Top-notch Bose® noise cancellation — everywhere

Bose's legendary noise-cancelling technology in a portable in-ear design? Sign us up. The Bose® QuietComfort® 20i Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones minimize external noise, so you can hear your music or podcasts clearly. And these compact headphones deliver plenty of smooth Bose sound.

Stay aware of your surroundings

Powerful noise-cancellation is great in most situations, but not all. Think about busy city streets or running in the park — sometimes you need to be aware of what's happening around you. With the press of a button on the in-line remote, Bose's "Aware" mode kicks in. It passes external noise to your ears from two of the four tiny internal microphones. This allows you to hear your music while still paying attention to your environment.

A focus on long-lasting comfort

After a recent training session, many of us here at Crutchfield raved about the feel of the Bose StayHear®+ tips. With their soft, cone-shaped tips and stability loops, they make long listening sessions comfortable. They also stay put when you're on the move. Plus, the StayHear+ tips provide the proper seal required to keep external sound out for maximum noise-cancelling efficiency.

Bose has included three sizes of StayHear+ tips, to make sure these headphones will stay securely fitted in your ears as you go from the plane to the taxi, or as you exercise at the gym.

Woman wearing QC20 headphones

The ultra-compact QuietComfort 20 headphones feature an in-line remote, rechargeable battery, and passive listening to keep the music going if your battery runs out.

Built-in remote and microphone for Android phones

Got a phone call? Answer it with the push of a button while your Samsung or other Android phone stays in your pocket. The QuietComfort 20 headphones feature an in-line remote with a built-in microphone.  It also lets you control music playback and volume on your Android phone.

16-hour battery, plus passive mode

The QuietComfort 20i headphones feature a built-in rechargeable battery that provides up to 16 hours of noise cancellation on a single charge. When it's time to refresh the battery, just connect the included USB cable to your computer or compatible AC charger. Stuck on a plane and can't recharge? Keep the music playing with Bose's passive listening mode. Just switch off the power and listen without noise cancellation until you're able to recharge the battery.

Have an iPhone®? Then check out the Bose® QuietComfort® 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling® headphones.

Getting static noise in both left and right earphones after 2 days. Also the mute button stopped working after 3 days. Disappointed with the quality of this BOSE QC20 earphone. UPDATED 3/14/18: Crutchfield customer support offered to exchange / refund the product. Team was very accommodating and shipped the replacement quickly. Thanks to them. I really liked their outstanding service in resolving this.

Pros:

Cons: Poor quality

Functions well, as advertised

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The product fits well and is comfortable for a couple of hours, but eventually becomes uncomfortable as has every other over-ear or earbud unit I have used. It has near-perfect canceling of continuous noises like a clothes washer or dish washer, but seems to cut maybe only 50% of jet engine noise, and seems to have no noticeable effect on short duration sounds like coughing or crying babies. The only thing that really works for me on a jet is a set of custom-molded latex earplugs that I originally bought for shooting sports. This unit does reproduce better bass sound than other cheaper earbuds I have used, which I would expect for the premium price.

Great Listening but....

Sound reproduction is great for all kinds of music but the active noise cancelling is weak at the higher end allowing the cranky kid to be heard.

Pros: Great Sound

Cons: Imperfect Noise Cancelling

Comfortable to wear, required for flights!

Trey from Seattle, WA on 12/8/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I travel - a lot. Unfortunately, I left a set of these headphones on a plane, and they did not show up in lost & found. On my return flight - without the headphones! - I realized how loud planes are (engine noise, crying kids, loud talkers, people snoring, etc). Thank goodness for Crutchfield quick shipping! They had a new set to me in 3 business days (Washington State), and I'm back to peace and quiet on my business travels. I've had a few Bose noise cancelling headsets over the years, and the in-ear QC20s are easiest to pack and very comfortable to wear. I would highly recommend them! The only reason for the 4 stars is - of course - the price. I've tried other noise cancelling in-ear headphones and Bose is the best, but it still irks me that the price is still way up there.

Pros: Excellent noise cancelling. Comfortable. Not bulky; easy to pack.

Cons: Price!

Best Noise Cancelling on Earth!

Christopher from Orlando, FL on 8/23/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These have the best fit and noise cancelling of any headphones I've ever tried. Put them in , turn them on and BOOM silence. I have a pair of the parrots Zik 2 and these bose 20s outperform them in noise cancelling and that's saying alot because the parrots are impressive. The sound is good too, well balanced, clear with just enough bass. These are expensive but they are worth it in my opinion. I live on a busy street and these are a God send. You can't put a price on peace and quiet.

Pros: Top of the line noise cancelling, Good Sound, and comfortable fit

Cons: A bit on the pricey side but like most things, you get what you pay for...Here you pay for top notch quality.

Works great!

Pros: Lots of functions using the control.

Purchased to be able to sleep with snoring husband and noisy environment. They work perfectly! I don't hear any of the noises that kept me awake, including the air conditioner fan in a motel room (just a tiny hum). The charge lasts 2 nights, and they are comfortable for a side sleeper like me. I love them!!!!

