CES Spotlight: Alpine INE-W927HD Navigation Receiver

I've been a camera nut all my life, so it makes sense I'd end up being a video producer. Of course, it has been a roundabout journey for me, as I started at Crutchfield in 2007 writing about car audio gear. Over the years I've learned about all the electronic items we sell, and it is my job to make sure we are making videos that you will find useful, whether you're shopping for something specific or trying to install some new gear yourself. My job is a lot of fun because I get to play around with all the cool stuff you see on our website while I'm making videos about it. Getting hands-on with the gear helps me see what I should show you about a product, though the flip side is my personal wish list is a mile long...

Zak: I'm at CES 2013 at the Alpine booth with Steve and he's gonna tell us about new AVN receivers.

Steve: Well yeah, Zak. Last year we introduced the world's first 8" AVN system — that's the INE-Z928HD. And that's the unit you see up on the display right here. Now the 8" radio is great. People love it. They love the feature set. But unfortunately, some vehicles are so tight in the dash area that it's really difficult to get that larger screen in. So our customers asked and we responded. So for this year, 2013, we're offering a 7" version of the 8" radio. All of the same features that the customers like about the 8" radio, but now in a 7" package so it'll fit in any car dash that has a double-DIN application. So it really widens the application for our AVN technology.

Zak: Great. Thanks Steve.
