The result — they'll deliver big sound even without an amplifier.

The GTc652 6-1/2" component system features polypropylene woofers that deliver deep, accurate bass. Blaupunkt designs the woofer baskets to allow proper ventilation, so the voice coils stay cool for higher power handling. Mylar semi-dome tweeters reproduce the vocal and instrumental details smoothly and cleanly. Mounting hardware comes included in the box, so you can flush-, surface-, or angle-mount the tweeters to achieve great stereo imaging in your car.

Complete with designer grilles and chromium-plated tweeter rings, GTc652 components will bring out all the musical details that factory speakers miss — your music will sound almost as lifelike and natural as it does in concert.

I replaced factory speakers in my Dodge Caliber - running off my Kenwood deck sounds so much fuller and more depth. Price was decent too and easy to install !!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speakers are a great value. The price is low and the performance is very good. They didn't fit my car without modification. I had to bend the ridges flat with pliers, use a hacksaw to cut notches, and then screw them into the factory screw holes in the doors. I had to cut and solder the tweeters in order for them to use the factory harness. The bass reproduction is great, and so are the highs. These aren't top-of-the-line but their very good performance for little cost makes them a great value for anyone looking for simple replacements. The modifications I had to make makes me give them only a 4-star rating. If they fit better out-of-the-box they would receive a 5-star rating. 1995 Toyota Camry AIWA CDC-MP3 (2) 6x9 Blaupunkt GTx693's (2) 6.5" Blaupunkt GTc652's

I was thinking that these were going to be a little more punchy but I was wrong. The Tweeters are great sounding. The Woofer on the other hand doesn't really bring much to the table. If I had to do it again I would have purchased one with a crossover box. But these speakers still do a good job just not a great job.

Purchased these to replace the damaged OEM Infinity speakers in a 2002 Durango. They are crisper and cleaner than the OEMs at "normal" volume, but distort quickly as the volume is turned up - more so than the OEMs. The holes in the mounting brackets provided by Crutchfield did not line up with the speakers and I had to drill new ones and one of the tabs was too long and had to be cut off.

Installed these in my 02 S2000. They do sound better than the factory speakers and tweeters, im powering them from my alpine 9883 receiver. Once they break in a bit im hoping to hear the full package. Overall, for a person on a budget, these fit the bill nicely and get the job done.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these speakers to upgrade the factory door speakers on my 2001 Monte Carlo. They sound a bit better than stock with the factory headunit (a bit cleaner overall and crisper bass response). I imagine that if I added an aftermarket headunit or an amp for more power that they'd sound great. Installation was super easy with the wiring harness supplied. The bracket was unnecessary however, as the speakers fit right into the existing speaker hole. I just drilled self-tapping screws through the mounting tabs on the speaker into some fresh plastic on the stock bracket and they fit right in very snugly. The best part of the whole package for me is that I placed my crutchfield order at 6:30pm on a wednesday. I arrived at work (where I had my package sent to) at noon on thursday and my package was already there. I was amazed. Three cheers to crutchfield for <24hr shipping!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just installed 2 sets of these in my '07 Eclipse. Wow, these sound spectacular without an amp. If you're looking for some awesome sounding speakers, these are the ones. And you can't beat the price. These were very easy to install, however the Crutchfield master sheet instructions left a bit out, and were vague at the best.......the skoshe hole adapters they sent had to have new holes drilled in them to mount the speakers properly, because they were a little big for the adapters...... these speakers do not produce a lot of bass, they are midwoofers and tweeters, you will need, and I stress neeeeed, a subwoofer of some sorts to put bass back into the car if you are replacing full range speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Im not a speaker expert by any means , I just love listening to music while I drive and I am picky about sound. I made a good choice with these. I run 4 of these with a 200 watt rms amp. PLENTY loud with no distortion, good lows, great highs, slightly weak in the mids. I think these might require an amp to really perform. I do now believe in the "speakers need time to break in" theory as I was a little disapointed until i used them for a few days, they really seem to have woken up and Im amazed by the amount and quality of sound these little speakers put out.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These little speakers work pretty nicely. The highs are a lot better than the stock door tweeters I had, so I am happy. As for the woofers. The bass is decent too. I am running the stock amp in my truck, so I can't expect too much. But an improvement any way you look at it. The woofer installation leaves a little to be desired though. The adaptors that Crutchfield sent saved me, but it wasn't a drop in fit. I had to tweak it a little. But it will work. the tweeters went in pretty easily though. Just had to cut out the stock tweeters, enlarge the old hole, and drop them in. Overall, I am pretty happy with them. I have a much better sound picture now, and got the thumbs up from the wife for sound quality. So it must be good.

