(One important heads-up: you will need to make a wired connection between your router and the Ethernet port on the back of the receiver.)

Stream your iTunes® library wirelessly with AirPlay

Yamaha R-N301 Network Player Controller app

Yamaha's free Network Player Controller app lets you use your phone or tablet as a powerful and intuitive Wi-Fi remote.

If you use any Apple portable devices or iTunes on your computer, then you'll love the R-N301's built-in support for Apple AirPlay. It lets you stream music directly from an iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®. Plus, if you have a large iTunes library on a networked computer, all those songs can be sent to the receiver as well. If you're not an Apple user, this receiver's DLNA-compatibility opens up wireless streaming to compatible PCs, music servers, and Android™ devices. (For AirPlay, you'll need to have Wi-Fi®, in addition to the wired connection we mentioned above.)

Free control app for Apple and Android

A network connection also offers you the opportunity for smartphone control using Yamaha's free Network Player Controller app. Download it to your Apple or Android device to use it as Wi-Fi remote. It lets you select streaming music options and even view album artwork with select sources.

Other sources, too

We know that not all music is of the streaming variety. So does Yamaha. This receiver has a generous bank of digital and analog inputs for sources like a CD or Blu-ray player, or even a cassette deck for audio dubbing.

High-res ready

Last, but certainly not least, we'd like to mention that the R-N301 can handle high-resolution FLAC and WAV files up to 24-bit/192kHz. If you've ever downloaded these kinds of high-res files from sites like HDtracks, then this receiver's high-quality built-in digital-to-analog conversion will serve them up in all of their audiophile glory. And if you haven't tried high-res music yet, this Yamaha is a great way to keep that option open for a modest price.

Outstanding Amp at an excellent price

David from Candler, NC on 5/18/2017

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I found the Yamaha R-N301 to be an outstanding amp. I bought it to replace some older gear, and I've not been disappointed. I connected it to some Polk towers and a Klipsch sub, and it has more than enough grunt to fill the room with sound. I especially like the convenience of the airplay connection that lets me access and play music from any device that I connect through my home network.

Pros: Easy connection and set up Airplay network connection works better than bluetooth

Cons: None found

Fine Receiver

Pat from Sierra Vista, AZ on 12/18/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This receiver has features, optical and coaxial digital input, internet radio, and Apple Airplay that are unusual at this price point. It also has binding posts for speaker connections. I connected the receiver to our wireless network using an Apple Airport Express router. Everything works fine, and it has a very good sound hooked up to Polk UDIO TSX 220b speakers. I would buy this receiver again. I only gave it 4 stars for three reasons. First, the digital inputs only accept PCM signals. That fact is only in the trouble shooting portion of the owner's manual instead of the connection instructions. I was getting ready to watch a movie, using a Sony Blu-Ray player, and there was no sound. You have to set your player's digital output to PCM instead of auto. Took me a while to figure this out. Second, if you use Airplay be sure to set the power on volume setting on the receiver to a low volume, 30 or below. Otherwise, if your device you are playing music from has the volume over the halfway point, the receiver will be very loud to the point of distortion. When it happened to me the first and only time, with the receiver volume at 40, I was afraid I may have damaged a speaker. Third, another reviewer also mentioned this, the volume control is not linear. You have to increase it to 40 or higher, the range is 0-99, before you get useful volume.

Pros: Digital inputs. Network connection via ethernet cable. Good sound.

Cons: Volume control not linear. Owner's manual could use improvement. Watch that volume when using Airplay.

Reasonable stereo receiver with optical digital input

Mike from El Paso, TX on 11/10/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The features are very good in terms of what available and functionality. I bought this model particularly because it was the cheapest I could find with an optical digital input. It is to replace the tinny speakers of my wife's small HD monitor which does have an optical output. The receiver is connected to a $100 per pair set of Polk bookshelves I got at Best Buy. Driving these, the Yamaha gives congested sound in more complex orchestral pieces and it's rolled off in the bass. I've driven the Polks with the high-end tube amp in my "He-man" rig and they sound surprisingly good; The Yamaha will not provide cheap audiophile sound, but my wife likes it fine and has no problems using the remote (which has the volume controls located appropriately toward the back). A good deal for the price.

Pros: Optical digital input, speaker terminals accept bare wire or bananas, good FM tuner, remote is well thought-out, 1/4 in. headphone jack on the front.

Cons: Mediocre sound from the amp.

