Easy set up. Sounds great in odd shaped room. Very easy set up.

Pros: Good quality sound through entire range. Fills room with clear tones and solid bass. Very easy to set up and configure for sitting positions. Nice design.

Cons: Remote situation is as described in previous review. A little on the pricey side, but I think worth it given the sound, look, and set up.

I love it. Great sound. Remote runs dvr, blueray and cable box.

Pros: Easy to set up. Great price

Cons: No light on remote

Cincy Bob from Crossville, TN on 2/24/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

True to a Bose sound system, the base quality is superb. The problem was the treble quality of the speaking tone in movies. You can take out a little of the base tone on the subwoofer. Thus, not much treble is available to make conversation on the TV understandable which is lost in a base muffled sound. The actual appearance and ease of setup are pluses. I returned it and bought the Yamaha YSP 4300 sound bar which allows for plenty of treble and base adjustment.

Pros: Great base sound and power Looks and size Ease of setup and calibration Wireless Subwoofer Universal remote

Cons: Lack of treble adjustment Base is overwhelming for conversation listening

Love It!

Fran from Kennesaw, GA on 2/21/2014

Great sounding system, After we calibrated the system with the ADAPTiQ, it made all the difference.

Pros: Everyone no matter where you are sitting in the room has the same experience.

Cons: Wish that it had blue tooth and on screen settings.

Bose Cinemate 1SR

JohnL from Green Valley, AZ on 2/19/2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Easy setup - just read the instructions. You must have connections from both your components and the TV in order to avoid having the sound cut off. Found that it works perfectly with my Logitech smart remote.

Pros: Terrific sound from a very un-obtrusive setup. Got rid of all the speakers and wires around the room.

Cons: Not real important, but it would be nice to have some indication of volume level.

The speaker system arrived in two days of ordering of ordering. Box and contents perfect after traveling through this winters storms. Start to finish installation about 40 minutes. Instructions were clear and concise . I always knew that the Crutchfield Team was there as a backup ..not not needed. The sound system sounds great. A 90 % improvement over the speakers in the TV. The "Base" speaker adds a Movie Theater quality sound.

Pros: Quality of sound..simple installation...the quality of the product is worth the price.

Cons: Perhaps a method to adjust the sound system.

Bose Sound Bar

Lizzy from Rome, New York on 12/30/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Depending on what you are looking for in sound, this system does exactly what my husband and I were looking for without going into a lot of money putting in speakers all over the family room which we don't really need. How loud do you really need the sound to be anyway. It is a great system and we plan on keeping it. The quality is there in this system. It's a Bose how can you go wrong, unless you want to spend thousands on a surround system.

Pros: easy to set up, instructions are well done, and attractive sound bar.

Cons: For what are needs are in a sound bar, none.

Bose® CineMate® 1 SR digital home theater speaker system

BOSE lover from NE PA on 8/29/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have 2 older wired Bose surround sound systems. They are fantastic. My husband did not want to go thru the hassle of moving all the speaker wires and holders from these systems for my new tv so we decided on the Bose CineMate 1. I must admit the Bose CineMate 1 improved the tv speech dramatically; however, the sound effects were terrible. We immediately contacted Crutchfield for a return. As always Crutchfield gave us the same superior service we have come to enjoy and immediately approved return of the Bose unit. This experience gave my hubby just the nudge he needed to move one of our older wired systems to the new location. In the end if you are only looking to understand what the actors are saying on your tv the Bose CineMate 1 will do the job but if you want the rest of your sound effects to shine this unit will not do it. A full Bose system will cost much more but as the say "you get what you pay for". Once again thank you Crutchfield for standing behind what you sell.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I listened to 5 different mfgs. of the bar type speaker systems at a local retail store and I still came back to this one by Bose. None of the others could come close to the sound I was experiencing. Easy to set up if you do not try to use the remote provided to obviate all other remotes. Using the Optical sound output from your TV to connect to the bar is best. Well worth the price.

