Overview: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter can be used to connect a 2012-up Yamaha network A/V receiver to your wireless home network. The YWA-10 connects to the Ethernet (RJ-45) port on the back of the Yamaha network A/V receiver and communicates directly with your wireless router. It's powered by the rear-panel DC Out/USB type-A port (5V/0.5A) of the receiver, so there is no need to take up an additional electrical outlet. The YWA-10 even has a second Ethernet (RJ-45) output that can be used to provide network access to another device such as a Smart TV or Blu-ray player.
Yamaha Receiver Compatibility: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter is compatible with 2012 Yamaha network A/V receivers that feature a rear-panel Ethernet (RJ-45) port and rear-panel DC Out/USB type-A port (5V/0.5A). Current compatible Yamaha A/V receivers include (as of 6/13/2013):
- RX-V Series: 475, 575, 675, 775 (already included with the RX-V775), 673, 773 (already included with the RX-V773)
- RX-A (Aventage) Series: 730, 830, 1030, 2030, 3030, 720, 820, 1020, 2020, 3020
Note: The Yamaha YWA-10 can also be used with other network components that feature a rear-panel Ethernet (RJ-45 port), but will require a USB-to-AC power adapter (sold separately).
WiFi Connectivity: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter is WiFi IEEE 802.11b/g/n compatible over a 2.4GHZ frequency and supports WPS (WiFi Protected Setup).
Dual LAN Ports: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter is equipped with two Ethernet (RJ-45) ports. One is used to connect your compatible 2012 Yamaha network A/V receiver, while the other can be connected to a second network source; such as a Smart TV or Blu-ray player.
USB Powered: The Yamaha YWA-10 Wireless Network Adapter is powered by the rear-panel USB type-A port (5V/0.5A) of your 2012-up Yamaha network A/V receiver; so no additional electrical outlet is needed. Power is supplied to the YWA-10 when the connected Yamaha receiver is powered "On". The YWA-10 can be powered even if the Receiver is powered 'Off", when the receiver is set to "Network Standby" mode.
Note: Do not connect the included USB power cable to a USB hub.

Why did you buy this?
for my Yamaha receiver [ FRANCESCO Apr 10, 2017 ]
Appeared to offer all the features I wanted and trust the Yamaha brand. Current Yamaha receiver lasted almost 40 years. [ Terrence Feb 28, 2016 ]
Was advised it was necessary to allow Airplay feature to function correctly on Yamaha R-N500 receiver. [ Larry Feb 27, 2016 ]
Had to buy this to get the Apple airplay to work. Not a big fan of this overpriced item. [ RONALD B Feb 11, 2016 ]
3 questions already asked
are you asking about buying a replacements? [ M. BROOKE Oct 04, 2015 ]
THIS DEVICE CONNECTS WIRELESSLY THROUGH MY APPLE ROUTER. IT THEN ALLOWS MY BLUE RAY TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET TO RETRIEVE INTERNET SERVICES, SUCH AS NETFLIX AND HULU+ [ LEHAN S Feb 27, 2015 ]
Thanks Thomas.. I tried one before and it works with audio.. but shame the Yamaha RX-A1030 does not seem to playback video files through its USB inputs!! [ migvar Feb 27, 2015 ]
Works great for audio -- don't think it supports video. Haven't tried, but the specs say audio. Basically it enables AirPlay on Apple products and it allows you to download an app to control your unit. I like it for what it is. [ THOMAS W Feb 26, 2015 ]
emanuel [ EMANUEL Feb 26, 2015 ]
Miguel, I am not really understanding your question. There are multiple ways you can watch videos via usb connection or wi-fi but the Yamaha YWA-10 is only used for streaming internet music through your receiver. You should look into purchasing an Apple TV, Roku, Amazon Fire, Google Chromecast or any of the other myriad devices used for video streaming. Hope this answers your question, [ GLENN N Feb 26, 2015 ]
I use iPhone only to control [ LUIS E Aug 19, 2015 ]
I don't know; I could never get the thing to work per there web instructions and web site. Pretty sad huh? Let me know if you are able to figure it out. [ CLINTON Aug 19, 2014 ]
Have never tried it, only have it connected to my receiver.... [ PATRICK Aug 11, 2014 ]
My Yamaha YWA-10 is connected to my homes wireless router remotely without any wires. This allows us to use all our mobile devices (several iphones, Ipad's etc. to our amp. We all just love it as we all have different tastes in music and we all have our own music collection. This is a wireless connection device to your home network. I don't believe you can hard wire it to your wired router. If your on the fence about investing in a wireless router, Do it! You will have no regrets... Today's wireless is just outstanding! my wife prints reports from her iphone and to our wireless printer. The internet connection to our smart TV and Blue Ray player is outstanding! We use it to watch Netflix all the time with no buffiting. Hay, get the Yamaha, you won't be sorry.... [ RICHARD D Aug 11, 2014 ]
I have only used it for one device. [ HENRY M Aug 10, 2014 ]
Yes you can but it has to be a apple product not a android [ SCOTT Aug 10, 2014 ]
AMP can be controlled from multiple devices [ ROBERT MICHAEL Aug 10, 2014 ]
Not sure exactly what you are trying to do, but let me tell you how I use it and I think that will answer your question. 1. Controlling the unit. I use an apple platform, not droid, but you can install an app from Yamaha on all your devices and basically use any of them as a remote. When it works, this is great, but I have not had good experience with the app. It loses the device and I have to plug it into the computer and reset it. You are supposed to make sure the network is set to standby, but that does not solve the problem. Be cautious if this is why you want this thing. 2. Using it for AirPlay. This works great pretty much 100% of the time (which is why I'm pretty sure the above problem is the app and not the device). This way I can use any of my devices to push music, etc. to the receiver through my network. So, in sum, for both ways I use you can use as many devices as you want. I love the AirPlay feature. Using it to convert a device to a remote has not been worthwhile. I hope the android app is better. [ THOMAS W Aug 10, 2014 ]
