Stylish and super-compact, the Bose® Computer MusicMonitor® speakers continue the company's tradition of creating high-quality sound from gear that can fit into small spaces. Enjoy high-impact sound from your computer or laptop with this compact system, or connect it to your iPod® or iPad® to bring movies, music, and even Angry Birds™ sound effects to life.
The two-speaker system employs proprietary Bose technology to produce a wide, clear soundstage from very small speakers. You'll hear crisp, accurate highs and mids, and rich bass, and you'll still have plenty of desktop space for working.
Setup is extremely simple, too — one proprietary cable connects the speakers to each other, another connects to your source, and the AC power cord plugs into a wall outlet. Use buttons on the side of one speaker or the included remote to adjust volume.
From the review Bose Computer MusicMonitor speakers
"The speakers are so small that they'd be great for a portable-but-high-quality music system. I'd travel with them because the speakers would be easy to pack in a bag or suitcase, and they'd be perfect to set up in a hotel room with my laptop or iPad®. I'd even be tempted to connect them to the TV in the hotel room for better sound playback there, too."

Pros: good sound from small speakers - good fit with a computer
Okay for computer speakers. Expected more out of Bose. At one point they sound blown and that is not at peak power either. Was afraid to turn them up when hearing that sound at minimal volume.
Pros: Small package
Cons: Hard to believe they're Bose speakers.Crutchfield response on October 25, 2016 Whenever you are not completely satisfied with anything you purchase from Crutchfield, please contact our Customer Support team. I use these as computer speakers. They sound great and are worth the money as they are small and easy to place anywhere. The disadvantage is they are not blue tooth. Buy a Tivoli model one blue tooth radio radio and plug these into the record out jack. The speakers are blue tooth now and still in stereo still as plugged into the Tivoli Model one Blue tooth radio. The radio is a tuner so turn the volume down or use the headphone jack and use that output as a variable gain. The variable gain is the Bose speakers volume on the speakers when connected to the record out jack. The Tivoli radio is a blue tooth mono speaker when played alone. It is a stereo receiver through the output jacks for powered speakers. The Tivoli radio sounds as good as the Bose but it is mono sound alone as a speaker,I like to listen both ways. Most of all I am free to use my computer with out having my stereo Bose speakers directly plugged in. The Tivoli Pal radio works nicely as well but it is portable and costs more than the model one.
Pros: These Bose are the best computer speakers I have found. Very open and rich in sound and balanced.
Cons: Not blue tooth speakers. Tivoli Radio BT does a nice job making these blue tooth so you have the advantage of computer mobility. The Tivoli is a very highly rated product as an AM/FM blue tooth radio on its own merits It is sold by Crutchfield.
These are fantastic speakers. The first day that I had them I had the volume 3/4's the way up and it was so loud that I had to back them down. As for the sound, just great. Well worth it to me. The speakers have a small foot print which helps save space on my desk. Plus, they are not very tall so the speakers don't stick out. Highly recommend.
Pros: Great sound Well built Remote Space savings - smallish
Cons: Heavy for small speakers
Just got a new Dell All-In-One 2350 and the speakers are horrible so I searched and discovered these Bose units. I was reluctant to jump in on a set of speakers I hadn't heard but the reviews and stylish design with nifty remote, I decided to jump in. I wanted speakers that looked good, fit the visual theme of the PC (stainless steel/metal) and sounded good. In spite of their rather modest size they really pump out some impressive sound. They are pricey but they really do compliment the PC and the build quality is first class as always with Bose. I'm happy with my decision in choosing these Bose speakers.
Pros: Very stylish - top quality - compliment my PC perfectly. Big sound - crisp & clear.
Cons: Other than a somewhat steep price, no real demerits here.
Excellent Design and Sound Quality from Bose!
I replaced my very good and ancient Microsoft 3 piece USB (80) speakers with this Bose speakers for number of reasons: a) Better sound quality (and I am not disappointed at all) and smaller foot print, and again I am not disappointed at all. I mainly listen to classic and New Age music and I really like the sound quality. The price is high, but I believe it is worth it. I don't miss the subwoofer that I previously had with my Microsoft Speakers.
Pros: Superb sound quality, small footprint. No hassle connection
Cons: The speakers are connected to speaker outlet of a pc/laptop. As such, the volume control of the computer does not control the volume on speaker (directly). One needs to separately adjust the sound volume by controls (or remote) of the speakers. With USB connection (at least MS Speaker 80 did that) you could adjust the sound volume by one control, on your PC or on the speaker. If you have a laptop that you move around, that can cause unexpected very loud sound for you, be careful.
Presently, there is nothing better for desk top speakers.
Pros: Sounds good on my Apple Laptop and also on my TV. Best Christmas gift so far.
Pros: Sounds great in the man cave.
Cons: None at all.
Bought these speakers for TV viewing. I wear hearing aids and even though they are state-of-the-art and expensive, I was having a very difficult time with word recognition in the audio coming from our flat screen speakers. My wife suggested I take an old pair of computer speakers (inexpensive / came bundled with a past desktop PC) we had in the closet and put them by my chair. Because of their size they had to live on the small tables to my right and left. Relatively speaking the difference was stunning. It was a great improvement but there was still much lacking. The new Bose speakers are tiny (basically cubes) compared to the old ones I was using and fit perfectly on the wide oak arms of my favorite mission chair. They have a slight upward cant and aim directly at my hearing aids. Now to the sound... WOW !!! My word recognition is way up there now and I'm really enjoying the music coming from out HD viewing. High frequency to real bass, it's all there. These speakers are superb and worth every cent. You get what you pay for and Bose delivered!