We are very impressed with the sound quality of the Yamaha. It replaces an Onkyo unit that we purchased from you four years ago, and that suddenly quit on us! We found a weird feature of the Yamaha however, thanks to the smarts of one of your experts (he discovered it while we were with him on the phone)...one of the criteria that we needed was to be able to stream stations on VTuner as we had on the Onko. It turns out that the Yamaha won't do this...but we were able to tune stations into it's "Bookmark" feature, so all is well after several hours of set up time. We are fans of Crutchfield

More sound for your money

Bob from Poestenkill, NY on 9/8/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I was looking for a reasonably priced receiver that had Pandora built in and this was the perfect model for me. I like the fact that I can have two sets of speakers set up and listen to my music poolside, in the house or both at the same time. This receiver actually made my existing speakers sound better! For the price, you will not be disappointed.

Pros: Great price

Cons: It wasn't free

Just Right

Adam from Seattle, WA on 8/26/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall this receiver sounds great, comes in at a pretty affordable price, and has the functionality I wanted. I was looking at receivers mainly with Apple AirPlay, and needed both wifi ability and built in AirPlay. This unit does not have wifi, but the rest works perfectly. So I bought a refurbished airport express and made it a receiver of my network (super easy to do) and connected it to the receiver. Cheaper and in my opinion, better than built in wifi.

Pros: Has plenty of power (not to be compared to power amps, but great for a small receiver) AirPlay works perfect

Cons: Absolutely none!

Disappointed in Bass Quaility

Paul from Scottsdale, AZ on 8/19/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Disappointed in the bass quality with the Yamaha. I am replacing an Onkyo receiver. The Onkyo can only play A or B speakers at once - Not both speakers at the same time. However, the bass quality of the Yamaha is poor - very shallow bass richness. The Onkyo did have a solid full rich bass quality. So, I probably will return the Yamaha. Surprised in the Yamaha since I have had great response other Yamaha equipment.

Pros: Nice looking unit Simple to set up and use Can play both A & B speakers at the same time

Cons: Very shallow bass - not a rich bass tone

This receiver is great. I have indoor and outdoor speakers, and it allows me to have them on separate channels so you can use 1 or both. I would highly recommend this if you need A&B.

Pros: Has 2 zones.

Cons: Does not have HDMI inputs.

This unit is used as a stereo for a small retail store. Very easy to hook up. Two best attributes to date are the internet connectivity and the remote app which allows for control without touching or being near the unit. Good buy if you need a simple system.

Cons:

Solid performer, great sound

rmjb from Trinidad and Tobago on 6/27/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After my Onkyo AVR died, which was doing double duty driving my 5.1 in my TV room and Zone 2 driving music in my living room I decided to go for separate components. I chose the R-N301 after a lot of research. It had the features I wanted; most notably network control so that the unit could be in another room, as per my wife's requirements ;). First of all, the tuner works solidly. Reception of FM stations is great. Reviews for other more expensive brands indicated that their tuner section was weak, and FM was an important requirement of mine. Secondly, the sound is awesome. It definitely sounds better than my Onkyo's Zone 2. They both drove the same speakers with the same sources, but this Yamaha unit really fills out the sound better. Lastly, the network control is also solid. While the Onkyo app was also great, especially after they revamped it, it would take a few seconds to reconnect every time you launched the app. The Yamaha NP Controller app relaunches immediately and is also very good to look at. Overall I am very happy with the purchase and banking on Yamaha's reputation for reliability to keep this unit for many years to come.

Pros: Great sound for my use, network control, good FM reception. Good looking unit.

Cons: No advanced features such as loudness control, sub out, etc. But if you're buying this unit you should know that already. You're choosing the entry level product. Supposedly it will distort a high volumes, but I haven't gone that loud and will probably never do so.

Mostly good, some bad

Steve from Aiken, SC on 6/20/2016

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great to be able to listen to Internet radio and music I have stored on my computer. However, once in a while, the volume will stop working via the I-phone app. and I'll have to resort to the Yamaha remote. This seems to happen a couple of times each week. Other than that...I'm a satisfied customer.

Pros: Good sound, Internet/LAN access, acceptable cost

Cons: Volume control occasionally stops working on all three of our I-phone/IPad apps and we have to use the Yamaha remote or adjust volume via the knob on the receiver.

My receiver was easy enough for me to connect to my surround sound without the aid of my kids!! It's easy to use and the directions were fairly simple. But I think what I like best is the support I've received on a couple of occasions from the Crutchfield staff... They are amazing!

Pros: Directions made it easy to connect.

