Bluetooth® for hands-free calling and more

Blaupunkt's Toronto 410 BT sports a built-in Bluetooth module that supports hands-free calling with your compatible phone, plus the added feature of audio streaming that allows you to listen to music stored on your phone without the need for a cable. The Toronto's built-in microphone simplifies installation, and the receiver can store up to 1000 of your phonebook contacts, so dialing is quick and easy.

USB and SD card slots

You'll find both a USB port and an SD™ card slot for plugging in storage devices, and the USB input also serves as an input for your iPod® or iPhone® — just plug in and take control of your playlists from the receiver's controls. And if you've got other audio devices, like a satellite radio tuner, you can plug it into the front-panel auxiliary input.

Sound controls and system expansion

The Toronto's built-in amp delivers power far beyond that of a factory radio, while a 3-band parametric equalizer lets you select specific frequencies to boost or cut. The two pairs of preamp outputs come in handy when you're adding external amps.

Note: We made a special purchase on this Blaupunkt receiver, and it's a great deal. Keep in mind that you'll have to activate the AM tuner and reset the FM tuner for American stations — the process is explained in the manual. Also, this receiver does not come with a warranty, but it is covered by our 60-day satisfaction guarantee.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced a Blaupunkt Santa Fe which was 10 years old and had served me well with the exception that the display was too dim. Modernizing to the Toronto 410 BT got me oh so much more! Bluetooth connectivity to my phone for calls, voice dialing and streaming was the primary reason for the upgrade. I also got an AUX input, a USB connector, the SD card slot which I will eventually use, a remote etc. All for this price - everyone I tell is shocked! The installation was made easier in that the Blaupunkt connectors for speaker and power etc have remained standardized. The hardest part was getting the old one out out with bent hanger wire - the new one has a less fiddly security system. Adjust ing the Tuner for USA use was quick - you get more than 2 stations if you do that. But I wouldn't be getting this good deal if it hadn't been a problem for ya'll!

Pros: All sorts of up to date features - see above Price

Cons: Menu system defies my logic - it would help to have a chart showing how the menus are arranged.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like the classic look of the Blaupunkt Toronto 410 BT and it sounds so much better than the stock radio in my 1996 Miata. I primarily bought this radio for its visual appeal and because it had great features including the built-in bluetooth. I would recommend buying an external microphone, which I have done. People had a hard time hearing me during bluetooth conversations before i installed the external microphone. Overall, I am satisfied with this radio and would highly recommend it.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This Blaupunkt Toronto 410 BT was purchased as a replacement for the OEM in a my 1992 500SL. I hesitated to replacement the original with an after market radio, but it ended up being a very good choice and I have no regrets. The new radio has much more to offer and more capabilities than the old stock radio - not to mention the ability to use my iphone with it. I received all necessary cables and connectors at no extra charge. One additional purchase item that was recommended was a PAC device that enabled the original powered speakers to function properly with the new radio. I was unsure how this device interfaced with the set up, so I email the support team. I got a reply within hours - with very detailed instructions as to how it configured into the system... which was very easy. I will purchase from Crutchfield again for my 2 other vehicles.

Pros: A very good product at a great price - and the plus is easily available support for any questions or concerns.

    Cons: None

Bought this as a Christmas gift for my son's 1990 Saab. Now he's got bluetooth connectivity to his phone, can stream audio, etc. - he loves it.

Pros: Sound quality is excellent, installation and setup were easy, looks great, no trouble setting it up for US use, great value, menus are intuitive, sound quality with phone calls is great (unit is high on the dash in a Saab, so the built-in mic is perhaps at a more optimal level)

    Cons: None s far.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I looked for quite awhile for a head unit that would work with an android phone with blue tooth that I thought would look good in my car and found this unit and after installing the unit found that I could only find one or two radio stations in any one area and even then the unit would go beap and then go silent which I found really very annowing which lead me to return the unit. I found searching for a radio station difficult as well since you have to use the same button to go through the stations as you do to use the seek function you just have to hold it till it seeks which was very cumbersome. I didn't keep it long enough to try out the blue tooth and there fore have no comments to make on that.

Pros: Sound quality was good and I really liked the kind of understated look on the face plate.

Cons: The Radio Sucks and it beeps alot

I'm blown away by the Blaupunkt. Replaced the OEM radio in my 2000 C230. I could never find a stereo that looked right in the mercedes, but this looks like it belongs in the car. It sounds great -- all of the inputs are easy to use and set up -- and frankly, I'm amazed at the bluetooth technology allowing my to stream from my phone AND use it to make calls. top notch german engineering here.

    Great head unit

Anonymous from Palm Springs, CA on 12/8/2012

I have purchased Blaupunkt radios for every car I have owned since 1985 and have loved all of them, this one is no exception. The Bluetooth connectivity works well and the sound quality is great.

