Q
How are speaker wires secured in these plugs? I see no screws, etc. that would hold the wire in place.
[ New User  Jun 04, 2018 ]

A
The wires are held in by screws, use a jewel's screwdriver to loosen the screw, than insert the wire through the side hole and tighten the screw to clamp the wire in place.
[ PAUL  Jun 06, 2018 ]
A
In order to secure the wire there are screws inside the back of the plug. Once you thread thr wire through the holes on the side of the plug, use a straight screwdriver to tighten the screw which holds the wire in place. You will probably have to loosen this screw to thread the wire through the hole on the side of the plug. These plugs work well on the speaker side of the wire. They may not work on your receiver. You may have to use single plugs for that. The double plug is great for phasing your speakers. The have a bump on the side which you can use to put the plug in correctly.
[ Charles  Jun 05, 2018 ]
A
The plug contains two screws for the positive and negative wires. The plugs worked very well for my application.
[ Michael  Jun 04, 2018 ]
A
A small electronic-style flathead screwdriver was used to secure the wire through the rear of the banana connector (look in the hole of the fitting), the screw fits in the rear of the plug (though it can't be seen in the pics).
[ Jean  Jun 04, 2018 ]
A
There are screws, you can see them on the top of the fitting. One on each plug.
[ Luther Ray  Jun 04, 2018 ]
Q
What is the thickest gauge wire this plugs will accept?
[ Mitch  Dec 10, 2016 ]

A
12 gauge wire barely fits in this plug. The only way I could make it fit was to trim a few strands away from the wire. Lesser gauge fit easily.
[ Charles  Jun 05, 2018 ]
A
Fits a14 fine . I don't know if it will accept a 12 gauge but i think it will.