Cons: Entering my email address to connect to Pandora was rather tedious.

Very Good Quality, Nice Features

Max from Illinois on 11/27/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted a good quality, two channel network stereo receiver for my main entertainment center and this fit the bill nicely. Replacing my previous Sony receiver which passed on after a 7 year life and having had disappointing sound quality from an Onkyo, this Yamaha provides much better sound without needing to use an equalizer. The stereo separation is very impressive, overall sound quality is really great - very good bass without a "bass boost" button, which my Sony had. I love the app that lets me control Pandora station selections from my Android. Remote is not cheap looking; it's nice quality and nicely designed. I like the ability to play music on my Wi-Fi laptop thru the unit via Yamaha's Android app. I can go thru my FM Preset stations without going over to the receiver to change them. Very happy with this Yamaha. Would be nice if they could add Rhapsody to the apps that work with this unit.

Pros: Great sound, ease of use when navigating thru features, nice remote, good value for the price.

Cons: No ability to play Rhapsody thru the Yamaha app

Easy flexible listening

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Recently moved into a town house and wanted music throughout. I have a great 22 year old McIntosh Receiver in the basement. For the bedroom I bought this Yamaha specifically for the Pandora access. I drive a set of Bose Acoustimas 5 small double cube speakers with a subwoof. It's great. The receiver brings in the Pandora as well as FM stations. That's basically what we use it for and not at high volumes. Just easy. For the living room I wanted the same internet access, so I bought another one but I have to return it because the unit doesn't allow the use of an external equalizer which I need for the speakers I am acquiring. But the bedroom the current speakers and the ones in the bedroom, this unit was easy to set up and great and easy to use. And a great price.

Pros: Easy set up. Great Pandora usage. So easy.

Cons: Can't loop an external equalizer. have to return it for an Onkyo. But will keep the other unit. Definitely worth the price.

I admittedly haven't kept up with music tech in ages and was still using an 15-20 year old Sony receiver that played component parts like the cd player & turntable, but it had no internet access. When the Sony died, I decided it was time to upgrade. This Yamaha has been incredibly easy to set up even for someone as behind the times as I am. Playing music from my laptop & accessing internet radio was simple. No complaints so far.

Everything about this unit works great, easy to set up and use, however my old Yamaha of 25 years had bass, this unit has almost zero and I dig the bass! Good, solid, simple stereo

Fig from Kingwood on 7/9/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like many things about this stereo so far, one being it is simple, I am an engineer so it is nice to take a break away from the complexities of my job when I want to listen to music. This is my first Yamaha stereo system, I have been a Sony guy from day one, but I liked the feature/price point of the Yamaha better than the Sony. I really hope it is built well, and I will put it to the test, it is in my garage and with the Texas heat and humidity combined it is about the worst place I could put it, aside from it being out in the front yard. Time will tell. So far I love it, good outputs, internet ready and airplay. And it has an AM loop antenna, and actually pulls them in great. Another awesome experience with Crutchfield (as usual) keeps me coming back time and time again.

Pros: Simple Well Built Feature Rich for the price point Output Power Quality of Tuners AM and FM

Cons: It won't clean your garage for you.

Good buy

D from South Carolina on 5/25/2015

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Love it. I had noise with my previous receiver that I think was related to the two conductor wiring in my older home. I never was able to resolve it, even with the help of electrical engineer coworkers. The noise is gone, and the sound quality is amazing. I was prepared for the worst, but couldn't be happier. I wish I'd ordered it sooner.

Pros: Easy set up, iphone and iPad app, air play, optical input sounds great with TV

Cons:

I am looking forward to setting up this receiver to its fullest capacity. As I read the owner's manual, it seems to offer just what I was looking for in a "simple" two-ch. unit. The advisors were exceptionally professional and helpful... taking the time to answer all of my questions.

Pros: Well built with typical Yamaha attention to quality. Very interested in this unit's "networking" capability.

Cons: None

I have read several positive reviews before ordering this unit however my experience have been somewhat mixed. Yamaha technical support was very helpful when internet radio did not work out of the box and diagnosed possible bad Internet card. When I power cycled the receiver and it started working only to quit working again couple of days later. When some spends this kind of $$$ we expect the unit to be troble free.