Best noise canceling technology on the market

Martin from Cary, NC on 11/2/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It was recommended that I get a pair of these for my international travel. Why? My boss said to cut down the inflight noise and help me sleep better during the overnight flights, thus avoided severe jet lag affects. So I boarded a plane at Heathrow that was supposed to be a 787-300, business class seat. Much to my surprise, British Airways had swapped the equipment for the new Dreamliner 787, and I ended up in First Class seat 01A to try them out. Let me tell you something... On the Dreamliner, they have the electronics right next to your head, so I could charge both my cell phones and the noise filter component of the headphones all at the same time while watching a movie on the large inflight TV screen in my cabin. There was zero cabin noise, and I mean zero noise coming in. For sleeping, you can still wear them quite comfortably and they still knock out all the noise and don't get in your way while sleeping; I just tucked the unplugged cable into my shirt pocket and slept like a baby... and the first class champagne didn't hurt either!

Pros: Lightweight, comfortable and efficient. Multiple ear moldings for different sized ears. Sleep compatible while traveling...I use a Cabeau eye cover to wrap around my head while flying and hold them in place. TSA compatible - no issues with security in carry on baggage, even in China and India where I do business. Super convenient carrying pouch. USB power adapter is compatible with airplane, auto and laptop USB ports for charging. Microphone works better than other cheap headph

Cons: Stewardesses/Stewards think you can hear them while you are wearing them... trust me, you can't hear a thing! Maybe this isn't a con. I thought the price was expensive, but I had only a few hours of jet lag upon arrival in east Asia. Time is money to me and I already earned back the cost.

I like the noise cancelling feature a lot. It's nice on airplanes or walking around. My ears get sore after wearing them about an hour, but it's hard for me to find headphones that don't do that. Good product so far!

Cons:

great headphones

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these for plane travel, ended up using them everywhere. You don't realize how much background noise there is in our world until that noise is gone. These headphones do an awesome job of removing all the noise while still allowing the important sounds to come through (like speech). works with my oneplus one phone.

Pros: small, comfortable, long lasting battery, carry case

Cons: expensive would be nice to have a little more cable length from control box to headphone jack.

Great noise canceling!

Chris from Ne ohio on 6/6/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Best of thr best sound deadening! Really amazing. Sound quality is clean, not distorted in any way but mids and highs are a bit on the soft side. I like a warm sound but its too warm with these. Still, for a plane, for working out, they are amazing! I even use them stand alone without music just to kill noisy environments.

Pros: Noise cancelling is incredible!!

Cons: Sound quality is too warm.

Perfect for loud events

TomT from Port Townsend, WA on 2/2/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These QC20's allow me to attend music events where the performers seem to be determined to test the limits of the house sound system. If you have tinnitus, this can be extremely painful and ruins the show for me. These Bose noise cancelling headphones allow me to enjoy the music again. Same for sporting events -- think about a Seahawks game where the 12's try to set a new record for the loudest stadium!

Pros: Noise cancellation works better than any competitor's. Very comfortable for hours of continuous wear, long battery life, headset continues to work with mp3 player even if battery is depleted.

Cons: Volume should be adjustable -- sometimes quiet is a little too quiet.

Pros: Sounds great, light, very appealing

Features

Overview: The Bose QuietComfort 20 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones feature proprietary Bose technologies to provide you with excellent sound quality, while shutting out the world around you. The QC20 in-ear headphones have a Samsung and Android-compatible in-line remote/microphone, a control module with a built-in rechargeable battery, and three pairs of ear tips. You can store them in the supplied zippered carrying case when not in use.

Samsung/Android Compatibility: The QC20's in-line remote/microphone is compatible with select Samsung and Android devices. Audio listening, Answer/End, and Play/Pause will work with most devices, however, not all features will work with all devices.

Acoustic Noise Cancelling Headphone Technology: The patented Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphone technology in Bose QuietComfort 20 headphones provides full-spectrum noise reduction for a better audio experience. Microphones on the outside of the earbuds actively monitor what you hear, including unwanted outside sound. The difference between the unwanted sound and the desired sound is then electronically processed, creating a correction signal that acts to negate the unwanted noise. The speaker within each ear-cup is then fed the correction signal. This signal, combined with the passive noise reduction of the StayHear+ ear tips, dramatically reduces the outside distractions that reach your ears.

TriPort Technology: Bose proprietary TriPort technology allows the drivers of the QC20 headphones to create deep lows while keeping the headphones small and lightweight. TriPort technology, combined with Active EQ, give you lifelike sound for your music, videos, and phone calls.

StayHear+ Ear Tips: The Bose headphones come with StayHear+ silicone ear tips in three sizes (Small/Medium/Large) to help assure a more accurate and comfortable fit. The StayHear+ ear tips offer greater in-ear stability during exercise and other active sports. Advanced materials and design allow the tips to nestle inside the bowl of the ear, while also naturally conforming to the ear's upper ridge. The natural oblong cone shape of the ear tips provides a gentle seal that helps keep unwanted ambient noise out. StayHear+ ear tips also are designed to remain more securely on the headphone itself.

