Blaupunkt's San Diego 530 DVD navigation receiver provides reliable guidance and lets you choose your favorite entertainment sources from the driver's seat. You can take advantage of convenient directions through the receiver's 6.2" display, which doubles as a portal to your audio and video favorites, hands-free calling, and audio streaming. On top of all these options, you'll have fantastic Blaupunkt sound to accompany your travels.

Explore your surroundings

Take the San Diego 530 around town or across the country with confidence. It'll provide directions across all 50 states, Canada, and Puerto Rico, and it offers millions of points of interest for when it's time to get off the road. You'll even hear actual street names announced at turns. Lane guidance ensures you'll be in the correct position for your next turn, and you can see realistic views of certain complicated intersections for easier navigation. Certain areas will be shown with 3D graphics for buildings, landmarks, elevated roads, and terrain so you can orient yourself more quickly.

The San Diego 530's powered by iGO primo navigation software, which has become an industry standard over the past few years because it's fast, accurate, and easy to use. You can also add an optional traffic-info receiver to get real-time updates on congestion along your route.

Bluetooth® calling and music streaming

The San Diego 530 offers Bluetooth connectivity, so you'll be able to make and take calls using your compatible phone through the stereo. You have a choice of the built-in mic on the front panel or an included external microphone, so your callers will hear you clearly, no matter what kind of vehicle you drive. Built-in A2DP technology allows you to stream music from your smartphone through this receiver.

Entertainment options

A composite A/V output lets you send movies or other video content to external video monitors, so you can keep the whole crew happy when you're on a road trip. A 10-band parametric equalizer lets you put a personal touch on your sound, and the full complement of preamp outputs includes a dedicated subwoofer out with low-pass filter and level control.

Your media, your way

You can plug your thumb drive filled with digital music into the front USB input, or jack a satellte radio tuner or other device into audio/video input. CDs or DVDs are covered too — including discs loaded with MP3 or WMA files. If you're not using the navigation features, you can load a microSD card with your top road tunes and access them through the receiver's front card slot as well. And a dedicated input on the rear panel accommodates an optional rear-view camera to let you get in and out of tight spaces more easily. Blaupunkt also includes a wireless remote control so your passengers can choose their favorite tunes from anywhere in the vehicle.

Want to keep your steering wheel controls?

In most cars, you'll need an adapter to retain those controls with a new car stereo. Check “Details” for more information, and the "Accessories" tab for the compatible adapter. If you're not sure if you need an adapter, call, chat, or email an Advisor for help determining what you'll need for your vehicle.

Bluetooth note: Use of this receiver's Bluetooth features will depend upon your phone's Bluetooth capabilities. Learn more in our article explaining Bluetooth profiles.

iPod/smartphone note: If you're going to use your iPod or smartphone with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for compatibility information.

    2014 Mazda MX5
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Perfect for my 2014 MX5. Sounds great, GPS is super accurate, DVDs look great. This was a great buy for me. This radio has options to control everything and program it how you want. I can switch between sources without adjusting volume because I can set each source to a different volume level (-6 to 6) so they all are at the same level. Favorite GPS adjustments. Show speed limits, speed limit warning ( I use 115%). Hands free mic. I mounted mine underneath the lip of the instrument dash above the temp gauge. The call quality is great. In the tests I've done so far no one notices a difference with the top up or down as long as the windows are rolled up. Only caviate is that at speeds of 75mph or more the quality degrades with the top down. Other note with the top down and at 75mph or more the GPS direction voice and speed limit warning are hard to hear. I probably just need to adjust the voice to male. I highly recommend this for mx5 owners. Fairly easy install except for two of the steering wheel control wires.

Pros: GPS, Bluetooth, dvd, hands free mic

Cons: Radio tuner the big negative.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

We put this in an Audi that previously had the Bose symphony stock system in it. This thing outperforms it hands down. I am planning on connecting a backup camera to it.

Pros: Sounds great. Everything works as stated. The service and delivery from Crutchfield was outstanding. I saved a boat load of money doing this myself.

Cons: The instructions could have been a little more detailed. Although I suppose that if I would have contacted customer service they could have helped.

    Great player

    Jack from Virginia on 3/11/2015

Professional install--issue with steering column controls in my 2009 Toyota, and I will have to take it back so installers can try a different wiring harness, but this is not critical to me, The player is very intuitive. I do think it would be nice for a passenger to be able to watch a DVD as I am not likely to sit in my car with the park brake on to watch movies.