I wanted to listen to music outside and be able to control it, but I didn't want to use a wireless system. This was exactly what I was looking for. "Natural Sound" Concept: Yamaha, with a long history of over 125 years as a musical instrument maker, also has a high reputation for HiFi components. Yamaha's R-N301 network stereo receiver takes advantage of this rich experience and high technological expertise. Based on the concept of "Natural Sound", for reproducing all music as it really sounds, and built with scrupulous care from circuit design to basic sound production, the R-N301 reproduces high sound quality and musically rich sound.

Stereo Amplifier: The Yamaha R-N301 features a stereo amplifier rated at 100 watts x 2-channels, measured from 40-20 kHz into 8 with 0.2% THD.

High Quality Circuit Design: The R-N301 network receiver's design minimizes the length of signal routes and optimizes the circuit layout. Positioning the power transformer near the power amp circuit reduces power loss while improving the supply of peak power enabling a high output of volume. The signal ground and power supply ground are connected at one point, eliminating mutual interference to achieve a higher S/N ratio. The result is sound filled with clarity and a feeling of openness.

Tone Control: You can adjust the balance of the high-frequency range (Treble) and low-frequency range (Bass) of sounds output from the receiver' front left and right speakers to obtain a desired tone. You can independently adjust the bass (20Hz) and treble (20kHz) from -10 to +10. You can also balance your connected speakers left to right.

Volume Setup: The Yamaha R-N301 allows you to customize the receiver's volume levels.

  • Max Volume Adjustment: Use this feature to set the receiver's maximum volume level. This feature is useful to avoid turning the volume too loud by mistake. You can set the Max Volume from 1 to 99.
  • Initial Volume Setting: Use this feature to set the volume level when the power is turned on. You can choose between Off (same as the volume when the unit was turned off), Mute, or 1 to 99.
  • Input Trim: Use this feature to adjust the volume level of each input. This is useful to balance the level of each input to avoid sudden changes in volume when switching between input sources. The range is from -10 to +10.

Analog + Digital Inputs: The Yamaha R-N301 offers both analog and digital audio inputs in order to connect a variety of source components.

  • Analog Audio Inputs: The Yamaha network receiver features four analog stereo RCA inputs to connect up to six audio components, and one stereo RCA record output to connect to a CD-recorder or other recording device.
  • Digital Audio Inputs: The R-N301 is equipped for digital audio input, with both optical and coaxial terminals. The optical input is for receiving audio from a TV and Satellite/Cable box, while two coaxial input is used for receiving audio from a Blu-ray Disc player and CD player. The audio stays in the digital domain, giving you pure, pristine dynamic sound for all your entertainment sources, from sports and other programs to movies and concerts.

A & B Speaker Terminals: The R-N301 is fitted with A & B speaker terminals so you can power up to two pair of speakers (the A & B speaker terminals are wired in parallel inside the receiver). The speaker selector switch on the front-panel of the receiver makes it easy to switch between speaker outputs, allowing you to hear the sound from one speaker pair (A or B) or from both speaker pairs (A+B). The eight binding-post speaker terminals that will accept bare wire (up to 10AWG), pin-connectors, and banana plugs (single only).

Note: If connecting two pair of speakers, you will need to use 16-ohm rated speakers. If connecting only one pair of speakers, you can connect 8-ohm rated speakers.

Headphone Jack: The Yamaha R-N301 is equipped with a front-panel 1/4" headphone jack for connecting a set of headphone, so you can listen to your music privately. Connecting a set of headphones automatically mutes the receiver's speaker outputs.

Ethernet LAN Port (optional WiFi): The Yamaha network receiver is fitted with a RJ-45 Ethernet (LAN) port to connect the receiver to your home network to access your DLNA music server, or Internet Radio. There is also a rear-panel USB type-A port (5V/0.5A) that allows you to connect Yamaha's YWA-10 wireless network adapter (022YWA10, sold separately) for a wireless network connection.

DLNA Certification: The R-N301 is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) 1.5 and Windows 7/8 compliant for audio networking. This means it's easier for you to access and enjoy digital music stored on your PC. You can use your PC to play high-bit rate music content through your audio system, or use the R-N301 to browse and play music files on your hard drive. You can control playback of your streamed audio files from the network receiver's remote control. The receiver also supports ID3-Tag and META tag information so song title, artist name, and album name can be displayed on the receiver's front-panel. The Yamaha receive supports the playback of the following music files.

  • MP3 (up to 48kHz)
  • WMA (up to 48kHz)
  • AAC (up to 48kHz)
  • WAV (up to 192kHz)
  • FLAC (up to 192kHz)
Note: The network receiver supports the following music servers - (1) PC with Windows Media Player 11 or later installed, (2) PC with DLNA/UPnP Certificate server software installed, (3) NAS with DLNA/UPnP certification.

