MF's six channels. The F6-AMIX routes the RCA and mic/line channels to any combination of the F6-MF's outputs you like, and can mute channels when the mic is active or its button pressed.

8 input channels

The F6-AMIX features rotary level controls for the RCA and mic/line inputs as well as for the other six channels of the F6-MF, so you can dial in the proper volume for each zone serviced by each amplified output. You can attenuate the RCA and mic/line input levels remotely via the mixer's VCA connections and optional Atlas Sound remote volume controls for even further mastery over the sound distribution. Phantom power is available so you can use a condenser microphone if you want.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Atlas F6-AMIX is an 8 input by 6 output analog mixer module designed to be installed and used specifically with the Atlas F6-MF modular power rack along with FM250-70 amp modules for 70 volt systems or FM250-4 amp modules for 4/8 Ω systems (all sold separately). The F6-AMIX module is feature loaded with summed stereo RCA and Mic/Line inputs with global assignment, signal mixing and remote level control, along with Mute priority capabilities. This increased functionality and value reduces the need for additional external devices for more complex paging and background music systems.

Inputs: The F6-AMIX includes a summed stereo RCA input along with a 3-pin Euroblock (Phoenix) connector that can accept balanced Line or Mic level signals. The mixer module also includes three 2-pin Euroblock connectors for remote operation of these parameters:

  • Mic/Line RMT Level: This input allows remote level control of the Mic/Line input with a 10 kΩ potentiometer, such as the WPD-VC10K Wall-Mount Level Control (sold separately), which can be placed up to 200 ft. away. The control works as an attenuator only and does not boost the signal.
  • RCA RMT Level: Similar the Mic/Line RMT Level, this input allows remote level control of the summed RCA input using a 10 kΩ potentiometer like the WPD-VC10K (sold separately). Control is an attenuator only.
  • RMT Mute Ext. SW: Mutes the main output signal when these two pins are shorted together, either with a push-button or toggle switch.

Controls: The mixer module's controls include:

  • Channel Input Level: Six recessed rotary dials control the signal level for each of the six inputs along with any combined RCA and Mic/Line signals. These Channel Levels are pre Main Frame front panel Level Controls and must be on for signal to be sent to the front panel Level Controls.
  • RCA Level: This recessed rotary dial controls the RCA Input signal level.
  • Mic/Line Level: This recessed rotary dial controls the Mic/Line Input signal level.
  • VOX Sens: This recessed rotary dial adjusts the sensitivity of the VOX (Voice Activated) Mute circuit. Each channel can be individually assigned to be muted when the Mic/Line input is used, such as with a paging microphone. Turning the VOX Sens clockwise increases the sensitivity while turning counterclockwise decreases it.

DIP Matrix: A 12- and a 10-DIP switch matrix are included for assigning certain functions to each of the 6 channels.

  • 12-Switch DIP:
    • Switches 1 - 6: Assign the RCA input to Channels 1 - 6.
    • Switches 7 - 12: Assign the Mic/Line input to Channels 1 - 6.
  • 10-Switch DIP:
    • Switch 1: Not used
    • Switch 2 (Mic/Line): Determines the type of input signal on the Mic/Line Input.
    • Switch 3 (PHT): This provides 15 VDC of phantom power to the Mic/Line input when using a condenser microphone.
    • Switches 4 - 9: These 6 switches determine which Channels will be muted when the Mic input is used.
    • Switch 10: Determines if the RCA input will be muted with the Mic input.
