The Bose® CineMate® 15 home theater speaker system features a compact sound bar that fits easily on any TV stand or shelf.

Rich, full sound from a compact system

Bose CineMate 15 home theater speaker system

The CineMate® 15's Acoustimass® module delivers powerful bass response to complement the sound bar's clear detail.

The CineMate® 15's compact sound bar is only a bar in performance — not in size. Its design resembles a smaller center channel speaker you'd see in a large multi-speaker system. Bose® TrueSpace® technology allows this speaker to deliver clear, spacious sound without taking up much space. It easily fits in front of your TV and is perfect for more narrow stands or shelf systems. The bass is left to the Acoustimass® module, which serves up the low-frequency sounds that are crucial to giving movie soundtracks realism and dynamic punch. Together, they add excitement and drama to everything from movie nights to everyday TV watching. Plus, you'll be able to understand dialogue like never before.

Fast setup with a single-cable connection to your TV

Think this system is complicated to set up? No way — Bose® specializes in making easy-to-use products. The sound bar connects to your TV with a single cable — two different cables are included, ensuring this system works with most any TV. The Acoustimass® module connects to the sound bar with another included cable. Plug in the power cord, and you're done.

No more remote roulette

You won't need to line up a bunch of remotes to control your TV and other components with the Bose® CineMate® 15. It comes with a programmable universal remote, so it can operate your TV, Blu-ray player, cable box, and other components as well as the CineMate® 15.

Absolutely fantastic! Can't believe how much sound I got for the price!!! Had it hooked up in minutes. The powerful bass gives movie theater feel and the sound bar keeps everything else crisp and clean.

Good device but dated by more modern technology.

mrfearless47 from Lake Oswego, OR on 4/11/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

A good device marred by its limitations. Sound quality good, setup is straightforward and projection of sound adequate in a small space. Its major defect is that only two devices can be connected.

Pros: Easy setup. Good sound quality.

Cons: Two device limit. TV plus Apple TV, TV plus Amazon Fire, or Amazon Fire and Apple TV but not TV. Difficult choices to make. Add roku, DVD player and the problem gets even tougher.

Returned this product because it wasnt what I wanted

Pros: Good item

Cons: needs to have cord to Woofer

Great product!

BigWaveDave from Marco Island, FL on 1/31/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking to dramatically improve the sound of my 58" flat screen without going the full home theater route. This system is everything I wanted. Excellent sound with great bass, very easy to set up - plug in and use the optical cable and that is it! Not in love with the universal remote, not able to program. Good for me I don't mind using multiple remotes! He who dies with the most remotes wins!

Pros: Great sound, easy set up, very small foot print.

Cons: Universal remote

Not what I expected

GA from Massachusetts on 1/18/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Cinemate tends to receive glowing reviews, which is why I bought one. While it does handle movie and TV dialogue very well, which is a key consideration for me, I struggle with the downsides, in my list of 'cons', at this price point.

Pros: - Good dialogue clarity - Certainly better sounding than the typical TV speakers - Good remote

Cons: - Center module, despite diminutive size, not wall mountable - Bulky and clumsy cable to connect to Acoustimass module. Hard to hide it. - Very limited soundstage. I never lost the impression that not only is the sound coming directly from the TV, but directly from the middle of the TV - No provision for headphone use - No display of volume level. - No treble control. The Cinemate often sounded 'brighter' than I like, with no way to 'dial it back'

Great system for the price!

Got this for our new 75' Sony Ultra HD for the bedroom and it is amazing sound quality in a very small package. We feel like we have IMAX in our bedroom. You will not be disappointed in this product.

Pros: Small, Easy to connect, Perfect sound quality

Cons: None

Good Alternative For Second TV

ChristinaK from Colorado on 9/16/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like the product for what it is. It is not true surround sound; but I did not want a true theater system with all the wires and hassle. I have that elsewhere in our home. It is easy to connect; but programming the remote took a call to Bose for help. Bose had left off the last two steps required to program the remote. The Bose tech was helpful, onshore and easy to deal with. However, I did have to wait 20 minutes on the phone, which I think is too long. But once I got a tech, it went quickly and she was very skilled in helping me with programming the remote.

Pros: easy to use; great product and sound for a sound bar

Cons: complete directions missing to program remote control; wait times for Bose tech services were long.

Better than expected

_afrey from Nebraska on 8/25/2015

I really wanted to hate this thing when my brother-in-law got it set up, but it really is a great little system. Packs a lot of punch and is great for gaming. Filled the room with sound while leaving your entertainment center uncluttered.

Another great product from Bose.

Pros: Awesome sound for such a small system, truly universal remote, and very easy to set up and use.

Bose CineMate 15 very easy to set up (plug n play) and good quality of sound. It fills the room with crystal clear sound. But of course quality comes with the price. Worth it I can say.

Product Research

CineMate 15 Home Theater System: The CineMate 15 Home Theater Speaker System offers spacious home theater sound from a compact soundbar speaker and hide-away Acoustimass module. The CineMate 15 system connects directly to your flat-panel HDTV, with no additional AV receiver required. Exclusive Bose innovations enable wide, spacious sound that extends well beyond the soundbar speaker's physical size. The included wired Acoustimass module adds big bass-notes to your movies, music, and games; while it is neatly tucked away from view. The CineMate 15 Home Theater Speaker System is all controlled with a simplified universal IR remote.