These Speakers are great!!! The Base on them are as good as you can get for being a speaker with no Subs. Specially for the Price. Fits nice in my 2001 Dodge Dokata just with some minor not hard modifications to the brackets that came with the kit. It took about 2 hours to replace all Four speakers and tweaters in my truck. BUT the only downside to these speakers is that on some hard hitting base notes doesnt get all the sound just muffles out but thats with my Base boosters and Base turned all the way up on my Kenwood Faceplate. Easly fixed by turning down the base on those songs and still sounds terrific!

Purchased these speakers for the front channel in my 07 Corolla. They sounds way better then stock and in fact sound pretty good hooked to the new JVC headunit. My only issue is with the adapters that Crutchfield included with the purchase. The adapter rings are for 6 in' speakers and these are 6.5 I ended up not using the adapters in did my own mods to make for a good install. Nice speakers for the price.

The factory cones had decentigraded in my 01 Silverado. I've had nice alpine type R components and these are a little more than half as good and about half the price. I used dynamat and speaker baffles also. The bass response is really nice. I think they might sound a little better after two weeks of break in time. I think these would brighten up alot more with an amp. It almost sounds like they are voiced for an amp. I plan on getting an amp later anyway.

Better than I thought

Wesley from Bourbonnais, Illinois on 6/9/2008

From reading the reviews of others and around the net I was a little leery of purchasing these for replacements in my 2001 Durango. But I am not a follower so I don't jump on the bandwagon just because someone says so. The instructions were easy to follow and they were real simple to mount into the door panels although I had to modify the rear doors for the tweeters, nothing major. Time for testing... I have a JVC KD-HDR1 HD Radio installed, also purchased from Crutchfield. They sounded awesome. I was able to turn the volume to 36 with no distortion. After that it was too loud to listen to. Some songs were a little rough on the woofers but a minor adjustment on the built in EQ fixed that. These speakers are an excellent addition to my truck and would buy again.

These are nice speakers but not the greatest but compared to factory speakers they are better by far. The biggest complaint I have is the instructions or lack of. Budget component speakers

Ijoo Lee from Little Ferry, NJ on 5/20/2008

These are the component speakers you want to get if you are on a tight budget. I've installed these on 2007 Honda Civic LX coupe with factory receiver. I was really disappointed in these speakers at first, but you gotta let them break in a little bit before you can really hear what these speakers are capable of. The stock speakers on my Civic are made by Pioneer, and they have pretty good "cheap factory bass", but with these speakers, you get clearer sound and more sharp bass. Bass is not heart pounding, but you get what you paid for. I really hope this helps all the people that are considering to buy this set. I had to drill holes in the door to flush mount the tweeters. When you do, make sure you secure the backing with some rubber band or glue. They wil loosen up and the bass from the woofers will rattle, and the tweeter brackets will make noise if you don't tighten and secure the tweeter brackets by whatever means necessary. I had to find out the hard way, and had to take apart the door panel again. Make sure everything perfect when you first install aftermarket speakers on your factory system. If you repeatedly take apart the factory doors, they will eventually loosen up and rattle when your speakers pump out bass. Overall pretty good component set, especially when you don't have to worry about mounting a separate crossover. BTW, buy a 1 3/4'' hole saw to make holes to flush mount the tweeters.

