1. Get a Return Authorization
To start a return, log into your Crutchfield account. If your item was shipped by freight carrier, was shipped direct from the manufacturer, or involves a defective product, please contact a Crutchfield Support representative before setting up a return online.
You may also call 1-800-316-1044 or to set up a return. A Crutchfield Support representative will be happy to help.
2. Pack your items carefully
Returned items must be new and in the original packaging, complete with all original accessories and manuals. To protect products in shipping, Crutchfield over-boxes most products. Please use the original over-box and the manufacturer’s packaging.
3. Attach the shipping label
For most returns, you will receive a UPS Authorized Return Service (ARS) shipping label along with your return authorization number. Remove or completely cover up the original labels, then securely tape one completed ARS label to each package.
4. Give the package to UPS
Refund or exchange? You may choose an exchange or a refund for the full amount of the items you purchased. Refunds will be issued to the same credit card, debit card, gift certificate, or other form of payment used in the original transaction.
Shipping costs. Return shipping costs are deducted from your merchandise credit or refund.
For most returns, Crutchfield can issue you an UPS Authorized Return Shipping (ARS) label for a flat fee of $12 per package.
Freight shipping: Some items, like larger TVs, furniture, and large tower speakers require special freight shipping, and cost more to return. A Crutchfield Support rep will help determine exact shipping cost of freight items when setting up your return. Some examples:
International shipping: UPS ARS labels are not valid for international shipping or shipping from US territories other than Puerto Rico. You are responsible for any international shipping charges or duties.
Like-new condition. Crutchfield may refuse a customer return or charge a restocking fee when the returned item is not like new. Conditions that will lead to refused returns or restocking fees include when the returned item has:
We will notify you: We will email you confirming that the return was processed.
We will process your exchange or refund. After we receive your return, we normally process your exchange or refund within 2 business days (M-F). Once we issue a refund, the funds are typically available in your bank account within 5 business days. (Some banks or financial institutions may take longer.)
Please return the item at either one of our retail stores in Charlottesville or Harrisonburg. If you cannot bring it back to the retail store, or if you bought it online or over the phone, please give us a call at 1-800-316-1044 and we will help you arrange a return.