Pros: Compact, no short cuts in manufacturing(Quality) and if technical service is required a live person is there to assist.

Cons: Very expensive but if you want quality you will have to pay for it.

Bose 1SR

Anonymous from Louisville, KY on 6/18/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This Bose system is very easy to set up. The audio calibration works great and is also very user friendly. You definitely want to read the user manual to figtoure out the remote. I installed this unit in an open floor plan basement, about 1000 square feet. It is definitely loud enough to fill the room with sound which I was worried about with such a large room.

Pros: Easy set up, plenty of volume, and good bass response.

Cons: The only slight cons I have found so far is the sound separation could be better, and the sub could use just a little more umphh...But, I realize this is a sound bar setup, not like the big tower and built ins I had before. Overall I would definitely purchase again

OK Sound Bar

Sam from California on 6/9/2013

This sound bar will produce vastly better sound than the speakers built into your flat panel display. There is also plenty of power in the sub-woofer. It however lacks user flexibility to adjust the sound. To my ear the Bose fixed sound is a bit too rich or put another way too much base, even when you turn down or off the sub-woofer. I really do not mind spending this much, but would like to receive more for the money. If I did not require the ability to hang the sound bar, I would have gone with Yamaha YSP-3300, which offer a lot more technology and in a local show room sounds a lot better, at least to my ear.

Pros: This is the only self-powered sound bar Crutchfield could find me in over a year that has the threaded mounting capacity to be compatible with Sanus VMA202, thus permitting mounting beneath a flat screen on an articulating arm. Do purchase in advance your own 5M mounting bolts at your local hardware store, if you intend to use with Sanus VMA202.

Cons: Lack of any ability to adjust sound, such as tone control or ability to boost center channel. Lack of any visual volume feedback, other than blinking light when at bottom or top of capacity. Lack of auto on power control.

Powered Sound Bar

Fred from Califonia on 6/6/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As with all Bose products, it is their way or the highway. This unit is vastly better than than you flat screen's built in speakers. It is however very heavy on bass timber. If you do not need its threaded mounting, but can mount or a wall or on a shelf, I would consider Yamaha's sound bars.

Pros: This is compatible with Sanus VMA202!!

Cons: Too heavy in bass tone, but otherwise a vast improvement over flat screen built in speakers. Again, I would consider Yamaha, except for mounting issue with VMA202.

EddieW from Hernando, FL on 5/16/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This time around did a lot of homework and BOSE still came out on top. Great product with included tuning headset.

Pros: Best sound I've heard from home speaker systems. Easy set up. Low profile that sets low in front of the TV.

Cons: Pricey. The Sound Bar power cord was only four feet long (same as the Acoustimas Module) so consequently had to use an extension cord to reach the power strip on the floor.

Great Sound

WEM from Montclair, NJ on 3/1/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The installation is very fast and simple; however, it did take me a bit longer to get everything going. When I first connected the Bose SR sound bar, there was no sound coming from the sound bar. It continued to come from the TV. I called one of the techs at Crutchfield, who helped me resolve the problem. It turns out that there is a problem with the audio output on my LCD TV. The tech suggested I connect my cable box to the sound bar with the optical cable. The moment I did that, I heard a marvelous 3-D sound that filled the room. A huge thank you to the Crutchfield staff as they made the difference between my keeping the sound bar and enjoying it or sending it back. They put a big smile on my face because I had done much research about the Bose SR sound bar and was truly looking forward to enjoying it, which I am now doing. I also have a Cinemate 3-2-1 III, which is still connected to my television and allows me to hear my Blu-Ray player and Bose Media system that goes with the Cinemate III. This may be a bit of a non-traditional arrangement--to use both the SR sound bar and the Cinemate 3-2-1 III; but it works for me as an alternate arrangement because of the problem with my television audio output.