    Pros: Intuitive.,The remote is handy.

    Cons: Can't think of any.

    2008 Chevrolet Colorado
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed this unit in a 2008 Chevy Colorado. Using Crutchfield provided adapter cables & mounting kit, the wiring and install was really straightforward - it probably took me about 2hrs to do a professional-level install (actual crimped connections, running the GPS receiver & microphone's properly and flat mounted to dash for a clean, factory, look). The unit has been installed for a couple weeks and it's way better than I expected. The sound is crisp and strong - love the EQ, the NAV is Incredible - by far the best I've ever seen. Accurate routes and the display is phenomenal - the pre-set landscapes are better than the flat Houston scenery...Need to remember to watch the actual road. I wanted the front USB and 8mm AV ports to hook in my smartphone but didn't realize that the Bluetooth feature lets you stream music wirelessly into this unit...I'm not really a gadget guy (still have a Blackberry) and had no idea it would be able to do it... My wife has a factory Nav installed in her VW (know for good stereos) and this thing kills it on all levels...I've finally got some bragging rights!

Pros: Great sound Incredible NAV Love streaming music over wireless Bluetooth

Cons: The only minor thing I can think of - it would be nice to be able to switch radio stations from the Nav screen, but it doesn't really matter...

    2004 Volkswagen Passat
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I put this head unit in a 2004 Passat GLS TDI. No cutting or modifications to the car was needed to make it fit. CD and FM audio quality is very good, the 10 band EQ and sub controls was the selling point for me between this unit and other models actually priced higher with less features. Running 2 sets of components, a 10 inch sub, and 2 amps with this unit, was really able to dial the music in with the EQ. My Passat is suffering from poor FM reception this unit seemed to make it a little worse even with all the proper adapters etc, still working that one out. Would love to get real-time traffic alerts going but no one earth seems to know what part I need or how that would work in the US. Seems as though that feature is only for Germany and other countries, not apparent US solution that I can find. I only gave this unit 4 stars because I was disappointed by the Bluetooth audio quality and functionality, works great for phone calls, but for music im not impressed. There are some other minor quirks see my list of cons. However this was a budget friendly solution for my dialer driver. Reading other peoples comments let me say, boot time is more then fast enough for me, GPS is super easy to use, GPS cable for more then long enough to route the antenna all the way to my sunroof. Only bad reviews I agree with are Bluetooth audio quality just being overall unsatisfactory.

Pros: Factory look, Screen looks nice. 10 Band Audio EQ and controls are really nice. FM and CD audio sound great. Boot time only a few seconds, navigation speed also good. Overall the navigation feature is really impressive, uses igo Primo, comes with 30 days of free updates from the day you first power and lock on. Plenty of outputs only 2V whish they were 4V still sounds good though. Plays DVD in motion with nothing more then a simple Ground to Chassis. Hands free phone quality and mic work great.

Cons: Only 1 Bluetooth device can be connected at a time, Bluetooth does not send any music or track information to display, only audio. Bluetooth music quality is subpar, FM seems much better, I am using a HTC One M8. I also get random .5 sec audio dropouts while playing music over Bluetooth, not sure if its head unit or phone, same issue with another phone. No auto dimming only manual, Clock is hard set to EURO date format. Single zone video only, cant find any TMC Traffic Receivers for it, or howto

System was easy to install, couldnt get the blue tooth to work. New unit was sent out and found the same effect blue tooth would not connect. I am in the process of rectifying problem with Crutchfield. I am going to try and ask for a new brand.

Cons: Blue tooth would not connect on 2 units

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Replaced my Kenwood GPS receiver with the San Diego 530 mainly because I wanted to have an audible speed warning. My Kenwood would always cut off the radio when giving navigation instructions, this unit does it but does not mute the radio so you can't use the navigation and the radio at the same time. The other problem is it does not display the speed limit unless you are on a main road. All county roads and small city roads are not displayed. Did not have that problem with the Kenwood. I intend to remove this San Diego 530 out and put back my Kenwood Garmin

Pros: Radio and video work fine except for above

    Cons: As above

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The unit worked well for 4 months, then the Navigation crashed. It would load about 50%, then said "application mobilenavigator.exe encountered a serious problem and need to shut down". Update firmware through blaupunkt webiste did not fix it. Website is extremely hard to use. I thought German engineering was good but I was wrong.