Internet Radio: The Yamaha R-N301's network connection provides access to Pandora, Spotify Connect, and vTuner Internet Radio. You can control the Internet Radio services from the network receiver's remote control and front-panel display. The receiver's front-panel display will indicate station name, album name, song title, and elapsed time.

  • Pandora: Pandora is free, personalized radio that plays music and comedy you'll love. Just start with the name of one of your favorite artists, songs, comedians or composers and Pandora will create a custom station that plays similar tracks. You can also rate (thumbs up/thumbs down) songs as they play, and Pandora will adapt stations to your feedback. You can even bookmark up to 100 stations and easily switch between favorites.
  • vTuner: You can also listen to Internet radio stations using the vTuner Internet Radio Station database service particularly customized for this unit, providing a database of numerous radio stations around the world. You can search for Internet Radio stations by Location, Genre, New, Popular, or Podcast.
  • Spotify Connect: With the Spotify app on your Apple iOS or Android smartphone, you've got instant access to millions of songs. And now you can stream those same songs from your smartphone to the Yamaha network receiver by using Spotify Connect; simply hit play on the app to start streaming music. What's more, when you've been listening to Spotify on your smartphone outside and come inside, the song immediately begins to stream to the receiver for uninterrupted music enjoyment. You can also personalize playlists and receive phone calls while listening to music. The Spotify app for Apple iOS/Android devices and a premium account are required.

AirPlay: AirPlay lets you stream your favorite songs directly from your Apple iOS (4.3.3+) device or from your iTunes (10.2.2+) library on your Windows PC or Mac computer to the network stereo receiver, over your home's wireless network connection. From your Apple iOS device you are able to stream stored music on your device, downloaded music apps, and music on your iCloud to the AV receiver. From your Windows or Mac you can stream your stored iTunes music library on your computer to the network stereo receiver; you can even download Apple's free Remote App onto your compatible iOS device to browse and control playback functions of the music stored in your iTunes music library on your computer that is being streamed to the AV receiver. With AirPlay you also get to see song/artist information on the receiver's front-panel display.

AM/FM Tuner: The Yamaha R-N301 network receiver features a built-in AM/FM tuner with manual, seek, and preset tuning. The R-N301 lets you store up to 40 AM/FM station presets. This can be done manually or automatically (auto-preset tuning). You can set this receiver to automatically match FM broadcast frequencies in stereo, or convert the frequency to monaural for weaker stations. An indoor FM wire antenna and AM loop antenna are included with the receiver.

Firmware Updates: New firmware will be released for the purpose of additional features or product improvements. Firmware updates can be downloaded from the Yamaha website. If this unit is connected to the Internet, the receiver will indicate when a new firmware version is available and you can download the firmware via the network connection. Firmware updates normally take approximately 20 minutes or longer. Check Yamaha's Support Download Site for the most recent firmware updates.

Features that fit my needs [ G  Mar 14, 2017 ]
I have had good experiences with Yamaha products in the past, giving this stereo receiver a shot to be used for music around the house, powering in-wall and outdoor speakers throughout the house. [ Francisco  Feb 25, 2017 ]
Features, price, customer reviews, brand reputation [ J  Jan 28, 2017 ]

AirPlay music from my network media server. Easy use Yamaha App. Plenty of power. [ James  Dec 10, 2016 ]
I use for every small business install where the customer wants to control from phone. Combine this with a multiroom amplifier and you can control a virtually unlimited amount of speakers. App is simple to use and fast. [ NICK  Nov 30, 2016 ]
It is for my patio speakers and I wanted something that I could control remotely via a smartphone or tablet. It also has DLNA, Airplay, internet radio and digital inputs. I chose the Yamaha over the Harmon Kardon model that was on sale because the Yamaha seemed more flexible on the networking side. Yamaha also has a better instruction manual and their app had a demo mode so I could evaluate it during my research. In the end, I just felt more comfortable with the Yamaha. [ Ralph  Nov 25, 2016 ]
Excellent value, this has all the features I was looking for. [ Eric J.  Nov 19, 2016 ]
I have Yamaha components, I like the brand. [ Tom  Nov 18, 2016 ]
Low cost network ready receiver [ Timothy  Oct 03, 2016 ]
I have used in the past and am pleased [ Mark  Sep 21, 2016 ]
Lucy R. advised me that this receiver was very user friendly and that it had controls on the face of the unit rather than imbedded in and only accessible through a remote. (I have had nightmarish experiences with a Denon AVR that is beyond my technical scope.) Lucy's Bio: http://www.crutchfield.com/Support/Bio.aspx?bio=119 [ jakie  Aug 15, 2016 ]
I wanted a relatively inexpensive receiver to power my outdoor speakers. I wanted to be able to stream music to it and connect to my home network media. [ MICHAEL  Aug 10, 2016 ]
I need one. [ Petar  Jul 05, 2016 ]

