Greg D's 2003 Nissan 350z

I started my Crutchfield career as a product advisor. I fielded thousands of customer questions about A/V equipment, designing systems for homes, cars, and the occasional party bus. Do that for eight years, and you begin to understand what people really want from their gear. You also get a lot of hands-on experience with the latest products. That's one of the coolest things about working here. As a writer, I enjoy translating technical jargon into easy-to-understand language. My goal is to make shopping for speakers and amplifiers simple. After all, this stuff is supposed to be fun! Outside of work, I enjoy playing and teaching music. I'm always on the lookout for interesting left-handed guitars.

Q&A Section

Why did you decide to upgrade your A/V system?

I've always wanted my own system in a really nice car. well I got my 350z and then I thought where the heck is my system! so I went out and took the best brands I liked and put them together into the best system for me!

What's the first thing you show people about your installation?

the first thing I would show any one would be the Custom Enclosure with my Subwoofers, the way they fit like a glove in the back of my 350z and how everyhting just works together and creates an amazing system!

Why did you choose these products?

I've chose all my products because Jl Audio and Pioneer are two amazing companies for car stereo products!

What was the most difficult part of the installation?

most Difficult part of my entire installation was Not beig there to stand by my car to make sure thing were going as planned and the way I wanted it to come out!

What plans, if any, do you have for future upgrades?

I am going to be adding a 15" BTL or Jl Audio subwoofer. I am going to be gettin brand new componet speaker all Jl Audio, and I am currently looking for a new shallow mount 10 inch to replace my old bose 10 inch subwoofer

My name is Greg DeBoer, and I was the one who owned this car. I would like to start out by stating that The parts that I bought from Crutchfield for this Build were absolutely amazing. The parts were more than worth the price, and they delivered them directly to my mothers house while I was over seas. > Now, I won't bash on Extreme car audio, but I thought I had a friend down there who would follow my exact instructions. See, I know how to install a system, and I would have had no issues installing it my self, however Being in Iraq and coming home for 10 days doesn't exactly leave me much time to enjoy the car, family, and my 21st birthday. I splurged, and spent an inordinate amount of money to have a friend at extreme install it. They followed my every instruction, and then posted it on their page like it was "Their" idea, and their build. -- I have nothing against them. The car was my build, and my idea. I told them exactly what I wanted, and I even had the box measured and built from a company to the exact specs for the Subs so I could get premium sound quality. I loved this car when I had it. It was the one piece of Freedom that I still wish I could enjoy! Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed the story of my build.
