Samsung ES8000 series TVs
Tara: Some of Samsung's higher end televisions for 2012 have two really cool new technologies voice control and gesture control.
Voice control lets you actually make adjustments using your voice. So you say "Hi TV," and you're able to change sources, raise the volume, lower the volume, change channels up and down, even mute and un-mute just using your voice. And you can also go onto the internet functionality using your voice, too.
"Channel up, volume up, volume up, mute, mute, more, cancel, source."
Gesture control is available in certain screens, and that's where you will move your hand and when you move your hand it moves a cursor on the screen. So if you wanted to select Netflix, let's say, you move your hand and moving the cursor on top of Netflix, then you close your hand and it selects the item for you.
So two really cool new technologies which would be absolutely perfect if you find yourself sitting on the couch, the remote across the room, and you want to mute the TV or you want to open Netflix or even just switch sources.