Soundbar Speaker w/ TruSpace Technology: The Bose CineMate 15's soundbar speaker employs a four speaker array along with proprietary TruSpace technology to produce a full, spacious sound that is wider than the TV screen. The result is a greater dynamic sound from your favorite TV shows and movies. The soundbar speaker uses the reflective surfaces of the room to deliver a spacious home theater experience. To ensure optimal audio performance, the soundbar should be placed equidistant from each side wall and directly in front-center of the TV. No objects should be placed on either side of the soundbar, nor should it be placed inside a cabinet, as this would result in a limited sound stage.

Note: The soundbar speaker features an attached 9.75' proprietary cable that plugs in the system's Acoustimass module.

Acoustimass Module w/ Bass Control: The Acoustimass module works in concert with the soundbar speaker to deliver full-range sound. The patented Bose design produces deep low frequencies with no audible distortion. The rear-panel bass control knob on the Acoustimass module allows you to change the bass level output of the system. When the module is tucked behind a curtain or chair, all of the sound seems to come directly from the soundbar speaker. For best sound quality, the Acoustimass module should be placed on the floor against the same wall as the television and soundbar, with an electrical outlet nearby for the power cord. The module should not be placed on a shelf or table.

Analog + Digital Inputs: The Bose CineMate 15 speaker system is fitted with two digital inputs (optical/coaxial) and one stereo analog input (RCA), so you can connect virtually any TV; all audio connections are found on back of the soundbar speaker. The optical and coaxial digital inputs support 2ch PCM and Dolby Digital. To enjoy the full benefit of hearing audio through the Bose CineMate system, the internal speakers in your TV should be turned off.

Note: The digital optical output terminals of most newer flat-panel TVs only send an audio signal in 5.1ch when receiving Dolby Digital surround sound from the TV's built-in tuner, network connection, or connected USB device; and will output only 2ch stereo from sources connected to the TV via HDMI, or RCA (like your Blue-ray/DVD player or satellite/cable box).

Universal Remote Control: The Bose CineMate 15 includes an IR universal remote control for wireless operation of the speaker system. You can also program the universal remote to control your TV, DVD, Blu-ray Disc player, cable/satellite box, game system, or DVR. You can also program most other manufacturer universal remote controllers to operate the Bose CineMate 15 system.

Auto Power Off: The CineMate 15 system will automatically power off after one hour if no audio signal is present.

Q & A

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

Needed a small HT set up fo a small HDTV and this fits the bill perfectly. Size, price and Bose's excellent performance and reputation influenced my decision and also owning many Bose products I know the sound will be great! I also have a Bose wave radio/CD and the now discontinued VideoWave in a larger system that performs unbelievably without filling a room full of unsightly speakers. So this system is perfect![ FRANCIS E  Apr 14, 2016 ]
I like these products very much[ Rodney  Feb 19, 2016 ]

Yes, you could use one of the audio inputs on the Bose CineMate 15 home theater speaker system to plug in a Sonos CONNECT (no need for the CONNECT:AMP in this case) which would allow you to wirelessly stream music and communicate with other Sonos speakers in your home. I hope that helps! My Bio: [ Larry  Jun 24, 2016 ]  Staff
With the cords that are provided. Couldn't be easier. Did it in 2 minutes. Love the sound. They're worth the money. Tried 2 other brands and took them back. Enjoy![ Sue  Feb 26, 2016 ]
Into the optical audio out.[ Patrick  Feb 23, 2016 ]
I connected my cable box to the TV using HDMI and then used a fiber optic cable to connect the audio out from the TV to the audio in on the Bose speaker[ William  Feb 23, 2016 ]
We do not have one and I cannot find a longer cable or extension listed on Bose's web site either. I don't see this being possible. Feel free to call an advisor on 1-800-324-9695 for help with finding a bar that will work for you.[ Paul  Feb 13, 2016 ]  Staff
The CineMate 15 offers several audio inputs so, if you have one of the Bose Wave Radio models that offers an audio output, you should be able to connect it to and hear it play though the CineMate 15, yes. I hope that helps! My Bio: [ Ryan  Jan 19, 2016 ]  Staff
I am not sure how large you could go and still be efficient, but here is my living room arrangement. The size is 13' wide by 23' long, t.v. and center speaker in the center of the 13'. Base is offset 7'6". Seating is 14' and 18' away from speakers and t.v. and the sound is very clear and music is excellent. I would recommend this system to anyone to get better sound from your t.v. Excellent product and in my opinion the best place to buy electronics. Gordon.[ gordon  Nov 14, 2015 ]
No, the soundbar type speaker is wired to the TV for the audio signal and the sub-enclosure for power.[ ANTHONY S  Apr 06, 2015 ]

No. The Wires from the small speaker is also not removable.[ Daniel  Apr 06, 2015 ]
No. Everything is wired.[ Team  Apr 05, 2015 ]
They are not wireless but do have a great sound. Only one wire to connect.[ Roberto  Apr 05, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Unfortunately, the Bose Cinemate 15 will only decode Dolby Digital and not DTS.If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.[ Krissy  Nov 05, 2014 ]  Staff
