Standalone Series Surge Eliminators: The SurgeX Standalone product line is engineered to safeguard independent audio and video equipment in any environment. This compact surge protection solution fits alongside standalone equipment, takes up minimal space, and is perfect for AV, security, and computer systems that are installed outside of a rack. With SurgeX, your connected equipment will be protected from destructive spikes, surges, and inductive transients that can cause disruptions and catastrophic damage.
A-1-1 Certified Surge Protection: All SurgeX products meet Grade A, Class 1, Mode 1 surge protection certification. Grade A guarantees protection from the worst surges normally found within a building during a lightning strike (as defined by IEEE/ANSI C62.41-1991). Class 1 provides the best quality surge suppression, while Mode 1 guarantees that the system ground is not contaminated.
- Survived 1,000 surges of 6,000V/3000A with no failures or degradation
- Let-through voltage did not exceed 330V
- Ground was not contaminated
Advanced Series Mode Surge Elimination Technology: Featuring Advanced Series Mode surge elimination technology, the SurgeX Standalone product line provides premium protection for sensitive equipment that relies on audio and video performance. Its patented power protection technology is non-sacrificial and eliminates surge energy up to 6,000 Volts, without producing harmful side effects such as ground contamination or common mode disturbances that can degrade the performance of AV systems.
Non-Sacrificial: Most importantly, SurgeX surge eliminators do not incorporate sacrificial components of any kind, effectively guaranteeing an unlimited service life without the requirement for testing and/or periodic maintenance.
No Ground Contamination: SurgeX surge eliminators act first as low pass filters which simply block the high-frequency (HF) components of powerline surges. The remaining low-frequency (LF) surge energy is diverted into a bank of capacitors where it is stored for the duration of the event and then slowly discharged back across the incoming hot and neutral conductors without involving any connection to equipment ground. SurgeX surge eliminators can thus be placed anywhere along a power circuit without the ground reference elevation disadvantage of many other surge protection devices.
EMI/RFI Filtering: The SurgeX SA-15 utilizes advanced impedance tolerant EMI/RFI filters to virtually eliminate any line noise.
- EMI: Electromagnetic interference is a general type of electric, radio or magnetic interference which is transmitted by conduction or radiation and can be of a very wide frequency range.
- RF interference: Radio frequency interference is interference which is caused by radio signals.
Dual Industrial-Grade Outlets: The SurgeX SA-15 is equipped with two industrial-grade 3-prong AC outlets ("Always On"). Plug your equipment's power cords into the receptacles as needed to provide safe, filtered power to the equipment. You can also daisy-chain SurgeX products together if you need more outlets. You can even connect your current surge protector, line-conditioner, or outlet strip into the SurgeX SA-15. Each receptacle is rated for a maximum load of 15 amps, but the total load also must not exceed 15 amps.
8' Attached Power Cord: The SurgeX SA-15 features an attached 8' power cord that is terminated by a 3-prong AC plug. The SA-15 is rated for a maximum load of 15 amps.
Rubber Feet: The SurgeX SA-15 includes four self-adhesive rubber feet. The rubber feet can be attached to the underside of the unit to prevent damage to cosmetic surfaces or to prevent the unit from slipping on a smooth surface.
Self-Test Light: The green Self-Test light indicates that power is applied to the unit and the internal surge protection circuitry is fully functional. If this light is not on when the unit is plugged into the AC outlet, check that AC power is present at the receptacle where the unit is plugged in.
Warranty Information: SurgeX offers a limited lifetime product warranty on their surge eliminators and a limited five year connected protection warranty on equipment (up to $50,000) connected to the SurgeX surge protector/line-conditioner.
Made In The USA: The SurgeX Standalone product line offers quality craftsmanship and is made in the USA.