Pros: Simple set-up; clutterless way to get rich sound; sleek appearance

Cons: Still trying to get the "universal" remote to control all my media; no on-screen specifications

Love it!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After doing a lot of research on soundbar systems including reading reviews to complement my Samsung 55" 3D TV I decided to go with the Bose CineMate 1 SR. I own 2 Bose SounDock Digital systems and a couple Bose noise cancelling headsets I always enjoyed the sound quality of this brand. Again I was not disappointed with my new acquisition. The setup was a breeze (I love the calibration part) and the quality of the audio through this system is night and day from what I got from the TV speakers. I am hearing impaired and this system makes a huge difference for me. I can now hear sounds that I could not before with the TV speakers and it makes watching movie a much better experience! The only thing missing is the audio level display on the TV screen. I was able to program my All in one Comcast remote to work with this unit in addition to the TV and cable box so I am not using the Bose remote per se. Overall I am very happy with this unit so far!

Pros: Easy setup, nice and modern design, versatility of the soundbar positioning (vertical or flat), small form factor of the subwoofer.

Cons: No audio level indicator on TV screen.

Bose Cinemate 1SR

Vee You from Chicago, IL on 2/13/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I investigated several options for sound, including several full blown 5.1 sound systems. I chose this item because of the ease of installation, and the lack of clutter. As it relates to ease of installation, there were literally only two connections: one to the power supply, and the other to the TV with the optical cable. ADAPTiQ, which is brilliant, takes about 5 minutes to calibrate the sound to the room, and is very simple to do. The lack of clutter piece for me was also a big deal. I would have had to poke holes in the drywall to get speakers mounted, repaint, etc. Wasn't worth the effort for me. The sound coming out of this soundbar is crisp and clear, and the wireless subwoofer puts out very good bass, which separates very well from the mid-high level sound. The other thing which should not be underestimated is the Bose universal remote. While it is not a Logitech Harmony remote by any stretch, it is reasonably good, can be programmed easily, and works well.

Pros: Easy to install No clutter Sound quality

Cons: A lot of folks have been critical of the price point. I won't go there. I think the value is good. It's not cheap, but I don't think it's ridiculous, given the off-the-charts quality of the product. No real cons that I can speak to. This is a spectacular soundbar.

Great sound but with reservations

Andy from North Carolina on 1/31/2013

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We purchased this sound bar on the strengths of the Bose name, the ease of setup and use, and the promise of room-filling sound. The Cinemate lived up to those expectations mostly, but as it turned out, the cons outweighed the pros. Let me explain. Bose makes a good product. Construction is solid, finish detail is flawless, and the mounting options are excellent whether placed in front of the television or wall-mounted (which we did not do). Bose never publicizes their technical specifications, but since the sound filled our theatre without distortion, I assume power output is adequate. Cabling could not be simpler. All components continue to operate through the television inputs, and an optical cable feeds audio from television to the Bose. The non back-lit remote is well-designed and capable of controlling every component we have in our theatre. There is no visual confirmation of settings or feedback of audio level. You will miss this. The powerful, wireless sub-woofer is clunky. If it needs to be angled, say, in a tight corner, it is limited. The deal-breaker. Unfortunately, while the Bose auto-configures, it cannot be adjusted manually. I need a little extra help in the mid-range, and the Bose cannot provide it. As a result, I found almost all conversation muddy and often unintelligible. Assuming my hearing will get worse over time rather than better, manual adjustment is essential. [Crutchfield made the swap to another sound bar painless!]

Pros: Room-filling sound. Simple cabling and connections. Well-designed profile. Versatile placement options. Excellent remote. Adequate sub-woofer.

Cons: No specifications - Bose never publishes specifications on its products. Auto-configuration only - no manual adjustment possible. No on-screen or on-unit feedback. Overpriced for what is delivered.

