Did your receiver's Pandora® app quit working?

Here's what you need to know

Pandora is suddenly not working with a bunch of A/V receivers

A recent network update at Pandora has caused login failures for a number of home theater receivers and other Wi-Fi® equipped A/V components.

We’re currently aware of several Denon and Marantz models that were impacted by this change. The manufacturers are releasing firmware updates to resolve the issue. We've also heard from a few Yamaha customers who had trouble connecting to Pandora.

If you own a Denon receiver, you can find the firmware release date for your model here.

Check here if you own a Marantz receiver.

If you own a Yamaha receiver and cannot connect to Pandora, Yamaha recommends downloading the latest firmware to update your receiver. Visit their download site and enter your receiver's model number to see updates and instructions.

In the meantime...

You can still stream Pandora from your mobile device via Bluetooth® if you’re waiting on a firmware update.

iOS® users can stream Pandora to the receiver using the Apple® AirPlay® feature.

If your TV, Blu-ray player, or video game system has Pandora on it, you can play it through your receiver that way.

Deleting your Pandora account from your receiver and adding it back on may also work.

REMEMBER: We offer free tech support on everything we sell, for as long as you own it. Give us a call if you need any help with your purchase.

After the firmware upgrade I had Pandora directly through my AVR x1100W. Untill today that is. Woke up and wanted to listen to Christmas music and none of the apps worked through my Denon. It is not a network issue since I can turn on my Blu ray and have all of the apps working so it is definately the receiver.

My Onkyo 828 just stopped connecting to Pandora. It has been working for years. Have you heard from Onkyo owners with the same problem. I have determined that it is not my internet connection because my Blueray player sitting below the receiver connects to Pandora without any problem.

I have a problem with my Onkyo TXN-709 connecting to pandora. It worked for years and the receiver also connects with other app's. Is Onkyo going to fix this?

Hi Michael and Bob. This is a known issue affecting Pandora compatible Onkyo receiver models from 2013 and earlier. Onkyo is currently working on a fix for this. We'll add more details in the comments section here as they become available. Thanks.

Hi Michael. The '929 is a 2013 model, so it is one of the ones affected by the current Pandora issue. We'll post an update here once we have more information from Onkyo.

My Onkyo is a TX 8050.... 2011 model I believe... Same thing with Pandora. Will not play anymore... just an error msg. Internet is fine. I've downloaded the latest firmware..and updated the onkyo app. I just don't understand. (Sad face)

Wish I could delete my previous post. Today, after hours of trying to fix the pandora / onkyo problem... I finally decided to delete my Pandora account. (Problem-the email address for it was obsolete and I couldn't remember my password so it would not let me delete without a phone call. Who has time for that.) So I signed out... and created a brand new Pandora account. Now my onkyo tx8050 notices pandora and plays just fine over my outdoor speakers. All fixed. Just that simple. (Argh!)
