|What's the story?
Over the weekend of September 7-8, the latest chapter of the NOPI's The Fast and the Furious Racing Series rolled into the Bradenton Motorsports Park, near Tampa, Florida. As at every NOPI show, there was plenty to see and enjoy, including vendor booths, a two-day swimsuit competition, lots of customized cars and trucks, live musical entertainment, and, on Saturday night, a StreetGlow glow-off, and a huge foam party. The focus of it all, of course, was the races, where drivers competed for points in several racing classes, in pursuit of the XBox cup (and the accompanying national recognition) that's awarded at the end of the year.
As expected, the races themselves were intense, and several racers put up very impressive times in the quarter-mile. If you'd like to see a list of the winners from the weekend, plus car show highlights and more pictures, click here.
Off the track, the show was in high gear. On the vendor midway, there were plenty of options for visitors. Microsoft® brought its XBox tent, offering free game demonstrations. Toyo Tires and StreetGlow offered people lots to look at. At the Crutchfield booth, our team was able to meet many of the folks who attended the show, which is always a great time.
On stage, the musical entertainment and swimsuit contests drew large crowds, as they always do. And on Saturday night, the glow-off and foam party were big crowd pleasers.
As we've come to expect, the Tampa edition of NOPI's nationwide racing series was a good time for all. We'll certainly be taking our booth to as many shows in the future as possible. Check out our Event Calendar to see what's coming to your area. If you decide to come on out, be sure and stop by our booth and say hello!
