Samsung's UNC7000 and UNC8000 are packed with the latest technologies. They're 3D-ready, and also boast an impressive 2D picture, thanks in part to LED backlighting. And they're Internet-ready, so they'll give you access to Netflix®, Pandora, and much more. Learn more about these sets in an interview with Malcolm, an Advisor here at Crutchfield.
Tara: We're here in the Crutchfield video studio with Malcolm, one of our advisors, to talk about Samsung's 7000 and 8000 series LED LCD TVs. So we're going to start with the C7000 series TVs. And something that's really big this year is 3D TV.
Malcolm: That's right. The C7000 actually is 3D-ready. It has the built-in emitter to send the signal out to the 3D glasses. All you need is a 3D Blu-ray player as well as the 3D glasses and the 3D Blu-rays themselves.
Tara: And there's a lot of other content coming out this year too.
Malcolm: There is. There will be a lot coming forth throughout the year, even the World Cup.
Tara: And this TV will give you a great picture from kind of more traditional 2D content, right?
Malcolm: That's correct. Whether you're watching standard definition, high definition, or 3D it's really going to give you the best performance across the board. The TV is LED backlit which means it'll give you deeper black levels, better contrast over all , and a bit more efficient as well.
Tara: Something I really like about these TVs is that you can watch Netflix when you connect to the internet.
Malcolm: That's correct. You can stream movies right from your instant queue with Netflix. You can also view content from You Tube as well as take advantage of Blockbuster- a lot more as well.
Tara: And it's DLNA compatible too.
Malcolm: It is. This really makes the TV able to interact with the rest of the entertainment system in your home, including your home PC. You can view movies, photos, and listen to music right off your home PC. It's not difficult to do at all. It's something that's very easy and very intuitive so everybody can enjoy it.
Tara: And who would you recommend the C7000 for?
Malcolm: The C7000 is definitely for someone who's looking to incorporate all the facets of entertainment in their home easily and very intuitively and get a great performance across the board.
Tara: Next up we're going to talk about the C8000 series. And how do they differ from the 7000?
Malcolm: Well the 8000 is basically the 7000 with the addition of precision dimming. This allows the TV to more specifically control the LED backlights so that it can make brighter portions of the picture brighter and dark portions of the picture even darker. This really helps to bring the picture to life. This is the TV that I definitely recommend to the folks who want the very best in performance.
