Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)
amazing device, does everything I needed and more. Got at scratch&dent discount but haven't found either.
Item # 033AVX1300 | MFR # AVR-X1300W

If it's been a while since you upgraded your home theater receiver, we think you'll like what the Denon AVR-X1300W IN-Command receiver has to offer. It's got full support for 4K and HDR technology — perfect if you've already invested in an Ultra HD TV and Blu-ray player — plus it decodes Dolby Atmos and DTS:X (DTS:X decoding available via future firmware update) so you can enjoy the most immersive surround sound to date. It also includes some useful options for easy integration into a home automation system.
Getting all your gear connected is a breeze thanks to Denon's Setup Assistant and Audyssey speaker calibration system. And the free Denon 2016 AVR Remote app gives you easy control of your home theater from a compatible mobile device.
The AVR-X1300W's Wi-Fi lets you access your own digital music library through your home network, and Bluetooth lets you stream anything you like from your phone or tablet. Tune into Internet radio stations from around the world with vTuner, or play custom content with Pandora®, Spotify® Connect, or SiriusXM. This powerful receiver even offers convenient playback of several different high-resolution audio formats through the front-panel USB port or a networked computer. Denon's Compressed Audio Restorer boosts the sound quality of MP3s and other digital music files, so you get the best sound from any music source you choose.
Due to changes implemented by Pandora, this receiver is temporarily unable to connect to the Pandora service. A firmware update to resolve this issue is currently available.
The AVR-X1300W has outputs for seven speakers, so you can enjoy a 5.2-channel home theater setup in your living room and reassign the rear surround channels to power a pair of speakers in a separate room. Relax to your favorite tunes on the patio while the rest of the family takes in a movie with surround sound in the living room.
amazing device, does everything I needed and more. Got at scratch&dent discount but haven't found either.

amazing device, does everything I needed and more. Got at scratch&dent discount but haven't found either.
Excellent for our purposes. We are casual listeners to Audio and use 5:1 surround sound for that and TV audio. Mostly easy set up. Very very useful assistance from Crutchfield techs in areas where i was too dense to know anything. Still a little buggy in the set up. Replaced a more expensive (but broken Onkyo), this gives richer sound.
I swore I would not buy another Denon (had an 1907 in place when I bought this) but price and features brought me around again. I have had no issue with the 1907, it appears to be bullet proof, it was just a pain to set up. I am happy to report that the 1300 was much more easy to set up. Since you can do it through an app or log in from your network it did make things easier this time but even without that the standard setup was great. Does it meet all my expectations? Yes. It sounds great and has more than enough power for my needs. It is connected to a Sony flat screen and they get along ok. The remote on this unit is much less complicated than the dual sided 1907 unit too so that was a bonus.
This amp was purchased to provide sound for our living room. It was very easy to set up, in our case, as a straight stereo plus a 2nd zone on our patio. The only oddity is that the volume is not linear and comes in very gradually.
Pros: Ease of set up Very flexible in application
Cons: Volume control is not linear.
Even though this was an open box item, it is just what I wanted. The set up was easy and did not take long at all. The system works perfectly with all my other equipment. Shuts off when I shut the tv off, and comes on when the tv is turn on. The sound is fantastic. I can not understand why some people have trouble. Thank you so much Crutchfield, you hit another one out of the park.
Pros: Just as the doctor ordered, as the saying goes. This unit is the best I have had.
Working great but the setup was not as intuitive as it should be. Had to call for help three time and so the speaker setup over each time.
This is an excellent receiver for use in a smaller home like mine. The sound quality is phenomenal and even my tech averse spouse can easily run it. The sound setup step is important especially in a small space where sound can sometimes do funky things. It is classified as an entry level system, but it fits all my familly's needs perfectly.
Pros: Easy to set up Easy to use Great sound
Cons: Wish the remote was a multipurpose/programmable remote
System works well and setup was quick.
This was an tech upgrade from a 10 year old Panasonic 6.1 receiver that had no HDMI capability. The old receiver did have 2 zones, so that was a must with a replacement (the Panasonic also had PHONO input - none here). The network connectivity, and the blue tooth connectivity both enhance usability - we can play XM right on the AVR or use blue tooth to play music files off a device. The supplied Denon (Audyssey) microphone and cardboard tower made calibrating the room easy and it did a pretty good job (my Center speaker was a little muted after and needed + adjustment) - but the room sounds great with ample power to the speakers. Also setup was easy with onscreen step-by-step instructions. All in all I am very pleased with this Denon receiver. Of all the things it does, it sounds great and that's what matters in the end.
Pros: Ample HDMI connections, easy set up, great power to all channels and sounds great! The supplied Denon Audyssey microphone & stand assists in room calibration and did a decent job.
Cons: No phono capability but that's a nit! A small pre-amp solved that.
great price for a great product! Easy to set up and is not too complicated. Sounds great with my Polk surround speakers. I bought it because I needed 4K HDMI.
Pros: Small size fits in my cabinet perfectly with all the HDMI cables plugged in the back.
Best deal for the money! Lots of functionality, great brand prices reasonably.
Very pleased with the quality and value of the system. Set-up was easy, and was listening in no time. Great features and sound from this unit. Just love it
The Denon AVR-X1300W is awesome!I bought this to replace a Pioneer receiver that shot craps after 2 years. The Denon has more inputs than the Pioneer and all the same features and more for less than half the cost of the Pioneer. The Denon sounds better and is easier to use. The set up was fast and easy. I highly recommend the Denon AVR-X1300W!
Pros: Easy to set up. Price. Great sound.
Cons: None yet.
Good, network capable receiver. Features are quite good for the price. Lots of inputs and love the zone 2 capability. Works great for the kids watching something indoors, while my wife and I entertain out on the deck with our choice of music.
Pros: Inputs, network capable, zone 2, ipod, usb, etc.
Cons: Full manual has to be downloaded rather than in the box.
Great receiver especially at the price
Easy set-up. My 3rd Denon. Works great as our den home theater receiver.
As not much of a electronic-type person but I plodded through the initial directions of set-up. Thanks to a son-in-law who works for an electronic outfit, NOW all appear to be working....except I'm hoping to find out from Crutchfield how to individually balance EACH of my 7 speakers , as I was able to do with my previous sound system... (however it went 'bad'...). I would like to determine each one by my own 'ear' rather than have the 'tower' and mike set-up. I'm noticing, too, that the balance between loud sounds and low to 'regular' sounds isn't there: I must quick go to volume to avoid , sometmes, ear-shattering audio. On the positive side I am hearing 'side sounds' (from surround speakers) I didn't hear before. Again, I'd like to adjust the volumes , individually.
Cons:Crutchfield response on 1/9/2018 Once we saw this review, our Tech Support expert, Cris, reached out to Patrick to help him with his speaker setup. Lifetime tech support comes with every Crutchfield purchase.
I am very pleased with the ease of set up and the quality sound from the Denon AVR-X1300W. I purchased this receiver to replace an older ONKYO TX-SR706. For the money, this receiver offered the features that I needed and more. There are more expensive receivers to be had if money is no option, but if you have a good quality set of speakers this receiver will do the job. Plenty of volume and great base comes through just fine. I would buy this model again.
Pros: Ease of set up, quality sound, good variety of sound selections, all the base you will need, auto shut-off
Cons: None so far
Very pleased with the quality and value of the system. Set-up was straight forward, and was listening in no time. Great features and sound from this unit.
This AVR works really well and was a breeze to set up.
Needed a multiple speaker receiver for stereo and tuner for barn entertainment large area. Wanted radio, mp3, cd compatible with Bluetooth capabilities. Fit bill perfectly. Crutchfield advisors were awesome and knowledgeable. Most helpful with info on products to aid in decision. This was my best choice. Very satisfied.
Pros: Value , power, price point, features, looks good, easy to use, remote is good. Simple connections.
Out of the box installation relatively easy. Appreciate the multiple functions it offers. Thus far performance is as expected for lower powered unit, but will say it took the addition of a powered sub woofer to enhance the listening experience. It synced well with a Samsung smart TV.
