I've owned these subs for well over 5 years now and they are clear, precise and they pound. It's too bad they are disco'd because I'd love to get my hands on more of them. This is my current setup - http://sparky3489.webs.com/vumeterproject.htm

Good for money and unique model

RicardoFr from Portugal on 6/15/2013

I'm a happy owner of a pair of this subwoofer's They work really good, and they offers a nice sound. I'm not using in car audio application, but as home stereo system (2 way speakers,) but as I said, the sound is very good and loud. I also like the transparent basket and cone, this make them a unique and different model of speakers, I think blaupunkt should make this subwoofer again.

Pros: Transparent cone and basket, good value for price.

Cons:

STILL pounding!!!!!

If you want a speaker that will have good deep bass and that is it then go ahead and buy this speaker. If you want a speaker that is going to sound good and produce distinct bass notes than spend some more money and get a better speaker. This is the worst sounding speaker I have ever heard. I have owned several stereo systems and these are by far the worst subs as far as sound quality I have ever heard.

I bought two but only have one connected to my Performance Teknique 400w Amp and the bass booms like crazy. Had problems in the begining but it was from the amp. sounds great. right in my budget. i wont be using the other one until i get a new car. Get this sub. You'll never regret it

Plays better than it's worth.

Dee from Charleston, SC on 8/8/2005

These subs play a whole lot better than what I paid for them. I got two 12"s hooked up to an AudioBahn A4004T(200w per CH bridged @ 4 ohms) and my boys think that I got some top end $400 dollar subs. With the right amp, you might be able to run with the big guns. People can hear me in my 99 regal from about 4 blocks away, THUMPIN!!!!!!

Great bang for the price

I'm by no means into competition with my car stereo so these subs really kick for my purpose. I needed more trunk space than my 15" Vega's allowed so I paired these Blaupunkt 12's with a Q-logic QLH-.8512DE dual 12" trunk/hatchback box. I have a 1997 Grand Prix and can finally use the trunk for other purposes.

This combination has left me very pleased with my purchase. Although I've only had it hooked up for three days now, it has not let me down one bit. When I crank it up, it still rattles as if I hadn't changed a thing. I've got an eight year old EX2 450 watt amp hooked up to them.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

i have 2 of these 12" subs in a sealed q logic box also bought from crutchfield and a profile ap1000m amp that puts out 500rms watts at 2 ohms.... witch is to much power for these subs they say can handle 200 rms and im putting 250 rms and when the amp is at full power "250 watts per speaker" the subs are very distorted , they are great if i turn the gain on the amp down to about have so they are great subs if you have the right amout of power going to them they sound great. so overall i give them a 8 out of 10 just because they distort even with the right wattage

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought a pair of these for 75 including shipping. I built a box with 2 chambers at 2 cubic feet each, with 2 inch diameter by 3 3/4 inch long ports. The sound quality is great, and they really thump even in my friend's pickup truck with a crummy no-name (rampage?) amp. Just set them up right and this is really quite an amazing bargain. Gonna buy some more for myself. Very highly recommended.

KICK *** speakers

stereo freak from mansfield ohio on 5/7/2005

I recently purchased 2 of these subwoofers. I am only running a MTX 282 THUNDER amp, which is 280 watts bridged. I have these in a ported box, you can turn up the volume up half way and they rattle my rearview mirror. I can be heard from 400 feet away!!!! These subs are defentally worth $70.00. GREAT BUY!!!!

I have owned a pair of these for over a year. They are durable, powerful, and rich sounding. I'm considering a purchase of two more for an isobaric enclosure.

Enclosure Compatibility

Features

Transparent Polymer Cone (TPC): The injected transparent polymer cone is lightweight and mechanically rigid, allowing the speaker to play louder with less power. Acoustically inert, the cone does not "color" the sound of the music, giving you accurate musical reproduction. The woofer uses a foam surround.

Transparent Polycarbonate Basket: The transparent polycarbonate basket is acoustically inert, so that sonic output is free of unwanted resonances. Since the magnet is encapsulated by the polycarbonate basket, the speaker is inherently water-resistant, allowing you to use it in outdoor and marine applications.

Extended Pole Piece: The pole piece has been extended to provide a more linear magnetic field for woofer operation. This lowers distortion and provides the woofer with better low frequency response.
