Clarion MW2

Our take on the Clarion MW2

Clarion logo
The MW2 wired remote control lets you manage your Clarion marine receiver from anywhere on your boat. This watertight beauty lets you change the source, switch radio bands, plus adjust the volume, track selection, toggle play/pause and more — all without touching the receiver. You can even use up to three remotes in a single installation, so you'll never be far from the controls. This remote works with Clarion's CMV1, CMD6, or M309 marine receivers. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: The MW2 remote comes with a 1-foot cable, so you'll want to purchase Clarion's 25-foot extension cable for installation.

What's in the Box:

  • MW2 Wired remote with 12" Cable attached
  • Flush mounting clamp
  • Eight 4mm Nuts (4 installed)

Product Research

Overview: The MW2 is a hardwired remote control, it is compatible with select Clarion marine head units (CMV1, CMD6, CMS1, and M309 as of Jan. 2010). The MW2 has backlit rubber buttons with the following functions:

  • Power/Source
  • Volume Up/Down
  • Left Arrow
  • Right Arrow
  • Play/Pause/Mute
  • Band

Wiring: The attached 12" cable on the MW2 connects to the back of the head unit. Because the attached cable is only a foot long, in most cases an extension cable will be needed (item number 020MWRXCRT, sold separately).

Durable: The MW2 meets ASTM B117 salt/fog exposure and ASTM D4329 UV exposure standards.

Flush Mount: The remote comes with an aluminum flush mount C-clamp. The clamp attaches to the two M4 machine screw studs on the back of the remote and holds it in place.

Remote Dimensions:

  • Diameter: 2.381"
  • Cutout Diameter: 2.003"
  • Mounting Depth: 2.127"
  • Mounting Height: 0.648"