What a buy! Plenty of connectivity. When I needed help, Adam was great. Thanks
Nice features and at the final sales pricing, it was a good buy, but.... The remote is pathetic and is non-programmable. Denon support was not helpful, but Crutchfield was after the sale. I did call before the sale and talked to an advisor and got bad advice about the unit. I'll give him a break and say I guess we did not communicate effectively because I would not have bought the unit if I knew how poorly it would integrate into my other components.
Pros: Inputs and outputs, simplicity of design, surround sound quality, price (closeout)
Cons: Remote is non-programmable
Great price for a great sounding receiver. The auto tuning feature worked better than I expected
Pros: Great sound, easy set up
Love this reciever
Wow! This replaced my 13 year old Yamaha 5.1 receiver. What a difference in clarity and performance. I can hear more detail and the addition of 2 speakers with 7.1 and a zone 2.. this was an amazing upgrade Very easy to setup. I love how the receiver controls everything. My dogs loved the mic test and sound setup. I was able to get a half price sale, so hat made it even better.
Pros: Sound Clarity Easy Setup Control with Phone is great
This product has lots of extra features including a WiFi extender. Easy hook up and use.
Pros: Easy to hook up, lots of extra features, and easy to use.
Awesome A/V amp , I previously had a Onkyo TX SVR717PRO amp 5.1 which was 10+ yrs old an showing signs of age an rear surround channel going in an out. This new Denon AVR-1300w 7.2 amp blows it away. Easy to set up, the sound is great, very user friendly product. I would recommend this Amp.
Pros: Easy to set up, crystal clear sound, plenty of power for a 26' X24' room.
Cons: none yet
Great sound !
Pros: Great features
I love my new Denon. This unit replaced a 10 year old Onkyo, which gave me years of wonderful service. I kept my entire setup, including my old Onkyo speakers, as I plan on replacing them in the future. The sound difference was noticeable right off the back. Setup was relatively easy. I will offer one suggestion, if you have any issues with BT or WiFi. If you have any issues, unplug your receiver and plug it back in. This happened when I failed to connect via BT. Now I connect my phone and play streaming Music or any other sounds from my phone with no problems at all.
Pros: Great sound Easy setup Price
Great unit at a great price. Crutchfield comes through again. I have been a customer for over 10 years. Very knowledgeable advisors and support. Denon is a great upgrade from my old unit. Sounds great.
Pros: Easy to set up, sounds great
Cons: Non so far.
Very good quality
perfectly clear sound.surprised . perfect for my office and a backup for the denon avr890 definitely worth the money I paid for it and it comes with crutchfield service for free.been doing business with you guys for years. never a problem denon is a good product if you never owned one.now I have 2
Great product. Sufficient power for now and the features are very handy.
Replaces an older Denon system which has performed well for years. Thi s new system essentially eliminates need for a smart tv with connectivity to audio and video streaming apps and bluetooth technology to connect with apps on other devices. Also eliminates need for Sonos system
Pros: Able to connect with other devices and streaming services
This is my first surround sound A/V receiver. The Crutchfield rep helped me pick out speakers since I was on a budget and suggested scratch and dent definitive 800s to match my definitive 1000 center and suggested Polk TL2 for my surrounds. The sound is crisp and clear and the definitive 1000 center is great. You never miss a word of the dialogue. Ran the audyssey setup but did much better setting the speaker levels manually. I set the surrounds at 25 feet and they came alive. I couldn't even hear them with audyssey setup. I only rated a 4 because of the audyssey speaker setup
Pros: Crisp clean sound
Cons: Automatic speaker calibration
Quality sound reproduction. Very pleased
I have a Denon receiver that is 6 years old that I always loved but this one is the best ever. The sounds are crisp and it was easy to hook up.
Pros: It was so easy to hook up and sounds unbelieveable
Cons: NONE so far
This was a very nice upgrade from my nearly 20 year unit that I replaced. Full of all the necessary technology for today.
Pros: Packed with all the current technology features. I was impressed with how light it was compared to the unit I replaced.
I bought the 1300W receiver to upgrade from a 6 year old Sony from Crutchfield that worked OK in 5.1. The 1300W is much better in sound definition and features. The sound is much crisper and balanced with better surround. Easy setup. The Audyssey speaker calibration takes about 15 minutes are really tuned in the system to my speakers. Plus you can easily adjust setting and EQ to your own ear and room. The Zone 2 is better than I expected. You can control the volume and inputs separate from the main Zone. I used a hard wired network setup so I'm not sure how wireless works. I was streaming iTunes with Apple Play immediately. Not setup needed. The iPhone app works great for controlling volume and input for each Zone. If the remote could control the TV I'd give this 6 stars. Extremely please with the 1300W and Crutchfield as always.
Pros: Great sound. Easy setup. Audyssey speaker tuning. Zone 2 a big plus. Excellent Apple Play streaming. Easy to fine tune EQ
Cons: The remote can't turn the TV on/off.
My first receiver purchase in decades and the technology has changed a bit. I'm very happy with this well priced Denon. Drives my Polk S50's without a problem.
has everything I expected and does it all well, once you have it set up. Superb, competent and patient help from prompt telephone service from Crutchfield personnel made it all work. Setup is not easy without help. And the online manual is not easy to follow. I'm still struggling with some of it. (And I'm an engineering prof). Nevertheless, I highly recommend the receiver and am completely satisfied with the price and Crutchfield service and delivery.
Pros: Sound, size, price, features
Cons: Setup, complicated functions, unclear manual. Maybe they are all like this!
Works great, except spotify connect. Does not consistently pair with devices, often not even appearing on the available devices list. Have had to reset the receiver to get it to work. Also spotty on Wi-Fi connecrions.
Pros: Sound good in my room, lots of features.
Cons: Wi-Fi and Spotify not consistent.
This Denon was perfect for my needs. It goes in a vacation home with a small speaker system (with subwoofer) and replaces an Insignia (made by Onkyo) AVR. I needed 4K passsthru to run to my LG 4K TV, and this unit provides 6 compatible HDMI inputs. Easy set-up. Works great. Couldn't be happier. Fast delivery too.
I replaced an older Onkyo receiver because SiriusXM no longer worked on it. This was very easy to setup and sounds great. I especially like the level of detail available when setting up the Harmony Remote to control. I can program one button to get to Pandora, another for SiriusXM, etc. With the Onkyo I could only get to Internet Music.
Receiver is very responsive and sounds great. The pass through works perfect
Easy setup and sounds great. We may have to purchase a subwoofer to get the bass we prefer
Great receiver! Was easy to set up and configure.
Pros: Easy setup.
Easy to set up and has a clear sound with my existing speakers. I really enjoy the app for my iPhone.
Pros: Sound, ease of setup with the existing system.
Cons: None as of yet.
I purchased this receiver to replace an old Yamaha receiver. It was easy to set up and the online manual covered all of the questions I had. Klipsch and Infinity speakers were reconnected. It sounds great and is a huge improvement over what I had. The remote is easy to use as well. For the money, I'm glad I made the purchase. I like the fact that it has the pass-through feature which allows the TV speakers to work without the surround sound during those times when I don't need them. My old Yamaha did not have this.
Pros: Easy to set-up Sounds great Excellent value for the money
Cons: None that I've discovered so far
Set up was pretty easy. Had to figure a few things out via the manual and on-line, however, straight forward and simple. Great unit. Hooked right in to my Apple/Spotify - easy. Sounds great throughout the house. Definitely recommend.
Settings for sound and subwoofer are complicated to get right the first time. I'm still having problems with the subwoofer working well with all the sounds. So, for now, I'm mostly using the DTS:X setting. I don't think there is anything wrong with the receiver. I think it's the settings. So, I'll hang on for a while.
Excellent unit works well, easy to set up, and integrates with my existing system.
Replaced a 11 year old receiver with this Denon to complement my new Samsung 4K TV and quite pleased with it. No issues in playing the sound from the TV through the ARC output.