Pros: Does things well enough when it works.

Cons: Horrible website. Could not update map free as promissed. Low reliability. Blaupunkt does not have a present in the US. Warranty services are done through thrid party.

    2007 Hummer H3
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installation is relatively straight-forward. I also took awhile before realizing that both metal frames needed to come off before installing. I was also confused by a couple of the wire labels. I think P.CNT was one of them. Another was the power antenna wire. I love the navigation. Oddly, it loads from the MicroSD card every time when powered up. So you can't put music on the SD card AND use navigation. Bluetooth works well. Pairing was simple. I did have to adjust the default volume up. I also use the external microphone on my steering column. I wasn't bold enough to try and use the OnStar microphone. One odd thing, and really the only thing I don't like about the unit, is that it takes the radio 20-30 seconds before it works after turning the car on. My wife has even commented that it has startled her a few times when she didn't realize it was on at first. The backup camera works right away though.

Pros: Good value, excellent navigation, lots of features, fairly easy to install

Cons: 20-30 second delay before the radio starts working.

    Pretty Good for the Money

JoeM from Stafford, VA on 9/2/2014

For the money this is a good unit. It looks sharp/clean as it doesn't have a ton of useless buttons. The sound is decent when paired with a speaker upgrade (in my case I purchased some Kickers), however it does have a couple drawbacks.

Pros: Clean look and sound. Low price. GPS works great and is a nice change from Garmin. If you want something for CDs/MP3s and GPS without breaking the bank it's worth a shot.

Cons: No iPod integration and bluetooth audio sounds choppy, also no sat. radio functionality. Definitely not for audiophiles and iPod addicts.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Stay away from this company, stay far far away! I bought this product. The installation instructions were indecipherable, and I had to spend $120.00 to have it professionally installed. The unit worked for precisely two weeks. When I try to use the navigation, I get a "Fatal Error" message and the screen freezes. The traffic function never worked. Crutchfield is willing to exchange it for a new unit, but will not reimburse me the cost of the installation They will not assume full responsibility for their product and the harm they have caused me. Forewarned is forearmed. This company is no good; plain and simple no good. I only gave it one star because it's a required field. Really they deserve zero.

    Pros: None

    Cons: Crutchfield

Crutchfield response on 8/27/2014 Sounds like the customer received a defective receiver. Our Tech Support team advised him of our 60-day, money-back guarantee and offered a refund or to replace the unit with the same or another receiver all together. While it is not our normal procedure, after discussing the issue with Blaupunkt we are willing to reimburse the cost of custom installation on this receiver.

    Decent, but some quirks

Jeff M from Chicago, IL on 8/21/2014

    2006 Volkswagen Passat
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This isn't a terrible head unit, but it is certainly more of a lower end model and it feels that way. Switching to the navigation shows a loading screen for a long time while it loads from the card. It is also a pain to switch between functions if you don't have steering wheel controls because there is only a single physical knob. With the double-din face plate for a VW the flip cover for the front ports/card slot is somewhat blocked, but usable. The unit I received also didn't have a working disc player and would not allow CD's/DVD's to be used.

Pros: Easy to install, affordable, lots of features

Cons: Poorly implemented, my unit came broken, slow load times, switching between functions is a pain

    Cons: None

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am so upset, frustrated and disappointed that I am paying $100 to remove this receiver and send it back. I hit a truck backing up because the screen for the back up camera is so dim. Nav takes forever to load and often there is no audible directions. Locations are difficult to enter, maybe not if you live in Germany. The antenna for the GPS is sliding around on my dash as they didn't provide sufficient cable. Microphone had to be mounted next to the driver door for he same reason. My installer said he was not impressed with the quality since Blaupunkt filed bankruptcy a few years back. I have purchased a Kenwood to replace this piece of junk!

    Pros: Price

Cons: Everything else~ you get what you pay for in this case.

Very nice unit and a great addition to my truck! Everything is working well and I am enjoying the use of it. The GPS works very well and so does the connection with my cell phone with the Bluetooth interface. It was easy to get it connected.

Pros: The radio sounds great, the GPS works well, and the Bluetooth connection is great for using your cell phone with hands off interaction while driving.

Cons: It took a while to figure out that the metal case around the radio unit had to be removed. The woman's voice keeps telling me I am driving over the speed limit. Sounds pretty much just like my wife!