Bose® CineMate® 1 SR home theater speaker system

John I from Long Island, NY on 12/30/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Remarkable sound from this unit...i was skeptical being my media room is 22' x 16' ..i was amazed it filled the room w/the sound it did, don't get me wrong, a full blown system w/large subs and large main speakers and satellites certainly was great, but i gave my entire home theater system to my son because this system was a perfect, plug and play easy to use system which is what i was looking for, no more finding the right theater mode and all that jazz, just turn it on w/my TV and sound is great no matter what! Couldn't be happier.

Pros: Small size, wireless sub, just plug it into a wall outlet for power and pretty simple setup w/the Bose headset for room calibration and thats it!

Cons: it would be nice if the remote was backlit or white so i can see the text better in a dim light setting, other than that, the remote and system is perfect for my needs.

Bose® CineMate® 1 SR home theater speaker system

Enzo from Westminster, MD on 3/20/2012

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Well, this Bose system has cleared up the audio to such an extent that I clearly understand what used to sound like mumbling. It's that simple. It makes tube watching a lot more enjoyable. The woofer box also makes a big difference. I had no idea there was so much rumbling and thumping in those sound tracks. An interesting effect is that the woofer thing in the main room actually improved audio in my bedroom. The two rooms have an adjoining wall and the low frequency stuff comes right on through. Installation was unbelievably easy. The unit came with way more cables than I needed. I chose the digital optical one because I'd never used one before. It was like anything else -line up the connecter and push. The TV has a digital optical output so I just ran that skinny little optical cable about 10 inches from TV to sound bar, plugged everything in, and switched the TV to "external speaker". The remote is one of those universal types but it is also all IR instead of RF. I'll have to program everything to one remote. P.S. The bar has a system that will help callibrate the way it projects sound to make it simulate true surround. It does this fairly well.

Pros: Feels like you are in the Movie Theather for real

Cons: It's little expensive and not everybody can afford it

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was initiallly looking at the bose cinimate gs ll, however, after hearing the bose 1 SR it was far superior. Unfortunetlly, I had to spend double the price of the Cinimate gs ll. Why would I do that? It had better sound, I noticed the volume on the gs ll would not be loud enough for my needs. However, I was still not convenced.but i went for it anyway. I am happy i did. As I listen to the soundbar all of a sudden I hear sound to my right, then latter in back of me, then to the left. I was surprised that the bar and the bass box were really very good. As good a can be without 5 speakers and wires all around. Therefore, the 1 SR is a terrific improvement and I still turn my head to see the speaker that aren't there. Nice job Bose.. Ive had the system about 2 months and I am very happy with its sound quality....

Pros: overall, sound quility is exceptional, plenty of power, great looking ,easy to set up,

Cons: A little over priced. 1200 would be nicer. Bass is just a hair weak however, it does have a vol. control you can turn up. The only thing that bugs me a litlte is there isn't a number that identifys the volume your at just a little green dot on the soundbar. would make it easier to know a #. I could not brake the star rating down ,but if I could I would give it a easy 4.75 Outstanding.

Cons: Pricing is relative to your satisfaction

Geat Sound

Don from Waldorf, MD on 12/8/2011

First off let me say, for a sound bar the Bose is expensive. I have owned Krell, and Meridian audio equipment so I know a thing or two about highend audio. The Bose soundbar is not highend, nor is it intended to be. You could call it a highend soundbar. The sound of the Bose bar is really good IMO. After listening to the Bar for a few TV shows, I returned to the audio speakers on my Sony Bravia TV and I could no longer listen to the TV speakers. There is NO comparison between the Bose and the TV speakers. I would describe the sound of the Bose as rich sounding. The bass was very well integrated with the sound bar. I have no other experience with any less priced soundbars, so I cannot say you could find a better sound bar at a lower price. If your wallet will allow, the bose Is excellent for what is was designed to do. Someone wrote that the audio lags behind the voices on the TV. I did not experience this with my set up.

