Q
In order for this to work with my Nikon d3200 do I have to also purchase the Nikon WU-1a in order for this to work since it is wireless?
tabatha  Jan 12, 2015

A
No, the camera has the infrared built in to receive the signal from the ML-L3. The WU-1A is a stand alone unit that plugs into the camera to use it with a smart phone, it acts like a remote, but also allows you to send the pics to your smart phone after you take them. I bought the ML-L3 first since it was priced in my budget at the time and later bought the WU-1A, I have not used the ML-L3 since. Hope this helps.

I use it with a D7000. It should work with no additional equipment on a D3200. The infared signal should work just fine.