Very good all around home receiver. Excellent price, delivers good sound to my speakers. I had one issue to resolve and Technical Support was spot on excellent. Glad I found Crutchfield to purchase from.
Pros: All good here
Cons: No phono input
Plenty of power and options for my home theater set-up. Sound is great paired with my Klipsch Reference speakers. The iPhone integration is awesome and works better than with some other devices I have used with it. The set-up and setting menu is a little out-dated and clunky or I would have given 5 stars but don't let it be a deal breaker, set-up only takes about 15 minutes and then you don't have to see it anymore.
Pros: Nicely equipped, plenty of power, clear sound, bluetooth works great, iPhone app is awesome.
Cons: Set-up menu is a little clucky
Love it. My only complaint is the receiver switches to TV Audio after a few seconds when you turn it on, requiring a remote switch back to CBL/SAT.Your service is tremendous and I highly recommend !!
Unbelievable product for the price. Easy setup with an amazing on tv screen walk through program. The sound is great with Dolby atmos. Thanks Team
Excellent sound quality. Bluetooth to my iPhone has been spotty. Love the internet radio / music streaming functions. Will be getting Denon remote speakers to take advantage of their remote speaker linking features. A great value for my money. Thanks to Crutchfield for great service!
Pros: Sound quality
Its awesome. I bought this for natively playing .FLAC files from my home media server. The compatibility with the .FLAC files streaming from server took a 3rd party software but after it was working the sound quality is five star! The difference in playing them natively on the receiver vs. from the PC is astonishing. The app is an awesome tool too, can completely control the home theater. Plenty of power for any small room and most medium rooms. I can't imagine a better product at this price point.
The Reciever Is Great Sounding, However I`ve Had A Few Calls To Crutchfield For Help. For No Picture & No Sound. The Teck. People Were Very Helpful & Got Me Up & Running Very Fast. Bottom Line The Teck. People are Necessary In Setting Up TheAVR-X1300W
Pros: Works Great
Cons: However Y`All Need The Teck People.....
This a great amp for the price. It does everything and more. I love the internet radio option and the pass through for the TV is perfect for my electronic's challenged girlfriend. All around a great solid system. I highly recommend using the setup mode out of the box and using and storing the mini microphone. It makes the surround sound perfect even when I don't have the ability to setup the speakers in the exact locations they are supposed to be in.
Awesome receiver for the price! Easy set up and great sound. Plenty of outputs for all of my devices as well. Would definitely recommend.
A very nice receiver Great sound and Great value for the money.
Easy programing when HDMI cable attached to TV. Sounds brilliant, user friendly, a real steal for the price. Airplay might just be the coolest invention ever! IOS app works perfectly for me. Does the job and does it well!
Pros: easy set up IOS app/ remote works perfectly Bluetooth music range over 50+ feet
Cons: still in the honeymoon stage! n/a
Excellent receiver! I have it driving Definitive ProCinema 600 speakers and the sound is fantastic; it also pairs well using AirPlay with an iPhone. It's easy to set up, the sound is crystal clear, and it's got a solid physical feel. The only thing I wish is that there was more sound adjustment capability, as far as an EQ or sound stages.
A very nice reciever for my need. Support from crutchfield was also very good
Does exactly what I was looking for. Allows me to run 7.2 or 5.2.2 for Atmos or DTS:X. I am replacing another Denon receiver that I had for the last 7 years. Still going strong, just didn't support 4k. The only thing I wish it had was volume overlay for 4k video. Other than that, the receiver is awesome!
For the price this is a great receiver. Easy to set up and use so far. Just got it so still playing around with it but the basic functions were a breeze to get rolling on. Love the remote.
Pros: Easy to set up and use.
Cons: none so far
Inadequate number of RCA component inputs, only has 1, no phonograph input.
Pros: Internet features are good
Cons: No Bluetooth headphone support
Absolutely love it! Easy set up process and sounds amazing!! Best purchase I've made in a long time!!
Great sound and Great value for the money.
I am certainly not an audio expert, but even for me this receiver was very easy to set up. I think it is a great value for the money, even though I still have a lot of things to learn about it. Tuner reception is really good. So far, very satisfied with this purchase.
broken write out of the box called denon said was common for this model than fix problem or quit selling junk returned to Crutchfield for exchange is not going to be denon
Pros: don't know didn't work out of box
Cons: lack of quality control
Excellent receiver. My previous Denon receiver was almost 20 years old and served me well all that time. However it became rather obsolete with time. My new Denon AVR-X1300W is a big step into the future! Another quality product from Denon. Thank to the folks at Crutchfield. It was a pleasure ordering from them.
Looks great and works well. A little delay on the volume and the Bluetooth sometimes doesn't connect.
Nice unit. Works as advertised. Easy to set up. Friendly and patient help from Tech assistants.
Purchased this to update to 4K compatible receiver. I was pleasantly surprised that I could get a high quality Denon product with Dolby atmos for a reasonable price. The setup menus and included microphone made initial setup a breeze. The receiver breathed new life into my old 5.1 speakers. Next upgrade will be to get speakers for height channels to get the full Dolby Atmos experience.
I'm impressed with the power and clarity this unit has. I'm running 4 Klipsch RM14 book shelf speakers, an older RCA center speaker, and a two older powered subs. This AVR brought these speakers to life! I could not believe how great this unit sounds. I'm hearing nuances in the my music that I've never heard before. Set up is relatively straight forward and easy to do. Fine tuning the unit is very easy; between the on screen menus and the remote control it's a breeze. There is a multitude of connectivity choices as well.
Pros: Excellent value that truly sounds fantastic.
Cons: I wish the on screen menu text was higher quality. It's a little fuzzy to me.
very happy with my new Denon avr-x1300 totally awesome experience with the whole crutchfield team JT did a great job helping me get it all dialed in Best receiver I ever owned, thanks Crutchfield
Products works really well, perfect for my home setup. I love how it is also lower in height than most other receivers. I'm now ready to upgrade to a 4K TV!
Pros: Energy efficient, bluetooth, wifi, ample HDMI, easy to use speaker calibration.
Cons: None so far.
Perfect for our home. The dual zone component makes it great to sit out on the deck and listen to music while a movie is being played inside. We are able to control the playlist via bluetooth. This will come in handy during the spring and summer months working in the yard.
This player is fantastic. It runs 7.1 surround flawlessly. It makes life so much easier with the hdmi pass throughs.
Pros: Good power. 7 channels. WiFi. Apple air play. Bluetooth.
Cons: None as of yet
Denon fan for a while. This unit does not disappoint. Has all the features that I need for a great price.
as with other Demon products I have had this does exactly what it is supposed to do and does it well
I am very pleased with this receiver! It is loaded with features. I love the zone 2 feature, using it for my whole house sound system. This is a pretty sophisticated unit, the users' manual is 265 pages long. The app for Pandora works great, also the internet radio station app. Delivery to FL took only three days. No tax, no delivery charge! Also included was a label kit was very helpful in removing the old receiver and installing the new Denon. Took me about 45 minutes, and the only mistake made was reversing polarity on two of the speakers, which Audyssey picked up! For the price, this is a steal!
Pros: Loaded with features, quick and free delivery, Denon quality.
Cons: rated at 80 watts/channel. 100 would have been nicer, but 80 gets the job done. Huge owners manual.
Crutchfield 5stars shipped fast customer service great Denon 1300 price was good sound and setup good only disappointment was that it doesn't upscale to 4K. I think the difference in wattage was a big enough difference between the 1300 and the 2300
Pros: Price setup sound
Cons: No 4K upscale
Pros: better sound
Fairly happy with it; however Spotify Connect crashes after using it for 30-60 minutes every time. Have no issues with other devices. Small complaint which is why I cannot give it the full 5 stars. I'm able to deal with it; I just use my Nvidia Shield TV instead for Spotify. Still happy with the product, works great. No other issues at this time.
