Video: 2013 Pioneer car amplifiers
Compact and stable powerhouses
I've been a camera nut all my life, so it makes sense I'd end up being a video producer. Of course, it has been a roundabout journey for me, as I started at Crutchfield in 2007 writing about car audio gear. Over the years I've learned about all the electronic items we sell, and it is my job to make sure we are making videos that you will find useful, whether you're shopping for something specific or trying to install some new gear yourself. My job is a lot of fun because I get to play around with all the cool stuff you see on our website while I'm making videos about it. Getting hands-on with the gear helps me see what I should show you about a product, though the flip side is my personal wish list is a mile long...

Pioneer's versatile 2013 car amplifiers help you get needed power to your speakers and subs. They're compact, powerful, and even 1-ohm stable so it's easy to match subs.
Zak: I'm at the Pioneer booth at CES 2013, and Harry, I'm hearing good things about Pioneer amplifiers this year.
Harry: I'll bet you are Zak. We are, we've got a couple of new amps that are really killer, and they're very special designs - new designs from Pioneer. We're gonna start off with the GMD-8604. It's a four-channel Class D full range amp, okay. Max power on it is about 1200 watts, and it can go all the way down to 1-ohm, which is something that's pretty new for Pioneer.
Okay these two over here, GMD-8601 and right behind you 9601, okay. They're both monoblock amps, and pretty big power handling, or power output, okay - 1600 watts here and 2400 watts output power here. It's got a very cool carbon fiber look to the whole thing, which kind of matches up with some of our new subs, with a very cool carbon fiber look to them as well on the cone.
Zak: Great. Thank you, Harry.