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great combination head unit, it is worth the money and more.good sound navigation and video. I really like the sound from it and the way you can tweak it to your liking. I use it mostly for music and was not really going to buy one with DVD and navigation as I don't use that much and was worried that I would be sacrificing sound quality which is what I was looking for. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a good sounding stereo. The ten band equalizer and sub control really put it over the top. The factory radio always sounded flat. right after I bought the truck I replaced the speakers with infinitys which helped some what as the truck came with a sub. This stereo really woke them up!

Pros: Easy to read display even in bright sunlight ease of setup and use. Great sound.

Cons: The only con I can think of is no time display when off

Good headunit that provides quality sound with good nav. It's bright and the Bluetooth is fast. Only downside is the remote didn't work but all aside it's not biggie cause your phone is a better remote. Installed myself after the dealership said it would be 170. Wasn't paying that and Crutchfield provided a new fascia.

Pros: Nav, Bluetooth, everything comes for you to assemble.

    Cons: Faulty remote

jff from lancaster, pa on 6/8/2014

Best unit for the money. Hands down. Interface is awesome, really easy to use. At first the mic "wasn't working right". Then I realized that the factory preset is to the internal mic, once I switched to external it has worked great!

Pros: Ease of use. Bright screen. Clear sound. Price! If you want hd radio, then go spend a few hundred dollars more lol

Cons: Even after calibration the touch screen is a little off, but after getting used to it it works fine. Sometimes the volume when using blue tooth goes in and out, not sure if it's my phone or the unit. Other than that no problems.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

2006 Mustang really profesional looking fit with the included kit. I use it for audio books bluetooth from my phone, connects to phone as soon as I get in. My first call startled me, the unit automatically muted the audiobook and I just pushed the phone icon and talked at the included mike I mounted on the steering column. really nice. I was dissapointed when I didn't see a speed limit on the gps but when I went over the the speed limit the volume was reduced and a voice came on saying the speed limit is 40 then a litle red speed limit sign popped up, the wife loves that feature it is her que to give me the "look." I was concerned that it didn't have HD radio but analog will be around a long time and the unit actually sounds good, it does have RDS which is nice. I have a preamp and the included harness had a blue and white wire labeled amp and the 530 had a blue and white labled ANT I suspected it would function the same but I could find no refrence even Googling it; have faith thats it. the included 5v converter for the amp works perfect. I searched the internet extensively and this was the best deal out there I am really impressed and still learning some of the features.

Pros: Fit is realy proffesional, touch screen and menus are nice, sounds really good and looks awsome includes a micro sd card with maps for the GPS.

Cons: No HD radio and a little confused with the different labels on the blue and white wire.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First off, let me say that overall, this is a FANTASTIC unit and i'm very pleased with it's performance and ease of use. Installation wasn't the easiest thing I've ever done since it was my first time- thankfully I had a helper. Love the nav feature, easier to use than my old garmin nuvi, Backup camera hooked right up, headrest monitors went right in, but order 3 rca splitters otherwise you can only wire up one monitor. radio sounds good, dvd movies play when parked, and all the time on the headrests. Wish it was 'dual-zone' so we could play tunes in the front, and movies in the back but oh well. Overall very pleased.

Pros: nav is intuitive. streams music from iphone av and usb input on front looks cool

Cons: Not dual-zone. dimmer controls difficult (when nav is active)

    2013 Subaru XV Crosstrek
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall, this is a Blaupunkt unit. The build and overall quality is excellent. The load time for navigation isn't bad (but you still have to wait, just like other stand alone in-dash units) and the resolution is very easy on the eyes. Touch sensitivity is just not right, not too sensitive and not too dull. Let me break this down into three categories: Tips: 1. Use the external microphone: the internal/built-in microphone is a good idea, but with road noise and with bigger cars, it's just not going to cut it. The external mic is so much better. 2: If you can, try your unit out before installation. This is just always a good idea.

Pros: Pros: 1. It's a Blaupunkt, so expect great build, and great quality. 2: Very intuitive interface (however, it seemed a little clumsy to save an address as a favorite), 3: Sound is superb even with its built-in amp. 4: Screen resolution is great, and 5: Navigation is very good, with good response times and a wide choice of spoken street names voices and other options.