Pros: Great price, easy setup, works
Cons: Spotify Connect crashes consistently after using for 1h+
Enjoying all the features of this receiver...it's very smart! Especially enjoying the internet radio and Bluetooth functions.
Very pleased with this receiver. Great range and depth for a reasonably priced product. The denon app that comes woth it makes it a breeze to use and setup!
Pros: Price. Range, options, multi-zone
Great product and great price
easy set up sounds great outstanding service
Pros: Easy setup great sound
The Denon AVR-X1300W receiver was user-friendly to set up. This was invaluable for someone like me who is not an audiophile! It is loaded with features. Crutchfield expert, Ziggy, was also invaluable and helping me choose the right receiver for my system. Highly recommend both the receiver and Crutchfield!
Quick, easy setup. Clean sound. Unclear documentation on using Zone 2. I've had it for about a week so I've got lots of learning yet.
Great sound. When I set it up, my speakers, ~ 25 years old, sounded as if they had been unlocked. I had a decent Sony receiver that was starting to go as the reason for replacement. Pro's: Sound: Incredibly clear. We were both really amazed. Really should be the # 1 reason you are buying. Connectivity: When I bought this, I really didn't give this much concern as we have an Amazon Fire TV hooked to it. The inclusion of Sirius XM & Internet ratio are awesome. On the Internet radio - the clarity of the broadcast of the music was simply amazing. Power: Lots & crystal clear. Connections: Lots of HDMI & Digital Audio to go around and provide options. Con's: Zone 2 (multi-room audio): I had to call Crutchfield as I was ready to return this as I could not get the Zone 2 working on anything. Individually, it works on Online Music, Internet Radio, iPod, Bluetooth or Pandora connectivity. It does not work, easily, on whatever you are playing on your stereo (ie TV). The work around is you select "option" while playing main (Zone 1) and select "All Zone Stereo" where the source (TV) will play in both Zone 1 & 2. I miss the days of A & B speakers. This is because we have our patio hooked up for music. It really doesn't have to be this complicated. App: It's OK but a bit confusing. A non-tech person would likely have difficulties working successfully. I like this a lot and find it superior to a Yamaha 487
So far it has been a good receiver. I just don't like that I can't control the settings like Treble & Bass but it sounds good.
Pros: Can watch TV with the unit off
Like the Denon, but it shipped without an owner's manual....which tech provided online.
Pros: Variety of features
Cons: complexity of setup
I've had Denon receivers for 20 years. I love the sound and features. It's easy to set up and integrates well with my other remotes. Make sure you have it on a UPS to filter the power.
Pros: Sound, Features, Connectivity
Cons: Very sensitive to voltage spikes and drops
I bought this receiver to replace my 10 year old Onkyo receiver. I must say I like the Wi-Fi and blue tooth features. Also, the image passthrough is much better quality than my old Onkyo. I like the flexibility of being able to tweak your sound. The only place where it dissappoints is the bass. While it does put out enough power, the bass for some reason sounds superficial and it is not room filling like the old Onkyo was. The power is good for small to medium size rooms, but you will want something with more power if you have a larger room. Overall, I would recommend it. It is a great product and for the price, you get A LOT of features!
Pros: Lots of features On screen set up guide
Cons: Not so great bass Need to do a lot of tweaking to get the sound just where you want it. Would like a bluetooth button on the face of the receiver as well as on the remote.
Installation was easy following the setup. I loved the calibration, as it points out any issues with wires (I had changed my +/- and it pointed it out eight away). The back of the receiver clearly identifies where to connect all HDMI components.
Pros: Easy Setup, HDMI connections clearly identify
Great receiver / iOS App / WiFi with easy firmware updates. Great switching for all my HDMI sources to my projector which is a 50 ft. HDMI run. Very clear - sound is top notch and the setup screens are fabulous!! Overall love Denon products. Negative 1 star - wish it had just a little more power.
Pros: Sound Quality is very good / Easy to setup with onscreen setup / easy connectivity with App / Bluetooth / Wifi Updates
Cons: Wish it had a bit more power if you have a good size theater room may want the model up with more power.
I got this to replace a receiver over 15 years old. It was easy to connect every i needed to connect to the Denon AVR-X1300W. The sound that get from it is much better than I had before.
Average listening volume 50 to 55 which is about 50% of scale. Sound goes off at 20 to 25 which means a quarter of the scale is useless. All other equipment I have ever had average listening scale is 20 to 25 with a max of 100. Call to see if the equipment was functioning properly and was told yes but I am not convinced.
Great receiver for the money. On screen setup is a great, setup Mic also. I was amazed at sound and picture improvement from my old receiver. Be sure to get compliant HDMI cables if you are setting up a 4k system.
Pros: Price, features, dual sub output
Sounds great ,but usability and network ability are greatly exaggerated. The app is as bad as the reviews say it is. Crashes frequently locks out features and access to inputs at random. The quick conext buttons on the front reserves one button for the recievers online media so that you can only connect 3 of your inputs to a button on the front. I knew I had four devices I wanted easy access to and would have considered other recievers more strongly if I had known one reserved. It's not hard to access inputs if you scroll through with the front dial, have the remote, or its a working day for the app. I was just looking foreward to something simpler for the family to learn. The reciever usually auto switches to a new input and even let's audio and video pass through to the TV when the reciever is off but it doesnt bat a 1000 with that function and I haven't figured out why it sometimes does sometimes doesnt see an activated input. Denon's app has been pourly reviewed for so long. They won't do anything about it until people stop buying their product. If network connect ability is what you want I would shop the reviews of the apps themselves before you buy, and don't assume your experience will be different. It's also worth a note that many services restrict the accounts and number of devices that can connect. For example Spotify requires a premium account in order to connect to a reciever or even Roku.
Loving this receiver so far. Have my system set up as a 5.1.2 Atmos. Upgraded from a few years old Pioneer 5 .1 receiver. This Denon just sounds better in every way. Dialogue is clearer and surround effects are more profound. The Atmos sounds amazing, as does the up scaling with Neural X. Now every movie takes on a whole new level of sound. Audyssey is easy to calibrate in up to 8 seating positions. Receiver did an over the air update after set up and went flawlessly over Wi-Fi. My room is about 12 x 20 and this has more than enough power to fill my room. Very Happy!!
Pros: Ease of setup, sound, features
Cons: Didn't get it sooner
Excellent product. Easy setup
Excelente equipo, la calidad del sonido es muy buena, muy fácil de ajustar, en realidad fue una buena compra
I love the technology this unit is above what I expected. Bluetooth and wifi make operations so simple. Every thing I have questions about after the purchase Crutchfield has answered!!
I'm very happy with the AVR-X1300W. Speaker calibration and wireless connectivity was simple. Movies and sporting events come to life with my 7.1 channel set up. Only regret was not prewiring for a second zone.
The DenonAVR-X1300W did everything and then some . I love it!!!
Pros: Set up on the TV was easy and the sound is great with my system.
Easy to setup and sounds great.
Works great! Plenty of power. Very happy with this purchase.
This is a great receiver. Wonderful sound, easy set up. Seems to have better compatibility with other devices that are connected via HDMI than my previous receiver. I'd buy it again!
Pros: Great sound, Audyssy mic balances the room's acoustics with the speakers. Improved remote.
Cons: Wants to default to TV versus Cable setting during start-up. Requires using remote to redirect.
The Denon AVER - X1300W produces great sound. I was amazed at the difference between it and the Yamaha that it replaced. There is no comparison. This unit is easily installed and simple to configure. Very happy with this purchase
I am very pleased with this receiver. It has enough power to fulfill the majority of basic home set ups. The bluetooth works flawlessly and easily connects to devices. There are two issues that I found, but they do not affect my enjoyment of the product. 1. The receiver has ARC (audio return channel). If you have no input into the TV other than the receiver, you need to disable the ARC in the menu...otherwise it confuses the receiver and it keeps trying to get a signal that is not there. This occurred with mine because I have no TV/Cable/Satellite input to TV. 2. If you are using a CD compoment optical player...this will not work on the zone B unless you "start" the all channel play mode...then it will drive the zone 2/zone B speakers. Very happy overall! Great price on a great product. Can't say enough about Crutchfield team.