Pros: Bluetooth works great and is easy to set-up. Build quality and sound quality are awesome. Also, this radio can pick up stations that my factory receiver couldn't.

Cons: The radio has to be programmed in order to be used in Canada, the US and Mexico (comes with Euro FM settings). As others have said, the menu/features navigation is not intuitive if you are not used to Blaupunkt products.

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield service was prompt and excellent. Unfortunately, the Blaupunkt Toronto was defective. The CD player would accept CD's only half the time. I purchased an open box item and was surprised that the packaging appeared to be new. When I went to play a CD, I discovered that there was a music CD already in the player.

Pros: Had it worked it would have been well worth the money. Bluetooth/phone setup worked like a charm first time. Sound quality was good.

Cons: It was really difficult working through the setup procedures. However, the users manuals covered everything.

    Decent Unit

    2003 Jeep Wrangler
    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this unit for a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon. The sole reason for purchasing this head unit was the appearance. I was looking for something simple and straight forward, much like most factory stereos, not something for a vehicle running grounding lights. As far as the appearance is concerned I am most happy with the purchase. It has all of the modern inputs supporting 3.5 mm and USB and it also supports Bluetooth. The Bluetooth function reduces the volume of the music being played as if you turned the head unit down 5 spots. I don't know if this is something that can be increased in the options area of the unit, I know that there are adjustable sensitivities for the hard wired sources. That brings me to the next issue. There are four directional keys used to adjust everything from Bluetooth conectivity to audio levels. The up and down arrows run through the menus and the left and right arrows select the topics. Once you have selected a topic there is little to no confirmation. It takes a lot of exposure and practice to feel confident in navigating the menu. I guess my biggest complaint isn't wit the product itself but with the sales advisor. He was very friendly and nothing short of professional. He sold me bass blockers for my speakers since I am running the factory sub. These weren't even needed since the head unit has a built in EQ that allows you to adjust the sensitivity of specific frequencies. It would have been nice to save a little extra money.

Pros: Appearance Value Sound Quality is good and it feels heavy and sturdy

Cons: Ease of use, pretty significant Volume is a little iffy. It may be plenty of power for the casual listener but with the top down I have to turn it all the way up for Metal Music/Dubstep

    Good bang for the buck

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have had Blaupunkt products throughout the years and have always liked them. They are certainly NOT the most intuitive product to use if you are not familiar with the line though. The Toronto 410BT is a feature packed head unit offering great sound quality from all its sources. Having been in the car audio business in the past I have had a chance to use many brands. Often a head unit will have a great CD quality and a terrible tuner, or vice versa. The 410 has great quality from all sources... SD, CD, Aux and even the BT stream. Heck, even the radio has great reception and sound quality. I can't say the same for the quality of the phone calls. While the audio is fine in the car, the caller on the other end will complain about noise, muffled voice, or echo, I am connecting with a HTC Sensation on the Tmobile network. I do not have the wired mic installed though and am thinking about adding a clarion noise canceling mic to the system and am pretty sure that would solve that problem. Connection through BT has not been an issue at all and seems to connect without any input on my end. I do not use the phonebook feature as most of my contacts are on the my memory card and it will only pull contacts from the phone - also on the negative side, it will not alphabetize the contacts.. I have the 410BT installed in a Mercedes 300 - the deck slides perfectly in, requiring no other mounting plates. Crutchfield supplied all required wiring bits making the install a 10 min job!

Pros: Many sources, great sound quality on all, great fit and finish, trusted name (not so recognized in the US), built in phone connection, not as gimmicky as some of the Japanese models, remote control

Cons: Complicated if not use to Blaupunkts icons, no easy way to access commonly used features in the menus, display can wash out in bright sun,

    not bad for the price

    Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I wanted to love this product but I can't. First the user navigation is absolutely terrible -- the number of menus you have to get through the settings is ridiculous. Second the sound pick up from the mic for Bluetooth made it very hard for anyone to hear you. Since one of the main reasons I ordered this item was for the handsfree calling capability this was unacceptable. The build quality is good and the styling is simple HOWEVER they changed their bezel from flat black to a glossy black. The flat black was one of the major draws to always fit well with stock dashboards, this one does not. So..unfortunately I need to send this back

Pros: Simple styling, good sound quality (audio)

Cons: Terrible sound pickup (phone), user navigation is absolutely horrible

      • Redial: You can simply redial the last number dialed with a press of a single button on the in-dash head unit.
      • Voice Dial: You can make a call using the voice tags stored on your connected cellular phone (if applicable).

The Toronto 410BT also supports audio streaming of music apps from your smartphone, but without control or metadata. You will continue to use your Bluetooth enabled smartphone to view & control streaming music apps. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

USB portable audio players that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port (max. 0.5A), and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.
