JBL OnBeat Xtreme speaker dock
Tara: We're here at CES 2012 and we're looking at JBL's OnBeat Xtreme. So what can you tell us about this one?
JBL: Well there's a lot to tell the OnBeat Xtreme, Tara. This is a premium iPad/iPhone docking solution that we're really excited about. The OnBeat Xtreme we put at the very top of our model list. It's got tremendous sound:lots of bass, really crisp, clean highs. There's actually 30 watts of amplification built into it. So when you're talking about the best premium sound quality for your iPad or iPhone, that is the OnBeat Xtreme.
The other really neat thing is that we actually designed and built an app for it. This app, when you dock your iPad into the OnBeat Xtreme, gives you a basically different modes that you can select, from gaming to music to movies to chat. It actually optimizes the sound quality of the OnBeat extreme for those particular scenarios.
In addition to great sound quality and being able to rotate and use your iPad, its wireless because there's Bluetooth technology built-in. So now I can take my iPad away from the dock and be able to listen to music from my couch, be able to switch songs. I can watch a movie right from my couch, but still enjoy great sound quality from the OnBeat Xtreme from across the room.
One other really cool thing is that built into the OnBeat Xtreme is a microphone, so you're able to do Face Time video calls and be able to hear the sound quality, and be able to talk to your loved ones essentially right through the OnBeat Xtreme.