The primary use for this unit is listening to music; on-line, CDs, records. The Wi-Fi function is turned on (as opposed to a wire), when listening to on-line music (Pandora) it tends to drop out and I have to re-tag the the unit using the Pandora app. I have had the same experience when using on-line radio. Music from the DVD/CD player works fine. I would like to adjust the treble and bass, but I am finding it difficult to locate in the on-line User's Manual. Set-up was easy, Denon did a nice job with the step-by-step. The Denon app. is easy to use and convenient.
Pros: Easy Set-up Convenient App
Cons: Wi-Fi is inconsistant
Great customer service and very happy with the Denon. Product installed easily with labels provided. Great sound and not as complicated as the receiver we replaced.
Easy setup, works great.
Purchased a dent and scratch. It was fine for a while and then started randomly shutting itself off, the power light flashed red. Returned for credit.
Cons:Crutchfield response on 7/14/2017 Thanks for the review. We thoroughly test our Scratch and Dent gear, so we're sorry that this receiver didn't work properly. Since all Outlet items are covered by our 60-day return policy and full manufacturer's warranty, our Technician Cliff has sent the customer a replacement.
Very pleased about my new purchase. Receiver replaced my 7 year old Yamaha. Great sound and features. This is my first Denon so far I'm outstandingly pleased. Had a couple small issues while programming. Called Crutchfield Tech Support on two occasions. Helped resolve both issues. One of the main reasons I bought this unit at Crutchfield versus other vendors.
Pros: Great sound Great features Great looks
Cons: Just a couple of minor issues during install.
great sound, easy set up. I'm very happy so far.......
This is a great unit. Connected my Dish Hopper, Sony Blu-ray, WD-TVLive, Sonos Connect to it with the output going to my Sony Bravia TV. Turn on any of the devices and the X1300 comes on automatically. Volume is then controlled through the devices remote. Works great with the Home Theater Direct in-Wall/Ceiling speakers and powered sub-woofer I installed in the room. Overall I am very happy with the X1300. This is my second Denon Home Theater unit in the past 4 years. The first has been operating flawlessly for that time so when I needed a second unit I went back to Denon.
Pros: Cost, versatility, power, compatibility...
This is my second one in 2 weeks, the first one had a connector problem. No problem with return and replacement turnaround. FAST. Works great. I have purchased many products from Crutchfield and always satisfied.
Pros: Great product and Crutchfield is a great company.
Cons: none at this time.
I have a 2,700sqft work shop that I put this receiver in and coupled it with Polk Audio TSi200 & the Klipcsh R-125W. The sound from the system is great and fills the entire work area.
Pros: Easy to use, intuitive
Cons: Requires a TV to configure the audio settings
Not for the faint of heart, unit does require some expertise for set up...sound is exceptional
Cons: extremely complicated but it works
This is a really nice full featured home theater receiver that is easy to install and operate. Of course, it must also have excellent sound and it does. I bought this Denon receiver as part of a full redo of my former 5.1 system to a 7.1 system. The sound quality, spaciousness and sound stage have been dramatically improved. This unit provide a lot of performance for the money
I had not updated my audio equipt for 20 years, but this is an excellent AVR. Easy to hook up, Audyssey is excellent and it has that Denon sound. I'm very happy with this budget purchase.
Pros: Sound, hook up, Audyssey, price.
Cons: None so far
Works exactly as described, easy set up, we are very happy with it! Our advisors were super helpful with choosing the new right products, making good use of existing products, and setting everything up! Very glad we ordered from Crutchfield!
After purchasing an LG Oled to replace my aging Kuro I decided it was time to upgrade my receiver as it could not pass a 4K signal. I waited and read several articles both online and in magazines before taking the plunge. This receiver is replacing another Denon and that receiver replaced a Denon before that. Needless to say I am a fan of Denon. Like most Denon receivers the setup of this receiver is extremely easy. The graphical user interface is plain and quite ugly looking but it gets the job done nonetheless. I found audyssey set up to be spot on with all of the speaker measurements but needed to tweak channel levels with my trusty almost 25 year old analog sound pressure level meter as they were off by more than just a little bit. Thanks Crutchfield for another solid purchase!
Pros: Excellent sound Attractive finish Supports latest audio and visual formats.
Cons: Audyssey needs tweaking Remote control is cheap feeling.
Awesome. Sounds great
The setup was super simple by using the cable labels to label wires as I disconnected from old receiver. The on screen guide made things a breeze for speaker calibration with the included microphone. Really makes those 4K UHD Blurays really come to life. After a few tweaks using the free app may never go to the movie theater again.
I am new to home theater receivers so I purchased this on the recommendation from a friend and the price. I was not let down The setup is so easy that anyone can do it. It takes you through step by step and tells you exactly what to do and when to do it. 4K pass through works very well. No noticeable loss in picture quality.
Pros: Easy set up Great sound and picture quality
Very pleased with the audio streaming music and playing movies.
Pros: Sound quality and picture quality. Ease of setup.
Very pleased with this purchase. Updated from my 6 yr. old Denon AVR-2311CI with no complaints and swift installation and setup. The Setup Assistant walks you through the paces, I believe, easily enough for the newcomer, and experienced techies can breeze through. The UI is somewhat disappointing for 2017, but the onscreen display of the volume and Eco (energy saver) monitor looks nice enough while viewing an HD source. The sound is perfect Denon, crisp, clear, and clean, when paired with my Martin Logan Motion Series speakers and Definitive Technology Supercube II subwoofer. Plenty of features for the price tag, plus the best sounding receiver brand in my opinion. Thanks to Wolf and Maverick for help finding the right continuation of my Denon love affair.
Pros: Clean sound, easy to use interface, nice feature set, good value for the money.
Cons: UI is a bit outdated, some distortion at high volume.
Bought this as an upgrade to my 20 year old receiver. I have it connected to my Klipsch front speakers, sub-woofer, and center. Hope to get rear speakers soon. Sound is great. Set up was easy.
Pros: easy set up
Easy interface, good power, precise sound.
Had surround sound installed in my family room and using the Denon as part of the system. Surround sound has made such a difference.
I made this purchase based on the recommendation of my sales advisor after my Onkno receiver failed and I'm glad that I did. Easy to set up due to the built-in setup routine, crisp and clear sound and easy to understand guide provided.
My first Denon. Great power plant for the price. The AVR 1300 is very easy to use an integrate into your home theater system and customer service was great when I ran into set up issues that I did not understand. The remote has so much more functionality that one would know at first glance, and makes it super easy to test and switch settings. I f you are not an audiophile but still love great acoustics with ease of operation, I strongly suggest. My Crutchfield sales advisor was super helpful and knew exactly how to guide me to the model that was right for me
Great receiver! Very simple guided setup.
Pros: Sound Setup Features
Cons: On screen GUI
The smart features are awesome. It was a breeze to set up the wi-fi and in minutes I was listening to streaming services and internet radio. Using the 4K output on the receiver also improved the picture clarity on my TV. Talk about easy to use, the iPad app from Denon is now my remote. Everything works seamlessly. Was thinking of getting one of those high end blue tooth speakers to stream music. Don't bother, the Denon sounds so much better and does everything blue tooth you'll need. The receiver even has 2 room outputs. I can say from experience, spend the money, get the receiver and a set of speakers. You never regret buying quality!
Pros: Easy to use, set up. Sounds great. 2 Room speaker set up. Denon App for iPad Blue tooth connections WI-Fi set up easy. Auto update on software by Wi-FI
Cons: Display is a little hard to read if your too far away. To correct keep TV on to see on screen menus.
Great receiver. Purchased this mainly for the 2 zone / 2 source interface. First week the app continually crashed, but an update must have solved that issue since it no longer crashes. Very happy with the product, price and expedient shipping
Pros: Sound 2 zone / 2 source capability
Cons: None once app bugs were worked out.
