Voiceover: Ben from Cambridge Audio held a training session at Crutchfield so we asked him to explain the features of some popular products.

Ben: The 851N is our new flagship reference network music player. It connects to a home network with either a wired or a Wi-Fi connection. And once you've got that connection to your network you can play back music from just about anywhere. So that's from any UPnP server or NAS Drive music that it sees on your network: internet radio-Spotify, Connect, AirPlay. You'll see on the front panel we've got a nice 4.3" color display and that can be used to view album artwork from network music, even from internet radio stations. The 851N uses twin analog devices-DACs.

Analog devices are like the Rolls Royce of the DAC world and we've got two of them inside the 851N which is coupled to our proprietary ATF audio upsampling. So all audio wherever you're playing it back from it is all upsampled by that ATF system to 24/384 before its output as an analog signal. And the big advantage of ATF audio upsampling is it eliminates digital jitter. So the 851N has got a variety of Toslink and S/PDIF digital inputs as well as full asynchronous USB audio input for streaming from your computer, balanced AES/EBU digital inputs, and it even works with the optional BT100 Bluetooth receiver.

The 851N uses our latest and most powerful streaming module which allows you to playback a wide variety of audio formats all the way up to 24/192 resolution. If you've got a Wi-Fi network that's robust enough the 851N can even play back 24/192 files over Wi-Fi. What we also use inside the 851N is a nice big toroidal transformer which gives us an extremely low noise flow-low distortion, low noise. Obviously you can see we use the nice 851 series case work so it's a full acoustically damped metal case work which eliminates as much vibration as we possibly can. The Cambridge connect app can be used as a full remote control for our network music players which is available for IOS and Android devices.