Cons: Cons: 1. It's still a european radio... when phone calls come in, it displays numbers in an annoying european format (it doesn't break the phone number a la US style 123-456-7890, instead it lists it as 1234 567890 on the screen), thanks Blaupunkt. 2: It doesn't allow you to change the date format on the home screen, so once again you see an annoying DD-MM-YYYY european format. Someone out there is going to mistaken 3-4-2014 as March 4, 2014 on this radio

    Touchscreen Display

6.2" Touchscreen TFT Display: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 has an integrated 6.2" TFT widescreen display with touchscreen controls. The display provides a high-resolution video monitor for watching your DVD videos and viewing navigation maps. The screen has a resolution of 830 x 480 (RGB) and 1,152,000 total pixels. The unit's touchscreen panel features interactive controls making menu navigation easy. You can adjust the brightness level of the display screen.

Hard-Key Controls: In addition to the unit's LCD touchscreen controls, the San Diego 530 also features hard-key controls on the left edge of the screen (including a 3-way rotary audio control).

Start Up Time: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 has a start up time of approximately 50.1 seconds from off to the Map screen or 10.3 seconds from off to an AV source screen.

Parking Brake Detection: To prevent the displaying of video while the vehicle is in motion, the green/white wire in the supplied  harness must be connected to the vehicle's parking brake detection circuit. Your vehicle will need to be stopped and have the parking brake fully engaged to view video. While the vehicle is in motion (parking brake off), you can still view all of the other displays and menus.

2-DIN Chassis: The San Diego 530 has a 2-DIN chassis (also known as "Double-DIN"), and will fit in many vehicles with a large dash opening. The unit can be ISO-mounted using factory brackets, or Euro-mounted using the supplied mounting sleeve. As always, please consult Crutchfield's Outfit My Car to verify fit with your vehicle.

    Onboard Navigation

Navigation Mapping Software: The integrated map database (by TomTom) used by the Blaupunkt San Diego 530 was created using high-resolution aerial and land based data collection. Navigation data is stored on the unit's preloaded 8GB microSD-card for quick access and response. The San Diego 530 provides map coverage of the United States (all 50 states), Canada, and Puerto Rico. The Blaupunkt San Diego 530's integrated iGo Primo navigation software provides turn-by-turn visual and voice assistance to direct you to your selected destination. The built-in software quickly calculates step-by-step directions to any destination available on the included navigation map.

Note: Car navigation maps are frequently updated. While this database was judged to be as accurate as possible at the time of its release, a map database can never be 100% accurate. Road information that is maintained in the map databases, such as turn restrictions or road names may change over time.

Map Updates: It is easy to keep the navigation system up to date. Simply download new map data from, store the updated map data on a microSD card and insert it into the Blaupunkt San Diego 530 via the front-panel microSD card slot. To ensure that you have the latest version of the map data when you purchase the San Diego 530, you have 30 days from the first GPS positioning to download the latest version of the map data once and free of charge.

GPS (Global Position System): Blaupunkt's built-in navigation helps you find your way to your destination with an integrated GPS receiver & external GPS antenna. The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 features a built-in SiRFprima GPS receiver and includes an external magnetic GPS antenna. The New York 830 uses Global Position System (GPS) satellites, and a digital roadway map database to calculate and display vehicle positioning and travel direction. The San Diego 530 considers vehicle speed an heading changes, together with longitude and latitude information, to accurately determine vehicle heading and position on a digital map. Signal from GPS satellites are used to determine the vehicle location.

On-Screen Map: The unit's on-screen map shows your vehicle's current position (a dark blue arrow by default), the recommended route (a light blue line), the surrounding map area, and your destination as a checkered flag. The on-screen map shows streets, roads, and highways in a way that is similar to how a paper road map show them. A road's width and colors corresponds to their importance, so you can easily tell a freeway from a small street. When navigating a route, the top section of the map screen shows information about your next route maneuver and the next street or the next city/town. When approaching a turn, the map screen will zoom in and raise the view angle to let you easily recognize your maneuver at the next junction. If the next turn is at a distance, it will zoom out and lower the view angle to be flat so you can see the road in front of you. The map also displays data; such as distance to your destination, time left before you reach your destination, and your arrival time.

