Yamaha designed and built the CD-S700 CD player for exceptional music performance. And with more than a century's worth of experience making musical instruments, Yamaha knows high-quality sound.

Precision engineering for crystal-clear sound
The first thing you'll notice when you put a CD in the CD-S700 is the incredibly smooth and quiet disc tray. It features Yamaha's advanced Silent Loader mechanism for movement that's completely noise and rattle free. This player's beefy power supply has separate circuits for the analog, digital, and transport sections, each with a discrete ground. This arrangement minimizes crosstalk for incredibly accurate music reproduction. And separate digital-to-analog converters for both the left and right channels ensure superior stereo separation.

Pop an audio CD into the CD-S700 to enjoy densely layered sound with broad staging and pin-point imaging. Midrange and highs sound full and clean, coupled with excellent, well-defined bass. And with a push of a button on the remote or front panel, you can engage Pure Direct mode, which turns off the display and digital outputs. This eliminates two sources of potential noise for a new level of sonic purity.

A variety of playback options
The CD-S700 also plays your home-burned discs, plus those filled with MP3 and WMA files. And a front-panel USB input lets you listen to music stored on a thumb drive or external hard drive.

Q
Is the USB port used for playing music from an iPod or iPhone?

A
No, I don't own any flash drive music media so I have no experience with use of the USB port on the S700. Carl S.

Sorry, I can't help. My music collection is 100% vinyl or disc; I don't own any music on flash drives since I'm not a big fan of compression used in that media. Per the manual instructions, it looks straightforward but I have no experience with performance.

No, it doesn't read my iPod or my Android device. An error message displays. If you want this option, I'd suggest looking at Denon

I have not used that feature on my CDS700; therefore, I do not know.

Q
What is the power voltage 110v or 220 v, cause in my country we use 220 v, is it compatible with it?

A
This usually depends on where the manufacturer is marketing his product. The manufacturer of practically all electrical items will assure their customers can operate the equipment based on the local area power requirements. So, I would not be concerned that the equipment will not operate properly unless you are ordering from a source that is not on your local power distribution level. Also, it is not uncommon for manufacturers to put a dual power switch on some electrical components. Another issue is the power cord. There are numerous plug/receptical configurations differing from country to country to be aware of.