Pros: Ease of use and setup. Sound quality, Build quality

Cons: Price

System Features

1.1 Speaker System: The CineMate 1 SR Home Theater Speaker System offers spacious home theater sound from a sleek soundbar speaker and wireless Acoustimass module. The CineMate 1 SR connects directly to your flat-panel HDTV, with no additional AV receiver required. The CineMate 1 SR system's sound can be customized to your room size, shape, and furnishings. Exclusive Bose innovations enable wide, spacious sound that extends well beyond the soundbar speaker's physical size. And the wireless Acoustimass module adds emphatic low-notes to your movies, music, and games; while it is neatly tucked away from view. The CineMate 1 SR Home Theater Speaker System is all controlled with a simplified universal IR remote.

Soundbar Speaker Array: The soundbar speaker uses a Speaker Array design and PhaseGuide sound radiators, along with TrueSpace technology to direct sound with precision, sending acoustic detail to the left, right and center of your room.

  • Speaker Array Design: The soundbar speaker array features five identical transducers with powerful neodymium magnets.
  • PhaseGuide Sound Radiators: The soundbar speaker also employs two PhaseGuide sound radiators to deliver room-filling sound.
  • TrueSpace Technology: Proprietary TrueSpace digital processing circuitry delivers a spacious, multichannel sound experience with strong left, right and center imaging from a single soundbar speaker.

Wireless Acoustimass Module: The wireless Acoustimass module produces deep low notes for added home theater realism. The wireless link allows for flexible placement and does away with any speaker cables from the module to the soundbar. The wireless Acoustimass module adds dramatic low notes to your entertainment, without the addition of more cables. The soundbar speaker and Acoustimass module are paired at the factory.

Note: To avoid wireless interference, keep other wireless equipment, such as wireless computer network routers, cordless phones, microwave ovens, or other WiFi-enabled audio/video devices away from the soundbar speaker and Acoustimass module.

Bose ADAPTiQ Audio Calibration System: The soundbar speaker's performance is customized to the acoustics of your room with the Bose ADAPTiQ audio calibration system. ADAPTiQ audio calibration system analyzes the way your room's dimensions and other variables affect sound, then automatically adjusts the sound of your speaker system to the acoustics of your room. To perform a calibration you need about 10 minutes when the room is quiet. While wearing the special headset, the system will ask you to place yourself in five different locations (sitting or standing) in your listening area as the system takes measurements in each. Audio prompts from the system will guide you through the process.

Dolby Digital/DTS: The Bose CineMate 1 SR features optical and coaxial digital inputs, while providing digital 5.1ch decoding for improved realism from 5.1ch-encoded Blu-rays, DVDs, DBS, or HDTV.

Remote Control: The CineMate 1 SR system includes a universal remote that can be programmed to control your TV, DVD or Blu-ray Disc player, cable/satellite box, and VCR. With this universal remote, you can enjoy the convenience of using only one remote control for all your home theater equipment.

  • Source Control: You can easily switch control from one source to another by pressing the appropriate source button at the top of the remote. In addition to controlling the selected source, the remote will always control the basic speaker functions (on/off, volume, mute) of the CineMate 1 SR system.
  • Navigating On-Screen Menus: The menu and program selection buttons will control only one source at a time. Select the source you want to use first.
  • Playback Controls: The functionality of the source playback buttons may vary depending on the type and brand of your device. The remote offers Play, Pause, Top, Fast Forward/Rewind, Next/Previous, numeric keypad controls.

Bass Control Knob: The bass control knob located on the rear-panel of the Acoustimass module allows you to change the bass level output of the system. Turn the bass control knob clockwise to increase the bass or counter-clockwise to decrease the bass.