    • 2D/3D Map Mode: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 allows you to view its on-screen map in a 2D (two-dimensional) or 3D (three-dimensional) view. Similar to paper road maps, the 2D mode, shows you streets, roads, and elevation by color. In 3D mode, you can see the altitude and elevations differences. You can distinguish between valleys, mountains, and elevated roads. In selected cities 3D landmarks and 3D buildings are also displayed.
    • Color Mode: The navigation map screen uses different color themes (Day/Night) during the day and during the night for both the map and the menu screen. Daytime colors are similar to paper road maps, and the menus are bright. The nigh color themes use dark colors for large objects to keep the average brightness of the screen low. You can also set the navigation unit to switch between daytime and night color modes automatically based on the current time and GPS position.

Lane Information & Signposts: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530's navigation map offers helpful lane information & signpost guidance.

    • Lane Information: When navigation on multilane roads, it is important to take the appropriate lane in order to follow the recommended route. If lane information is available in the map data, the map screen will display the lanes and their directions using small arrows at the bottom of the map. High lighted arrows represent the lanes you need to take.
    • Signposts: Where additional information is available, signposts substitute arrows. Signposts are displayed at the top of the map. The color and style of the signposts are similar to the real ones you can see above the road or by the roadside, They show the available destinations and the number of the road the lane leads to.
    • Junction View: If you are approaching a freeway exit or a complex intersection and the needed information exists, the map is replaced with a 3D view of the junction. The lanes you need to take are displayed with arrows. Signposts can also be present, if information is available.

Audible Alerts: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 offers various audible alerts and functions to help you get to your destination safely.

    • Voice Guidance (Text-to-Speech): In addition to graphic directions, the San Diego 530 provides voice guidance and turn-by-turn directions. You can select from English, French, Spanish, Korean, Japanese, and Chinese audible languages. The volume of the voice prompts can be increased with increases in speed to overcome road noise. Voice guidance can be turned off if you prefer.
    • Safety Alert: This function can warn you when you approach road safety cameras, school zones, or railroad crossings (if available). You can also add your own alert points. Beeps or the spoken type of alert will be heard when you are approaching of these points.
    • Speed Limit Warning: Some maps may contain information about the speed limits of certain road segments. The San Diego 530 provides an audible warning if you exceed the recommended speed limit.

Historical Traffic: The San Diego 530 features TomTom's Historical Traffic database of more than 9 trillion anonymously-collected data points, providing analysis to predict driving behavior along your route. You'll be able to determine the fastest route and accurate ETA at different times of the day. You'll also be able to analyze traffic congestion, travel times, and delays at different times of the day along your route.

Note: This is not a real-time traffic information system. This is only a collection of historical traffic data that has happened in the past that will further help the navigation system to give you the best route and most accurate ETA possible.

Where Am I?: This screen contains information about the current position (or approximately the last known position if GPS reception is not available) and a button to search for POIs nearby.

Find Menu: The Find Menu gives you many different ways to choose your destination or insert a waypoint in your current route. An on-screen keyboard appears to allow you to enter your destination from one of the following categories:

    Destination SearchDescription
Find on MapSearch for a destination by scrolling the map display.
Find AddressEnter full/partial address, or Search for a city (central location), or Search for the intersection of two roads.
Find PlacesSearch for over 15,000,000 points-of-interest (POIs) near your current location, in a specific city, along your current route, or near your destination. You can search by name of place or by category.
FavoritesStore your favorite locations for easy recall.
HistoryDestinations that you have set previously
CoordinatesAllows you to search your destination by longitude and latitude values.

Route Calculation: The Blaupunkt San Diego 530 calculates your route based on Route Method and Avoidances.

    • Route Method: You can choose which route method (Fastest, Shortest, Green, Economical, or Easy) the navigation unit should use when calculating your route.
      • Fastest: give a quick route, if you can travel at or near the speed limit on all roads. Usually the best section for fast and normal cars
      • Shortest: gives a route that has the smallest total distance of all possible routes. It can be practical for slow vehicles
      • Green: gives a quick, but full efficient route based on the fuel consumption data you provide
      • Easy: results in a route with fewer turns and no difficult maneuvers
    • Avoidances: You can tell the navigation unit to avoid certain types of roads along your calculated route, such as - Highways, Tolls, Carpool/HOV, Unpaved Roads, and/or Ferries.

Quick Menu: The Quick menu is a selection of controls and functions that are frequently needed during navigation. It can be directly opened from the map screen.

Route Preview: The navigation head unit lets you preview your route's turn-by-turn instructions and simulate travel along that projected route.