Very happy with this receiver. It was very easy to set up. Even though I've done this many times before, the on-screen guided setup was still really nice, and probably the best I've ever seen. You got immediate feedback on whether things were properly hooked up, which was helpful given the tight space I was working in. The speaker calibration also worked great. I had started listening for a few days before running the calibration, and after doing it the sound was really well balanced. I was glad that I could tweak the dialog a bit, as that was a little light in my setup, but I think that has to do with my own room acoustics and personal preferences. I mostly use this for home theater, and it works great. But I also have enjoyed the internet radio and streaming music from my phone. The front HDMI input is great for plugging a video game system in and out easily.
Pros: Great sound, super easy setup, good speaker calibration
Cons: Front screen display isn't that clear. Looks like it is trying to display the sound mode and input source, but ends up not really showing either one fully. Maybe there is a setting I can toggle but I haven't found it.
Sound quality is excellent and vary easy to use
For the money and free shipping I paid this amp is very very good. Of the last 4 amps I have bought 3 of them have been Denon. The last amp was a Harmon Kardon which was good but the video pass through went out. This amp sounds better and was was cheaper than it. The past Denon amps also where in the same price range. The reason I gave myself the restriction of a lower budget is in the past each time I bought an amp I was telling myself " I am spending this ridiculous amount of money but it will last me 10 years" the truth is amps need replaced every 5 in my cycle so I choose to spend less and not feel so bad the next time. I was so pleasantly surprised with this thing. I am using JBL Es 90's and 80's with matching center and middle rear surrounds.
I love this so much
Great receiver and ease setup . I have only a few weeks I love it
I've only been using this for a few weeks but so far am impressed. Setup was trouble free. Just order audio quest G2 speaker cable with On:Q Banana Plugs hope to receive a better sound
Pros: Easy setup
Great receiver, nothing to complain about!!
Pros: Ease of setup and use.
Love this AVR 1300 easy on screen setup.
Pros: Easy to use
Great product. Exactly what I was looking for.
Ok receiver for a SMALLER room. I have a new Samsung Smart TV SUHD, Occasionally The small remote that comes with the TV will not let you change cable TV channels. The TV goes threw the receiver, as per directions. So you have go back to Samsung set up to fix the remote. Never had this issue with my old receiver. So the Smart TV and the Smart Denon Receiver. do not communicate correctly all the time
Big improvement from my Onkyo 630 series unit which this replaces. Takes a little time to learn the menus but easy to operate after that. Great sound . Glad I purchased this unit. Crutchfield tech support was very helpful even with the simplest of questions.
Great receiver sounds great. In my opinion it lacks some power but set up and speaker calibration was easy and helps if you have a odd layout In your theater room. My Crutchfield adviser was very helpful.
Pros: Easy setup. Nice upgrade.
Cons: Cheap remote. A little low on power.
Awesome sound. Setup was amazingly simple
Pros: Easy setup.
Cons: Wish a printed copy of manual was enclosed.
This receiver has some great features. Plenty of HDMI ports, 7.2 channels, blue tooth, wi fi, etc. I like the Audyssey sourround sound feature that sets the speaker tones for you. Great sound direction, you can literally step 4-5' outside of the listening area or zone and hear/feel the difference. You don't have full control over the EQ and you have to setup each port and channel for the receiver to work. You can't simply plug an HDMI cable in and start using.
Pros: Great sound features, great video, plenty of HDMI ports
Cons: You don't have full control over the EQ and you have to setup each port and channel for the receiver to work. You can't simply plug an HDMI cable in and start using.
Great product and price! Easy to set up and use.
Polished specs. Fully featured with long list of functions. At first the sound is impressive but after a while it's wearing with it's zippy balance. It's missing the gravitas of the aging Marantz it replaced. While it proudly displays Spotify logo - there is no Spotify direct...??? Yes it is rather inexpensive but it really shows in the construction especially the flimsy plastic front controls. Partnered with $3K+ loudspeakers this Denon shows it's simply inadequate. But that's my own mistake for being cheap!!! Should have shell out for a better receiver. Perhaps partnered with inexpensive speakers like Elac it would have been a better fit.
Pros: Inexpensive Gets the job done in a pinch Handles 4 Ohm speakers - most (99%) receivers in this price category don't!!! Light - easy to maneuver around Reduced height and depth - fits better in existing cabinetry Educational - taught me a lesson not to be a cheapskate
Cons: Inexpensive No Spotify Connect Zippy bright sound (unnatural) Has to be carefully partnered with speakers Flimsy, cheap plastic controls
I am a little new to home theater systems. I have always had big stereo's in my vehicles though. I paired this receiver with some Klipsch speakers and it sounds amazing! I am still learning about some of the features but I am very pleased with what I got for the money.
I've only been using this for a few weeks but so far am impressed. Setup was trouble free. Sound is exceptional. Firmware update for DTS-XBOX and Pandora went without a hitch. Internet radio is a fun plus.
Pros: Easy setup. Good PDF manual. Great sound.
Cons: None so far.
Excellent as usual for Denon. The setup was a snap.

Note: The receiver's USB port cannot be used with a USB hub or computer.
Built-in Bluetooth: The Denon AVR-X1300W features built-in Bluetooth (version 2.1+EDR) with support for wireless music streaming (A2DP 1.2) and control (AVRCP 1.4). You'll be able to wirelessly connect to Apple iPod/iPhone/iPad, Android smartphones/tablets, Windows Phone/PC, Mac computers/laptops and other Bluetooth-enabled devices. Up to eight Bluetooth devices can be remembered by the AVR-X1300W, so family members as well as friends can enjoy their favorite tracks (only one device can be used at a time).
Note: Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Denon AV receiver.
iPod/iPhone Connectivity: The Denon AV receiver offers wired (via USB) and wireless (via AirPlay) connectivity for your Apple iPod, iPhone, or iPad. You can even watch video from select Apple devices via the receiver's front-panel HDMI input.
Note: Your Apple iPod/iPhone's battery will be charged while connected to the receiver (max. 1A). This unit will not charge the iPad.
Apple Device Compatibility Chart: The Denon AVR-X1300W is "made for iPod/iPhone" and supports the following iPod/iPhone model functions (as of 9/15/2016).
|Apple Device||Generation||Tested Version||Connector Type||Media Type||Control Type||Display Type||Charge|
|USB||Bluetooth||AirPlay||Audio||Video||Remote||iPod/iPhone||Album Art||Artist/Song Text||Track Info|
Note: Apple iPod/iPhone software updates may change functionality results. If you download a newer software version, you may need to reset the unit and your iPod/iPhone to regain functionality. If this doesn't work, you may need to wait until a newer software update is available.
Zone 2: Zone 2 allows stereo audio playback of another source connected to the receiver in another room of your home via RCA line-level output or speaker-level output. When using the AVR-X1300W to power speakers in a second room of your home, the main zone is restricted to 5.1-channels. When using the receiver's line output terminals for the second room you need an additional amplifier to power your Zone 2 speakers; the main Zone of the receiver remains 7.1-channel. The volume of Zone 2 can be controlled by the Denon receiver using either configuration or from your add-on amplifier when using the line-output.
Note: Unfortunately, you cannot select USB and Network sources exclusively for each Zone. For example, if you select a network source for Zone 2 when a USB source is selected for the Main Zone, the input source in the Main Zone also switches to the same network source as Zone 2 (this scenario also includes Bluetooth).
All Zone Stereo Function: The All Zone Stereo function allows you to enjoy the AV receiver's Main Zone audio source in Zone 2 simultaneously (regardless of input audio signal types; analog or digital). During the All Zone Stereo mode, only the "Multi Ch Stereo" and "Stereo" sound modes can be selected. You will have independent volume control in each zone. All Zone Stereo mode is useful when you want to enjoy the same music at the same time in multiple rooms during a get together or party.
