Marine Speakers: The Clarion CMQ1620R speakers are designed
and treated for use in the harsh marine environment. These watertight speakers
meet or exceed the ASTM B117 Salt/Fog Exposure standard, as well as the ASTM
D4329 UV Exposure standard.
Water-resistant Materials: Each speaker features a 6-1/2"
titanium finished, mica-injected polypropylene cone woofer with a Santoprene
rubber surround and a PEI (Poly-Ether Imide) dome tweeter. The tweeter pivots in
any direction, up to approximately 20°. The basket and grille are made of durable
BASF Luran high-impact plastic. The magnet is fully enclosed to protect it from
corrosion. The speaker includes aluminum mounting screws and an integrated rubber
mounting gasket for a watertight fit.
Drain Channel: The speaker frame and grille have an integrated
liquid drain channel to allow water to escape from the front of the cone area.
Terminals: The CMQ1620R speakers feature corrosion-resistant
gold-plated terminals; the included speaker wire has insulated quick slides to
protect the connections from moisture.
Crossover: The crossovers are covered for protection and
bolted to the speaker frame for convenient installation.
Speaker Wire Support Tab: The speaker basket includes a tab
adjacent to the speaker terminals for threading and securing the speaker wire.
Wire ties are supplied to secure the speaker wire to the tab, and to provide
strain relief for the speaker terminal.