Automatic Route Recalculation: The unit will automatically recalculate your route if you stray from the navigation unit's previously calculated route.

micro sd. comes with one laded w nav[ HUGH  Mar 31, 2015 ]
sorry, never used this feature[ JOSHUA  Mar 29, 2015 ]
It takes a micro-SD card, but it's for the navigation software. I'm pretty sure you can't put music on it as well. I would use a USB stick if trying to get media into the unit. The USB port is on the front of the unit--great if you want to plug it in every once in a while and change music frequently. A bit annoying if you just want to leave it in there and not think about it, because it's always sticking out there at you.[ David  Mar 29, 2015 ]
Micro SD it also is the SD card for GPS[ john  Mar 29, 2015 ]
relatively straight forward. It must be done from a Windows based machine with an SD card reader; painful for a MAC user like myself. You will also need a micro SD card adapter. After downloading a program from the website, I can't remember the URL, just follow the on-screen prompts. Good luck[ DAVID  Feb 19, 2015 ]
After you take the hidden SD card out of the unit and go to the navigation software's web site it takes about 35 yto 45 minutes for the site to update your SD navagation card. Note that you must take the included hidden SD card out of the unit, place it in a PC with web access, go to the navagation site and update the card. (I would do that before I install the unit, update the card and then put it back into the unit so that after it's installed you'll be ready to go.) PS - The hidden SD compartment is at the lower left corner underneith the open SD card slot. Hope this helps.[ MICHAEL  Feb 14, 2015 ]
You have to take the micro-sd card out of this and run their program to back up the card and update it. It gave me one free initial update, then it will cost you in the future for further updates. Only thing that made it difficult for me is that I'm a mac user, and the program is windows based.[ David  Feb 13, 2015 ]
I have the iPhone 5 and it does not display track info when played over bluetooth, so I assume it probably would not when using the iphone 6 either[ TIMOTHY  Dec 22, 2014 ]
Using an iPhone 5s there is no Pandora support. In fact there seems to be no special support for any of the streaming audio apps. All you get is a screen with Next/Previous/Play/Pause bluetooth generic controls. No track data. I think this is because they do not have an Apple Authentication chip. I work in telematics and our products offer Apple support, but that chip is expensive, like a dollar each. Most Germans don't support that kind of pay to play thinking, so it's no surprise that BP doesn't either. (I worked in Germany for 8 years in automotive). That said, do I REALLY need TWO touch screens controlling the App? No, I probably don't and I don't really miss it.[ Daniel  Dec 15, 2014 ]
I don't know. I have an iPhone 5 and have never used pandora with the car stereo. Sorry.[ DAVID  Dec 12, 2014 ]
I doubt it. I have an iPhone 5s and it does not display the Pandora track on it.[ ROBERT A  Dec 11, 2014 ]
I don't know... But I get no track info on BT with an iPhone 3GS[ HUGH  Dec 11, 2014 ]
Hi, I play Pandora with my iPhone 5 and its does not show the Pandora track infor on the screen. On the Blue tooth screen You can skip /Pause / go back .[ DAVID  Dec 11, 2014 ]
I don't think it does. It's a very simple head unit and I'm happy with it. I bought it just for navigation purpose. Nothing fancy with this unit.[ WILFREDO  Dec 11, 2014 ]
    Lee, it's compatible with IPhone 5 and 6's. I have a 5s, pandora plays through Bluetooth.[ Michael  Dec 11, 2014 ]
We have not received any answers from other customers on your question. I would recommend reaching out to an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They should be able to help answer your question.[ Krissy  Aug 27, 2014 ]  Staff
no it doesnt remove[ Paolo  Aug 26, 2014 ]
No, the face is mostly the screen and it does not detach[ Michael  Aug 25, 2014 ]
    No it doesn't[ Brian  Aug 23, 2014 ]
    yes[ Duc  Aug 23, 2014 ]
Mark, The unit does not have a removable face. The install is in a 2005 Pilot and my only issue is the trim bezel interferes with the cover/door on the USB and 3.5mm jack compartment.[ Kelly  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No it does not. It is fixed.[ Ahmed  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No, it does not.[ Kamal  Aug 22, 2014 ]
    No[ Ryan  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No it does not have a detachable face. The unit works very well and I am happy with it.[ David  Aug 22, 2014 ]
The face does not detach on this unit.[ Barry  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No.It has a wide touchscreen display, with very few buttons. When the car is off, ther eis noting that makes this attractive to a thief, and you cannot guess at the capabilities of this device from a blank black screen.[ Vincent  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No. It does not.[ Thach  Aug 22, 2014 ]