Pros: Great sound
Overall, for its size, this is a pretty good compact system, for utilizing digital music files from a computer, ( I've pared mine with a MacBook Pro 13" laptop ). There are other computer music monitor speakers , some the same size, a few smaller, and a few a little larger, but none seem to approach the sound quality that these Bose nits have as their own unique capability. Altho they do seem to lack a little base, what can one expect, form such small speakers, without a dedicated separate powered subwoofer?
Pros: Match the finish of the MacBook pro series laptop computers as if they were made to pair with them. Best sounding speakers of their relative size. So, small they could be hauled along with your laptop!
Cons: Not as much bass as a separate powered subwoofer, but better than anyone else's small computer speakers, by far!
Perfect size, sound and performance. Very satisfied.
Is it FIOS. WOW. I have been visiting Crutchfield site and I kept putting off buying these computer speakers. I have a very tight budget, but I decided to treat myself to a early birthday gift. I was so amaze with the clarity and loundness of these speakers. I am not going to waste your time amy further. If you have terrible sound like me when you are listening to your music from your computer I suggest to you to go for it. Again the sound is superb.
Pros: Setup was very easy.
Cons: I wish it was battery operated but I'm fine with the way these speakers were made.
These little speakers are just what the doctor order for producing a nice loud quality sound from such a small speaker.
Pros: Small, Quality sound and plenty of it.
Elegant compact speakers with excellent rich sound to go with my MacBook Pro Retina.
Pros: Excellent rich sound quality. Compact. Portable.
Cons: No tone control.
Incredible...exactly what I was looking for. I was in need of some speakers to connect to my new laptop. I tried the Bose Companion 2--thought the sound had too much bass. Moved to the Companion 20s--they sounded great, but were way too large for the space I had. Finally purchased the MusicMonitors from Crutchfield and they fit and sound perfect. They are small enough that I can take them on trips to listen to music or watch movies. If you are on the fence regarding these speakers. Don't be.
Great sound from such a small package. I hooked them to the mac and playing tunes is awesome.
Pros: Great sound and small package.
I bought these about a year and a half ago, I had high hopes for them as they were a bit pricey ($399 at that time). I was surprised by the build qualty, they're heavier than they look. The sound quality is outstanding for their size. The sound is a lot like the Bose SoundDock with a bit more refinement. They're great, however, there are a couple minor things to keep in mind. First, the auxilary cord is silver plated, for the price you would expect at least a gold plated quality cable. Second, there's no tonal controls on the remote, just volume, but that's not a bad thing as they dont really need any fine tuning.
Pros: Great Bose product, high quality, big sound for their size.
Cons: The price. Although the new price seems to be more fair.

Perfect for my home office! [ James May 15, 2016 ]
im not sure as I do not know what the others sound like. I use mine with my player piano to play voice and instrumental from a hard drive while my piano plays along. They sound great producing a full sound at both the treble and bass levels. Couldn't be happier [ Ed Oct 01, 2016 ]
The Music Monitors are the best loudspeaker for their size I have ever measured. I build audio systems for recording, tune sound systems and measure a large variety of gear. I measured the Bose with MLS 3 years ago (maximum length sequence). IIR, they measured +/- 2.5dB from 100 Hz - 15.5kHz. There is nothing on the consumer market that comes close. One would need to look at professional gear to do as well but those products are larger in size and far mor costly. In short, they are stunningly great sounding. [ DAVID J Oct 01, 2016 ]
audio input (minijack-to-minijack cable included) [ PAUL R Jan 25, 2014 ]
Yws, it was a piece of cake to connect to my MacBook Pro! It comes woth a cord, and a single pin post plug to attach to the stereoplug slot on the left side of the laptop, in the very front, just ahead of the card card slot. Just do that, and plug the speakers power cord into an electric outlet, and you're in business, as soon as you adjust the volume control to your liking! Easy peasy! I was very pleased with them, as altho they are very small, they have excellent sound out put and detail, especially for their small size and minimal power requirements. [ Robert Jan 25, 2014 ]
yes.they are powerd and there is a cord that goes to yourl laptops ear phone jack [ FRANKLIN Jan 25, 2014 ]
Yes It comes with audio cord. [ Naveen Jan 24, 2014 ]
it comes with directions and a single plug that carries both channels [ GEORGE Jan 24, 2014 ]
Actually bought as a gift and bought a RCA cord to connect to a 8 track player. However it did come with cord for laptop and ipod..it looks very neat and clean in pick but a little heads up..there is wire to connect 2 speakers together, wire to plug into wall and wire to connect to ipod....gets a little messy considering how small speakers are..nice quality sound but if you like bass a little weak [ Jeanna Jan 24, 2014 ]
No cord with it but has the connection for a cord. The Bluetooth works very well. [ robert Jan 24, 2014 ]
It's plugged into the jack on my desktop. Should be a similar output jack on iPad. Don't know about iPhone. [ Julia Jan 24, 2014 ]
Yes, the audio input cable fits a standard mini headphone jack. As long as you have one of those on your device the speakers will work. [ Todd Jan 24, 2014 ]