Installed these in a 2001 Dakota R/T to replace blown factory Infinity components. Installation was not too difficult, minor modifications required. When I hooked these speakers up and ititially turned on the stereo, I thought these were absolutly horrible speakers. I almost put them back in the box right then to return but I thought they are better than nothing... After putting the door panels back on they seemed to sound MUCH better. I still think the factory Infinity speakers sounded better but their foam surrounds are completly disintegrated. I will have to listen to these for a couple more days and decide if I want to return them...

Best value for component speakers

Kyle from Texas on 4/14/2008

1995 Chevrolet C Series

I wanted to replace the stock speakers in my 1995 Chevrolet C1500 with a component system because the truck already had factory openings for tweeters. These Blaupunkt speakers turned out be a great value. They aren't spectacular, but they are probably the best sounding pair of $80 speakers I've ever heard. A huge improvement over stock, the bass is much more responsive and free of distortion, the midrange is a lot smoother and not as harsh, and the treble is so much more brighter and clearer. The tweeters fit almost perfectly in the stock locations near the power lock and window switches. Having the tweeters higher up and closer to my ears really helped improved the sound stage. It sounds like the band is playing right in front of you now. Surprisingly, these component speakers don't need a lot of power, they sound great running off my Kenwood head unit. They actually play slightly louder than the factory speakers did. Overall, this a great system for the money.

ASK from Driggs, ID on 11/22/2007

The installation went pretty easy on a '99 Silverado, it could have been easier if I had taken the whole door panel off. The only thing I would have liked to have is a custom bracket to install the tweeter back in the stock location. The speakers sound great I actually had to turn the bass down because they put out way better sound than stock speakers. They need to have an amplifier to really get the full sound out of them, so that will be my next purchase.

chris from San Jose, CA on 11/2/2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced the factory door speakers in my Kia Spectra5 with these. Combined with the little JVC sub unit and a pair of bass blockers, the sound is pretty decent. By tapping the front speaker lines for the sub and installing the bass blockers on all of the speakers, the less than 150hz bass comes only from the sub and the bass adjustment on the factory head unit can be used to adjust the sub without adding distortion to the other speakers. For relatively little money, the sound is altogether impressive. The speakers aren't technically fantastic, but they offer a solid value for this type of application.

The speaker is a pretty good factory replacement. I had to do some custom instalation of the speakers. I had to drill a hole in the door panel where the component speaker mounted. They installed easy after that because of all the adapters and options they give you with the speakers. I wish the speakers had more of a deep bass sound with them. The highs and mids sound great. I would reccommend then to someone who wants to replace there fatory speakers with a cheaper aftermarket system.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are an affordable and easy upgrade from the factory speakers, especially with the free goodies that Crutchfield sends to get started. I currently have these speakers powered by an aftermarket Kenwood head unit and I'm pleased with the pairing. The various tweeter mounting cups offer a wide range of installation options, considering the low price of these units. However, I docked these units a star because the instructions do not show how to use all of the materials that are supplied. Despite that, the installation was fairly straight-forward. Some (expected) fabrication and drilling was required for my application. This is a smart purchase for someone who is looking to get a nice pair of component speakers in their vehicle without spending hours to do it.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

If you dont want to spend a lot of money for a factory replacement these speakers would do nicely. I bought these speakers to replace the factory front component speakers in my wifes Olds 88LS. I had previously replaced the rear speakers with some Pioneer 6x9 3-ways and the factory radio with a Kenwood unit. Adding these Blaupunkt componenets really made the difference in the way the whole system sounded. The difference between the factory speakers and the GTc652 is like night and day. These spaekers can reproduce a much wider range and they seem to match up nicely with the Kenwood unit. (probably would match up to a lot of units as most makes put out similar power.)You wont get bone rattling bass but the lows are good and the highs are very good. Install in this car wasn't to bad but I did have to do some minor modification to get the woofers to fit.( Factory speakers were 5 3/4" mounted to a plastic panel inside the front door.) The tweeters mounted nicely in the factory position and I was able to use the factory bracket to secure them into position. With the crossover attached to the tweeter it made install even that much easier. Of course with the wiring adapters that Crutchfeild provides that makes it even better.
Bottom line- If you want to replace your factory speakers without spending alot then these speakers are one option worth looking at.