    No[ Josh allen  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No it does not...[ Eddie  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No it does not[ Olivier  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No it does not... another noteworthy thing about the unit is that the blue led backlight for the knob is annoyingly bright at night.[ Troy  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No it doesn't. Hopefully you saw my review. I have returned this unit for a Kenwood.[ Holly  Aug 22, 2014 ]
    No[ daniel  Aug 22, 2014 ]
It does not. I was worried about this a little bit as well, however, at least in my 2004 Accord, it is mounted pretty securely. There would be very little chance of it being removed from the car in any sort of hurried fashion, especially without a large amount of tools.Plus, most cars these days come preinstalled with some sort of large screen device, so I wasn't too worried.[ Ryan  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No the face is not detachable.[ michael  Aug 22, 2014 ]
The face does not detach.[ Jeff  Aug 22, 2014 ]
No it does not.[ timothy  Aug 22, 2014 ]
no, it does not[ Ben  Aug 22, 2014 ]
Nope. Nothing detaches, I'm afraid.[ David  Aug 22, 2014 ]
Not sure. We are having problems with the navigation system. According to the professional installer who installed our system, he thinks the iphone app did something to mess up the nav. So now I need to figure out how ti get it fixed. The bummer is, it happened about a month after we got it. Not to happy about it.[ rodney  Oct 24, 2014 ]
I use my samsung s4 mini bluetooth to listen to audio books and it works really nicely. I can answer phone calls through it and it pauses my books while I talk. It offers to let me hear incoming texts and reply voice with motospeak. which works nicely. I haven't really tried to get advanced phone controls on the display because I have a phone mount on the dash. Hope this helps Erick, [ STEPHEN  Aug 19, 2014 ]
Wish we could help. Only used iPhone with this radio. No issues with that, though.[ Scott  Aug 18, 2014 ]
sorry, I don't know; I'm an iPhone user. It does work well with iPhone though.[ DAVID  Aug 18, 2014 ]
compatible in what way? connected via bluetooth for voice? music? connected via usb? [ brent  Aug 18, 2014 ]
I have an iphone, but it's BT so it should work[ HUGH  Aug 18, 2014 ]
We've had it paired with several Android phones, no problems either with making calls or with streaming music.[ PETER  Aug 18, 2014 ]
If you're talking about the Bluetooth it connects okay. But that is after you update the San Diego 530 software, otherwise it's really hard to hear the other person you are talking too. And also the nav screen and voice prompt stops when you answer the phone through the bluetooth. Hope this answers your question. Ps. It's okay for a $429 head's simple to use.[ WILFREDO  Aug 18, 2014 ]
If you're talking about the Bluetooth it connects okay. But that is after you update the San Diego 530 software, otherwise it's really hard to hear the other person you are talking too. And also the nav screen and voice prompt stops when you answer the phone through the bluetooth. Hope this answers your question.[ WILFREDO  Aug 18, 2014 ]
Thanks jeff. Ill keep searching, nice unit though.[ Erick  Aug 13, 2014 ]
I'm not familiar with the units selling in Europe or India, but I can tell you that an interface is needed between the factory controls and the aftermarket unit. Those interfaces are not included with the receiver, but can be found on the accessories tab.[ Jeff  Aug 13, 2014 ]  Staff
You will want to contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat to discuss compatibility with your factory system. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and see if this will integrate. If it does not, then they will also be able to discuss other options with you.[ Krissy  Aug 08, 2014 ]  Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Unfortunately, when you replace the factory radio in your 2006 Honda Odyssey you will lose the factory Video Entertainment feature. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.[ Krissy  Jul 25, 2014 ]  Staff
    I am not sure[ Charles  Aug 02, 2014 ]
To the best of my knowledge, the traffic receivers available in the US are sold by Tomtom and Garmin (check on line for "RDS traffic receiver"). Whether either one of them is compatible with the Blaupunkt unit, I don't know, sorry.[ PETER  May 03, 2014 ]
The 530 has a traffic receiver. I haven't yet used it so don't know if it requires an additional component to make it work.[ HUGH  May 03, 2014 ]
This will depend largely on your vehicle. For details on installation please contact an Advisor by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. They will be able to pull up your vehicle and give you the details on what you will need for an installation.[ Greg  May 03, 2014 ]  Staff
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Sure is.