Aware Mode: The Aware Mode temporarily turns off the Active Noise Cancelling to allow you to hear ambient noise while continuing to listen to your music. Whether you're crossing the street, waiting on airline gate announcements, or just wanting to be more aware of your surroundings, you can engage the Aware Mode by pushing a button on the side of the in-line remote.

In-line Remote/Control Module: The QC20 gives you control over your headphones and your music. The 4-button in-line remote/microphone is compatible with select Samsung and Android devices, and features volume up/down, answer/end call, voice commands, music/video functions, and Aware Mode. The microphone enables you to make phone calls and perform voice commands with your phone. The control module contains the rechargeable battery, and includes the power switch for Active Noise Cancelling and LED status indicators.

Rechargeable Battery: The QC20's Active Noise Cancelling is powered by a rechargeable Lithium-Ion battery in the Control Module. The battery is charged with the supplied USB cable in approximately 2 hours. A fully-charged battery provides approximately 16 hours of battery life. Even if the battery is exhausted, you can still use the headphones without Active Noise Cancelling.

Clothing Clip: The included clothing clip help keep the headphones in place when you're on the move. Use the clothing clip to fasten the cable to your clothing, for convenience, stability, and to help manage the cable. This can be helpful during rigorous activities or when using the headphones in a single earpiece configuration.

Storage Case: The headphones come with a small carrying case that protects your headphones and cables when not in use. The case has a small mesh inside pocket for small items, and a zippered closure.

Why did you buy this?

Noise cancelling feature. I have the over the ear headphones but I need something for when I wear a big hat for sun shade and these have great reviews. If they are anything like the over the ear model I will love them. [ JAMES  Jul 12, 2018 ]
This is my second pair (the cord broke on the other one). I got these to drown out plane noise. I chose the earbuds because the smaller size is better for travel. Headphones take up too much space in my carryon. Yes, these are expensive but if you can afford it I recommend them. [ T  May 20, 2018 ]
Upcoming flight. [ GREG  Apr 04, 2018 ]
This was a recommendation from a friend. [ Maria  Jan 13, 2018 ]
My Grandson wanted them for Christmas. He's a freshman at GA TECH and his roommate snorze! [ Beverly  Dec 12, 2017 ]
I own a pair and love them. Great sound, noise cancel is great for air travel. Purchased a set for my wife. [ Wooten  Nov 29, 2017 ]
Best seller with positive and informative reviews from Crutchfield customers who previously purchased these earbuds/headphones. [ David  Nov 07, 2017 ]
After 20 years of my wife's snoring, I just can't take it anymore. These cost way more than I'd really like to spend, but the chainsaw noise cuts through my noise isolating earbuds like a hot knife through butter, and the dog is tired of me sleeping in his bed. I'm really hoping these will salvage what's left of my sanity. Just don't tell her I said any of this. [ Patrick  Sep 30, 2017 ]
Had a set that got stolen. They worked better than 3 or 4 other noise canceling products I tried previously because they were cheaper. So I'm paying the price to replace my stolen pair and have the best. [ Kenneth  Sep 20, 2017 ]
reviewed as best noise canceling ear phone [ David  Jul 10, 2017 ]
Best reviews for headphone to sleep in that really cancel noise. [ Laura  Jun 12, 2017 ]
Going on a long overseas trip and they work amazingly. I wear mine in NYC waiting for the subways and they block out all the subway noise so I can hear my music crystal clear!! I highly recommend them.... [ Richard  Jun 08, 2017 ]
I was just informed that I was been moved from a very quiet office to an open bay (and very loud) cubicle. :( [ Leamsi J.  Feb 27, 2017 ]
For Grandson who has very sensitive hearing and loud noises cause much stress for him. Wanna give these a try to see if they help. He is non verbal, so will have to do a lot of guessing. Hope they won't make his ears sore. [ Rose  Dec 20, 2016 ]
Best noise canceling earbuds and adjustable so you can hear more of you surroundings, if desired. [ G Lawrence  Nov 19, 2016 ]
I own a Bose radio from the 1990s that still works very well, plus I own a Bose Mini-speaker for Bluetooth use with my phone music. Both are quality products. Also Crutchfield has proven to be a quality company that I trust. I was tempted to go to the new wireless headphones by Bose, but didn't like the neck bracket design, the price, or the degraded sound quality that wireless earphones provide. [ WAYNE L  Nov 18, 2016 ]
because I can still plug into airplane entertainment systems [ Brian  Nov 01, 2016 ]
For a long flight around the world. [ Martin  Oct 05, 2016 ]
I'm very happy flying with my QuietComfort 15 over ear headphones. When flying, I cannot sleep on my side with them, without breaking them or my neck. I want to be able to use the ear buds while sleeping on my side during flights. [ David  Aug 05, 2016 ]
good reviews online [ Senthil  Jan 01, 2016 ]