Chris from Montclair, NJ on 7/5/2007

2002 Honda S2000
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These are great speakers for the price. The woofers have the same dimensions as OE speakers but have better, smoother sound quality and really sing with more than 35 watts per channel. The tweeters are another story, they sound a little harsh. I was initially disappointed that the set is made without a separate crossover. There is only a small resistor attached to the tweeter to filter out the low frequencies. The sound quality improved a great deal with I used a spare set of crossovers. The crossovers (external 12db) smoothed out the sound and toned down the harshness of the tweeters (used the -3 db setting). With a nice crossover, this component set compares to much more expensive components. With just the stock resistor, sound is moderately good. That's why I say they are good for the price. If they came with external crossovers, they would probably sell for $50 more. Quality of the speaker and parts are quite good. My set was missing some small parts, but Crutchfield customer service replaced the parts. Good show! Good sound. This is a very good bargain for the price.

These speakers are just terrible. I installed them in my 2000 Cherokee and all I hear is buzzing whenever there's a little bit of bass. At first I thought it had to be something in my doors as aftermarket component speakers can't sound this bad can they? But sadly no, I took the speakers out and listened to them outside of the doors and they made the exact same buzz. Horrible.

As the saying goes "you get what you pay for" applies here. Highs seems acceptable, but I cannot get these to reproduce anything lower than midrange. I'm pushing them with a new Pioneer (22rms x 4)with HPF set at 63 Hz (tried 50 Hz as well). Thankfully the 12" sub makes up for the non-existent mid-bass or bass that these lack. The tweeter mounting options are good, but the quality of the removable twist on housing will not stay on due to the overly strong spring inside the housing - fully engaged it pops it right off. I have heard much better for less money in my other cars over the years - but live and learn I suppose.

If you have a Silverado or Sierra that has existing separate woofer and tweeter in the front door, you can use a dremel and cut out a 2" hole in the mounting plate that the existing tweeter uses and it looks great. Just be careful taking the existing tweeter out, because I broke 3 out of 4 screw posts unscrewing them from the door. Had to basically rivet them back into place. So far very happy with these - solid bass, nice highs. Definitely get 6.5" speaker baffles for these (part# 237XT65) - they sound much better with the baffles than without. Got the Kicker 05DS60 for the rear door, bought them for the price, but as it turns out they compliment these very well. Be aware that these do not come with a crossover - the tweeters plug straight onto the posts on the 6.5's. Very happy with these!

In all the forums I checked for opinions on Blaupunkt, people where always badmouthing them, but I noticed that none of those people have ever used them, so I checked reviews of people that actually had Blaupunkt products, and they where all really positive. The sound out of these speakers is clear and crisp with great low end. I would've gladly paid alot more for the same speakers.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought 2 of these to put in my 98 s-10 blazer. Wanted components but on a budget due to needing a whole system. got them installed hooked to a kenwood EZ-500 with sirius, when i fired them up I was pretty impressed .no amp and sub not installed but still sounded very good. Used the speaker baffles and without sounded much better with baffles. iIn my opinion excellent speaker for the money.

Features

Injected Polypropylene Cone Woofers: The Blaupunkt GT Series component speakers feature Injected Polypropylene cone woofers. The woofer cones are lightweight and mechanically rigid, allowing the speakers to play louder with less power than conventional paper cones. Injected Polypropylene cones are acoustically inert and do not add coloration to the original recording. Each woofer uses a foam surround.

Voice Coil Ventilation: The woofer baskets feature 12 holes which serve as additional voice coil ventilation. The extra ventilation helps keep the voice coil cool for higher power handling.

Mylar Tweeters: The GT series component speakers feature 1" Mylar semi-dome tweeters for clean, accurate highs. The tweeters feature a simple high-pass crossover (capacitor) mounted inside the tweeter frame.

Tweeter Mounting System: The supplied tweeter mounting system allows you to flush mount, surface mount, or angle surface mount the tweeters. The angle surface mount cups provides two possible mounting angles. The dimensions for the tweeters in each type of mount are:
