Learn about Samsung's LED-backlit C6500 and C6800 LCD HDTVs in this short Crutchfield video review. These Internet-ready sets let you stream movies from Netflix® and more.
Tara: We're here in the Crutchfield video studio with Malcolm, one of our advisors, to talk about Samsung's 6500 and 6800 LED LCD TVs. So we're going to start with the 6500. What makes this TV stand out?
Malcolm: This TV has an excellent picture. It offers LED backlighting technology which really gives you deeper black levels, enhances the contrast ratio overall, and actually makes it a bit more efficient as well.
Tara: And it's Netflix compatible too.
Malcolm: That's correct. It actually will allow you to stream content from your instant queue on Netflix also as well as content from You Tube and Blockbuster as well as quite a few other options. Now the TV is also DLNA compliant, which allows you to network this TV with your home PC so you can take any music or movies or photos that you have on there and view them on here with your friends and family.
Tara: Who would you recommend the 6500 for?
Malcolm: This is a TV for someone who's looking for great picture quality across the board and also wants to incorporate their home PC as well as any sort of streaming internet content that they might be interested in.
Tara: Next up is the 6800, which has something called precision dimming.
Malcolm: That's right. Precision dimming allows the TV to break the LED backlights down into segments so they can be individually lightened or darkened. If you have a scene in a movie that has a very dark section and a very bright section it allows you to further enhance this and really bring the picture to life. Now this is a TV that I would recommend for someone who is looking for the absolute best in performance. To find out more about these TVs just visit us at crutchfield.com.