Audio Connections: The CineMate 1 SR digital home theater speaker system takes the place of your TV's built-in speakers. This is done by connecting your TV's audio output to the TV audio input (TV Input) on the CineMate system. In addition to the connection from the TV, you can also connect up to two of your audio/video devices (sources) directly to the CineMate system's auxiliary inputs to assure the best possible sound quality from these sources (the aux inputs are designed to provide a second signal path for a source already connected to the TV, not as an input for additional sources). The soundbar speaker is equipped with bottom-panel analog and digital audio inputs for TV and Auxiliary.

  • TV Input: The soundbar is fitted with one analog stereo RCA input, one optical digital audio input, and one coaxial digital audio input to connect to a wide variety of televisions.
  • Auxiliary Inputs: The soundbar is also fitted with one optical digital audio input and one coaxial digital audio input to connect two digital audio sources (Blu-ray/DVD player, Cable/Sat box) for optimum sound quality. These Aux inputs provide a direct audio signal from your AV source to the soundbar.
Note: While a source is playing the CineMate 1 SR system will continuously compare the AUX input audio stream with the TV Input audio stream and automatically select the highest-quality audio stream available. To enjoy the full benefit of hearing TV audio through the CineMate 1 SR system, the internal speakers in your TV should be turned off.

SmartSource Input Selection: The SmartSource input selection system automatically monitors the speaker's TV and Auxiliary inputs. As you switch sources, the system retrieves the best audio signal available. What you see and what you hear is always in sync.

Cable Management: There are cable clips on the bottom-panel of the soundbar speaker to neatly organize the system's audio cables.

AC Power: Because the soundbar speaker and wireless Acoustimass module are self-powered, each requires a separate AC power connection.

Mounting Options

Flexmount Technology: Proprietary Flexmount technology ensures optimal performance wherever the soundbar is positioned. The soundbar speaker can be mounted to a wall (using the optional WB-135 bracket, sold separately); or placed flat on a table. Flexmount technology detects the soundbar speaker's orientation and ensures optimal audio output however you position the speaker. To raise the soundbar speaker and allow more space under it, you can install the included extension feet.

Note: The CineMate 1 SR system uses the reflective surfaces of your room to deliver wide, spacious sound. For best sound quality, the speaker array should not be placed inside a cabinet, or diagonally in a corner.

Acoustimass Module Placement: When placing the Acoustimass module on bare floors, or other smooth surfaces, attach the included rubber feet to the bottom of the module for greater stability and to protect your floor. For best sound quality, place the Acoustimass module on its feet along the same wall as your TV, or along any other wall in the front third of the room. The front opening of the module can face any direction.