HEOS Multiroom Compatible: Thanks to the AV receiver's network and IP control capability, it can be integrated into Denon's HEOS whole home audio system via the HEOS Link (sold separately) and the HEOS app for Apple iOS (7.0+) & Android OS (2.3+). The HEOS Link connects to the AV receiver's Zone 2 preouts and a set of stereo RCA inputs or optical digital input on the receiver. Now, you can send the receiver's Zone 2 audio to other HEOS speakers in different rooms of your home, as well as play back audio from other HEOS devices through the AV receiver. From the app on your mobile device, you'll be able to control the Denon receiver along with other Denon HEOS gear and listen to music throughout your home. The HEOS wireless multi-room sound system by Denon can support up to 32 HEOS products (sold separately) on a single wireless network.
Note: The Denon AV receiver only allows one IP connection for control. If the receiver is already being controlled by a 3rd party control system via IP, then the HEOS Link will not be able to control it.
AVR Remote App: The new Denon AVR Remote App lets you control the Denon AV receiver using your Apple (iOS 7.0) or Android (OS 4.0+) device. From this free app on your compatible Apple iOS or Android device, you'll be able to control the Denon AV receiver's basic functions; such as power, volume, input, surround modes, and other settings. You'll also be able to control separate Zones of the receiver, as well as navigate the AV receiver's network and Internet content from the app. In addition, you get you get unique features likes a landscape orientation control screen for tablet devices, the ability to create playlists, and control over a Denon Blu-ray player.
Note: This AV receiver is not compatible with last year's older Denon Remote App.
IR Remote: The Denon AVR-X1300W comes with an IR remote for wireless operation of the AV receiver. The AVR-X1300W's can also be used to control select external audio/video components connected via HDMI which support HDMI control.
HDMI-CEC: When you make an HDMI connection with a TV or Blu-ray player compatible with the AVR-X1300W's HDMI control function, you can perform the operations from the AVR-X1300W's remote control; Power off, Switching of audio output devices, Switching of audio input devices, Volume adjustment, and Playback functions.
Smart TV Control: When you connect the AVR-X1300W to your Smart TV, you have the option of controlling the AVR-X1300W via the TV's remote control which lets you select an input, adjust the volume and choose the surround sound mode. The receiver and your TV must be connected via HDM with the HDMI-CEC function activated on both components.
OSD w/ Setup Assistant (via HDMI): With Denon's on-screen menu and setup assistant, you can connect, configure, and use your home theater system with ease. The OSD and setup assistant features clear on-screen graphics and text that optimizes critical system settings for your particular home theater setup. The on-screen menu and setup assistant can be output to your TV via HDMI only. If you connect the receiver to your television via only composite video, you will need to use the AV receiver's front-panel display for menu and source adjustments.
- Initial setup requires that the receiver be connected to your TV via HDMI for display of the on-screen menu. Many of the receiver's setup functions can only be found via the on-screen menu and not the front-panel display.
- The video being played will not appear in the background of the menu when the menu is operated during playback of 4K or 3D video, or if the video aspect ratio is not 16:9 or 4:3.
Quick Select: On the AVR-X1300W's front-panel, you'll find four Quick Select buttons that let you quickly choose from the most popular input sources; the ergonomically designed remote also includes Quick Select function buttons. With Quick Select, the AVR-X1300W remembers not only your preferred inputs but also your preferred audio settings, so you can enjoy precisely tailored sound with each one.
Gapless Playback: Many live and classical albums have no gaps in the music. Gapless playback ensures that there are no pauses between audio files. This provides playback with no interruptions, the way it was meant to be heard. Compatible with WAV and FLAC music files via USB or DLNA.
Keyword Search: You can also search Internet Radio, USB, and DLNA content using keyword searches from the AV receiver's on-screen menu and remote control.
Input Name & Delete: You can change the display name (up to 8 characters) of a selected input source. If an input isn't being used, you can delete it from the display so you don't have to scroll past it when you change sources.
Slide Shows/Picture View: You can play back still image (JPEG) files stored on a USB memory device or media server and pictures on Flickr website as a slide show. The display time can also be set. You can also play back music and a favorite picture at the same time via USB, Internet Radio, or Media Server.
Sleep Timer + Auto Standby: The Denon AV receiver features a programmable Sleep Timer and Auto Standby function. The Sleep Timer allows you to automatically set the power to standby after a predetermined amount of time has passed; set the sleep timer up to 120 minutes in 10 minute increments. The unit enters Standby mode automatically when no commands are sent to the unit for the set time (15/30/60 minutes). Before it enters the standby mode, "Auto Standby" is displayed on the front-panel display of this unit and the on-screen menu.
ECO Mode: This receiver is equipped with an ECO Mode function that allows you to enjoy music and movies while reducing the power consumption during use, Eco mode adjusts the maximum power available according to the volume level selected to reduce power consumption.
Personal Memory Plus: For each input, the receiver automatically memorizes the settings for input mode, surround mode, HDMI output mode, audio delay, etc. When the input source is switched, the settings last used for that source are automatically recalled. The surround parameters, tone control settings, and playback levels for the different output channels are memorized for each surround mode.
Protection Circuit: This is a function to prevent damage to components within the power supply when an abnormality such as an overload, excess voltage, or over-heating occurs. In this unit, the power indicator blinks and the unit enters standby mode when an abnormality occurs.

Top Seller list and great low price. [ Kevin Dec 24, 2017 ]
Between the 7.2 Channels I was looking at - after speaking with advisors as well - I determined with a longer warranty and the same or more features as a close Onkyo or Sony, it also had a longer warranty and I was told it was part of a high quality line that is used for more ramped up audio set ups. Seemed like it was a heavier duty option for the price. [ Abigail Dec 24, 2017 ]

Great value in a Denon receiver. Most of the features of the 1400 without HEOS, which I do not plan on using for $150 less. Bluetooth streaming is critical and will play with WiFi connectivity. Also, with 7:2 setup, and capability to set rear surround as a 2nd Zone of speakers. Very versatile. Hope that I am not disappointed... [ Myrton Dec 20, 2017 ]

I saw a glowing review in an online publication called "Trusted Reviews". Sound and Vision Magazine reviewed an older version of the product an also gave it high marks, especially in the power measurements. Also, I once owned a terrific Denon receiver (4800), a power amp (5200) and still own a very good dvd/dvd audio/sacd combo player. Finally, the price is good. [ Miguel R. Dec 11, 2017 ]
Because the price was right, and I needed a receiver that could handle a low impedance rated speaker. I build my own speakers, and this was the offer I was looking for!! Have heard a lot of great things about Denon as well. [ ROBERT Dec 11, 2017 ]
Price and all options i wanted [ JENNIFER ANN Dec 11, 2017 ]
I bought this after looking long at hard at other receiver options. I bought the Onkyo TX-SR373, but I didn't want to do without at least the ability to bi-amp my front speakers. I really wanted to add some Polk OWM3 speakers instead, to try the Atmos DTS:X. I'm hoping it does well as a ceiling reflected option. This amp had a good balance of price (1/2 off MSRP) and features (6 HDMI and 7.2.2) and AirPlay. [ AARON Dec 11, 2017 ]
Reviews online convinced me this was the best bang for buck at your sale of 299 [ Lizeth Del Dec 10, 2017 ]

Appropriately powered for my small living room, and the quick-access buttons for the different inputs on the front of the receiver. So frustrated with the lack of knobs and buttons on modern AV receivers. I have a separate, vintage system in another room for dedicated music listening, and when I go to watch a movie or listen to music on my living room system really miss being able to just walk up to the unit and press a button to get the input I want. Thank you, Denon for giving us buttons! [ Joseph Nov 14, 2017 ]