You can stream music via AirPlay on Apple devices. I don't use tape decks or phono. The number of external devices is dependent on the number of available inputs [ Raymond  May 22, 2016 ]
I have a CD player and a DVD player hooked up. It does AirPlay, just have the right remote. Not sure if other items can hook up as I have an AV guy that does all my setups. [ Maureen  May 21, 2016 ]
I think you can connect 3 components to it. I just use it only for streaming music to 2 room. It has a cd input and 3 additional line input on the back. This email won't let me post a pic for you. [ Minh  May 21, 2016 ]
Not sure about the two tape decks but not Bluetooth but I purchased a Focal aftermarket from Crutchfield and it works great. I also had to add a secondary amp for complete 8 speaker operation. Sounds great! [ MERCURIO`S  May 21, 2016 ]
I use bipolar speakers, so changing speaker outputs is not critical to me, but in version 4.5 of the App there is no speaker selection. You can power on the receiver (only the receiver), select inputs, mute the speakers and control loudness. The remote works very nice especially for streaming music from a server,r over the internet or AirPlay. I would recommend this receiver to anyone who looks for an entry level networked device. [ MARCO  May 18, 2016 ]
I dont think so, if you mean speaker A and B. My unit is offline so I can't test. You can download the app and get a look at it. Last version I used wasn't much. Very limited functionality. Mostly just change inputs and volume [ TOMMY  May 18, 2016 ]
Yamaha amps do not turn off unles you turn them off. (you will hear a relay click) so yes it shoud wake up when ever you use it (if display has gone blank to save energy) [ David  Feb 22, 2016 ]
I've tried to do that and it didn't work, I've had to use the Yamaha NP controller App to turn it on first, then it worked [ Anthony  Feb 22, 2016 ]
Yes, but does not have a pre-amp built into the receiver. [ BRUCE  Feb 14, 2016 ]
Yes. Airplay or Bluetooth. [ EMILE  Dec 21, 2015 ]
Yes, airplay is supported. [ JOEL  Dec 18, 2015 ]
hi Jason: Yes, I have the exact situation, and it is working vey well [ HARRY  Aug 03, 2015 ]
As long as the R- N301 has a RJ45 connection yes you can. The YWA-10 offers the opportunity to connect two devices. Setup of the YWA-10 is through the receiver. [ MARK C  Aug 02, 2015 ]
You don't even need the Yamaha brand. I bought an inexpensive on and it has a cat 5 jack and connects by a standard Ethernet cable to the receiver. But I don't even use that. I bought an iPod Touch (an old iPhone also works) and connected via a 3.5mm aux cable to the receiver. All my tunes and apps on the iPhone make it a jukebox with Spotify, Pandora, and anything else you want. Way easier to navigate than the 1-line display I the receiver. [ TOMMY  Aug 02, 2015 ]
Yes you can. That is my current set up. [ RONALD B  Aug 02, 2015 ]
I wouldn't know that. I actually changed to the 700 series Yamaha because it had a sub outlet, I am very pleased with it. [ MERCURIO`S  Jun 26, 2015 ]
Sorry; I don't have an answer for you as I simply don't know. I bought this unit to replace a 20-year old Yamaha receiver that lost sound; I also wanted something more powerful to drive a home sound system (6 sets of built-in speakers). this receiver has certainly live up to all expectations for my needs. [ HDR  Jun 26, 2015 ]
Yes you can. [ KEITH  Jun 04, 2015 ]
yes it does have a cd jack [ DOUG HENRY  May 28, 2015 ]
Tes vía red white jacks [ GERARDO  May 28, 2015 ]
Yes, It has a rca input for CD player. [ JOEL  May 28, 2015 ]
Yes [ BRIAN  Mar 10, 2015 ]
I am not using a subwoofer, but according to Yamaha, it's a breeze to hook one up. See Yamaha's support site for a detailed diagram on how to connect a subwoofer (I cannot post links to other sites as part of the answer). [ MARCO  Mar 09, 2015 ]