Dear Jose M: I do not have an iPhone so I can not answer your question - however I highly recomend the Bose - the setup process alone lets you know you have purchased a system better than all the rest - it has head phones that you wear and you sit where your listeners will sit and it directs the best sound right to them - just make sure your Blu-Ray player and TV have optical digital cable sound outputs and you will be set. I hope you purchase this system - you will be very happy. [ MARK A  Nov 10, 2014 ]
I am sorry but I do not have an iphone so am unable to respond. However I can offer this advice; I would purchase the new Bose Cinemate 350 as it comes with a central control box and cost the same as the Cinamate 1. Good luck. [ ROGER  Nov 07, 2014 ]
No, it is not boothtooth. [ WARREN  Nov 05, 2014 ]
I haven 't tried that. Sorry I can't help. [ THOMAS  Nov 05, 2014 ]
Sorry, I own Sonos, not Bose. Check with them for help or Google your question with least number of words. [ MARK  Nov 05, 2014 ]
Call Sonos Sales/Customer Service # found on web. They will know the answer. [ MARK  Nov 05, 2014 ]
Sorry, I have no idea. We no longer have the Bose system. [ KENNETH A.  Nov 05, 2014 ]
I have mine sitting on an entertainment table in the corner, so I would think you should be able to mount it across the corner with the proper bracketing. I would also assume the sound bar may even be able to adjust for how it sits depending on where you sit with the remote to configure the sound. [ JEFF  Jun 29, 2014 ]
Yes, make certain you use the remote to get surround sound from each corner of the room [ KENNETH A.  Jun 29, 2014 ]
hello becky, no. but have u considered building a diagonal shelf under your tv not sure how large your tv is-- ours is 65"--we have 3 shelves built-in under our tv hope this helps mary [ MARY  Jun 29, 2014 ]
Yes i attached mine to the tv mount using 2 flat stock pieces and drilled 4 holes in the flat stock and it hangs under the TV [ James  Jun 29, 2014 ]
I think the closest you can come to positioning the sound bar on the TV is to position it directly below it on the wall. The ADAPTIQ calibration device, which is included, should customize the sound of the system to the acoustics of the listening area. You would also need to purchase the WB-135 Wall Mount kit from Bose. [ WENDY  Jun 29, 2014 ]
Quite a unique question. I do not know of any hardware that would allow you to attach the Sound Bar directly to a TV. The weight of the Sound Bar would have to be supported entirely by the TV. If you were able to locate this special hardware the next question is probably the most important, does the manufacturer of your TV allow this type of attachment to its TV? Caution, careful with unapproved ways to accomplish the impossible. Special Note. The manufacturer of the CineMate recommends that the wireless Sub Woofer be mounted on the floor as far to the left or right side of the speakers. How will that advice fit your unique installation? Good Luck [ ROGER  Jun 29, 2014 ]
Suggest you call Bose [ JOSEPH R  Jun 28, 2014 ]
Not very easily. I built a wood frame to attach the Bose wall mount to the TV mount. It is very sturdy, does not show from the front, and is very functional. Overall I am pleased with the install and the sound system. [ STEVEN  Jun 28, 2014 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: The Bose CineMate 1 SR digital home theater speaker system cannot be used as strictly a center channel. It is designed to take the place of a surround sound system, and uses technology to deliver a multichannel sound experience from just a single speaker If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. While I have no source for comparison, since I've had no other extraneous speakers, I am pleased with the sound enhancement. I have always been able to hear dialog very well, even with older movies. [ WENDY  Apr 04, 2014 ]
Jay, It does help somewhat. For voice, it is best to turn down the woofer. Tom [ THOMAS  Mar 30, 2014 ]
i would say NO, because sound in projected out onto walls etc, being inserted i don't know how they would respond, my recommendation would be to go to Sony com, get their "chat" line and ask, they are usually very helpful ... sorry i couldn't provide more definitive answers ..... good luck [ Richard  Jan 23, 2014 ]
Joey--I believe it is possible to wall-mount the speaker. It is meant to be fairly unobtrusive, giving the consumer the choice of having it lay flat in front of the TV (as I have it) or to mount it on a wall below the TV. I do not believe there would be any sound interference. It comes with a calibrator designed to give you the best sound in the available space. [ WENDY  Jan 23, 2014 ]
Bose is the best place to obtain an answer to a question of this nature. A non professional and personal answer would be that the woofer cannot be mounted that way. The combined speakers unit if set to far in may effect how the sound is transmitted to the sides of a room. The main reason I like the Bose unit is that when compared with other bar units it had the best sound to the right and left side. Good luck [ ROGER  Jan 22, 2014 ]
Hi, You should not recess the sound-bar in the wall. Mount it on the wall or place it down on top of the TV stand. [ Wayne  Jan 22, 2014 ]
There is an optional bracket that will allow you to wall mount this system. The Bose® WB-135 is designed to work with wall mount applications of TVs. [ Jeff  Dec 03, 2013 ]  Staff
The auxiliary inputs on this unit are both digital, and would not allow connection from your telephone. However, you could use the headphone out on your phone, and connect to the analog (red and white) inputs assigned to the TV (if they are not in use by the TV). You would need a mini to RCA adapter like the Arista Stereo Mini-to-RCA Adapter. [ Jeff  Nov 27, 2013 ]  Staff