The Denon AVR-X3000 receiver I bought a couple years ago does not support DirecTV 4K receiver output which requires HDCP 2.2. Rats! So that is part of the risk of being an early adopter. The 4K looks great on the Sony 65" TV we bought at the same time. First time since we bought it that we've seen 4K. [ Robert Jan 02, 2017 ]

This receiver has the components that I desired, verified officially after consulting with Levi on the phone: AirPlay, WiFi, powered multi-zone control, >4 HDMI inputs and future-proofing w/ ATMOS. It's price-point is also reasonable. It does not have a dedicated phone input, however, so I also purchased a pre-amp; the receivers with phone pre-amps were mostly above my price ability, even after the purchase of the external phone pre-amp. [ Justin Nov 25, 2016 ]

You would just need the app on your phone or tablet. [ Bryan Dec 21, 2017 ]
It works directly from phone or tablet. Just have to be connected via Bluetooth. Don't need to use your phone to control which is nice. [ Ryan Dec 21, 2017 ]
I have no problems individually controlling the Denon, TV, cable box, or BluRay. Having said that I use an older universal remote control. Your question suggests to me that you are using a newer, smart, universal remote with one touch TV viewing; i.e., pressing one button turns on the TV, cable box, and AVR. If this is the case, can you reprogram the remote so the AVR is not part of the equation when powering the TV? [ Tom Dec 14, 2017 ]
Joe I'm not really sure what your asking, I turn on the denon and then my TV/ cable box and all works fine that way. I then after, I turn off both and it shuts off. I have had several updates to my denon as its picked up my wyfi router when I first got it. [ Rick Dec 12, 2017 ]
If you prefer to use a wired network connection to your router, you can use Ethernet cable: https://www.crutchfield.com/g_355150/Ethernet-Cables.html?tp=46856 The Denon also features built-in Wi-Fi so, it can stream wirelessly as well. [ Ryan Dec 13, 2017 ] Staff

Most all of the networkable models (including this Denon) support streaming SiriusXM via an online or "all access" subscription service. When connected to your home network, you can also control the receiver using the Denon Remote app for your compatible devices (smartphone, tablet) on the same network. [ Ryan Nov 30, 2017 ] Staff
Hello john yes this unit you can adjust the tone without using the TV display. On this unit you have multiple choices ie. Audissy (sets it for you) or my favorite adjustable eq. Anything you want to adjust shows on the front screen, hope that helps. [ David Nov 07, 2017 ]
This receiver has a self diagnostic tool that adjusts to the room on setup which is great. And if you need to change the levels afterwards it is a quick button on the remote that lets you control from there. [ kevin Nov 07, 2017 ]
Very few off the shelf modern receivers offer tone controls, if that is what you mean. Almost all will require adjustment of EQ either through an app or on screen display. There are some integrated amplifiers that may still incorporate tone controls in the amplifier faceplate. [ Michael Nov 07, 2017 ]
The speakers listed are highly efficient 8 Ohm speakers, thus the Denon amplifier would be more than adequate to power the system. [ Michael Oct 03, 2017 ]
Good power match, should sound great [ gary Sep 29, 2017 ]
The receiver delivers 80 watts per channel. Your sub is powered so that doesn't matter, the RP150M's handle 75 watts continuous, the reference RC-62II handles 150 watts continuous. So you are a little low with the RC62's if you want use everything your speakers are capable of, but if you go to a reciver that has 150 watts rms you have the possibility of blowing your RP150's. I have this receiver and it's the best one I have had since my 1990's onkyo. It's all preference, I have polk audio surround sound speakers and it gets plenty loud for me......guess it depends if you want to wear hearing protection when you watch movies ;-) [ MARK Sep 29, 2017 ]
It just receives blue tooth [ David Sep 11, 2017 ]
Transmit to what? For what purpose? It does communicate with other Denon devices but not through Bluetooth. The newest versions might. [ JerryMc Sep 11, 2017 ]
Yes but I was only able to connect one device at a time. The first device locks all devices out until disconnected. Honestly I dont like this receiver. I have a new Yamaha and it's way easier to use Sound setup is easy and everyone in the house can use it too. The denon you have to really learn and if your speaker setup is not great but then it doesn't sound as nice. [ eric Jul 17, 2017 ]
I connected my Denon AVR-X1300 to Bose speakers and they sound great. Can't see why you can't connect to Hero's. Best ask Crutchfield. [ Rick Jun 19, 2017 ]
Yes. [ Frann Jun 21, 2017 ]
Yes, i recommended because it work fine in my home theatre with 1 pair Bose 301 as a main, 1 pair Bose 201 as surround back, 1 sub Klisch and the center Polk. Have a great choice. [ Thang Hong Jun 19, 2017 ]
Yes you sure can, mine is set up for 5.1 also getting great sounds hope this helps [ Joe Jun 18, 2017 ]
Yes, I drive a 5.1 system and use the other 2 channels as zone 2 for my 2 pool deck speakers. [ Conrad Jun 18, 2017 ]
Yes, during the setup process the calibration will be able to read how many speakers there are and adjust accordingly. I use it as a 6.1 [ William Jun 18, 2017 ]
Hey Jarrett, the rating is 120 watts per channel, but that generally refers to what you will get running two speakers, not 5 or 7. This receiver provides 70-80 per channel to 5 channels. Go online and search for "bench test" or "test bench" plus the name of the receiver, and you will find where audio mags have tested receivers and posted results for multiple configurations. I found the 70-80 online for the AVR -x1200w, which I am assuming is comparable. [ James Jun 04, 2017 ]
I looked through the manual and did not see any functionality where you could only mute a subset of all connected speakers. That would be a cool feature, though. It looks like muting works only with all speakers. I've not used the mobile App so I can't help there. [ Greg May 28, 2017 ]
Yes you can control the speaker arrangement with the app... [ gary May 24, 2017 ]
Hi Oliver, Yes there is a microphone input on the right front side. This is used for the audyssey sound calibration setup. It may work with the karaoke but I cannot confirm. There are multiple connections on this unit. There are HDMI and Composite connections on the back as well as HDMI and USB connections on the front. Depending on what connection you need for your karaoke amplifier these may work. Hope this helps, Wade [ Wade May 01, 2017 ]
It's 110V only [ THANH VAN May 03, 2017 ]
No it is not.120V 60 Hz only [ Gregory May 01, 2017 ]
You can use an HDMI input on the back of your TV, audio will feed back to your Demon, otherwise you can use the Denon's input. If you do it would be dedicated unless you unplug it when you want to game, you can use any of the open HDMIs regardless of label [ gary Apr 24, 2017 ]
I don't have an Apple TV but would try any of your available HDMI inputs. If you are concerned about loosing a game connection, maybe use the "Game" port as a last resort with the Apple TV. I don't know if any of the labelled HDMI inputs "need" to be connected to equipment with the same label (i.e. a DVD might work connected to CBL/SAT, but it might be confusing when selecting what input you want to watch). [ Greg Apr 23, 2017 ]
You can connect it to any available HDMI input; doesn't matter. [ Robert Apr 23, 2017 ]
There are 5 HDMI inputs so you can use them however you'd like. There is one labeled Media you could use you Apple TV with if you are worried about your game input. However if you have more then 5 devices you are out of luck with this receiver. [ MARK Apr 23, 2017 ]
It does have a second amplifier hook up that is called Zone 2. You can run it together or completely separate. [ Paul Apr 21, 2017 ]
Short answer is yes, you can use the rear speaker line level output (also called zone 2) as a pre-amp to connect to your Amp and therefore drive more speakers. Make sure you set the zone 2 to line level and turn up the volume on zone 2 so your Amp is getting full level. Also set zone2 to reference (or input source) and crank up your Amp and enjoy. I hope this will help you it sounds confusing but it's easy. I've got mine that way and its hooked to a 200 watt outlaw Amp, literally shakes the pictures on the walls (awesome) [ David Apr 21, 2017 ]
Go to DENON website and view the owners manual for this product. [ Gregory May 02, 2017 ]
hello randy sorry it took so long for me to reply i was over the road, as for my understand from denon support it is possible. that was my idea too but havent got to fully set it up yet due to work. dave. [ David Feb 20, 2017 ]
2016 model with all updates. 2017 models will not be out until after CES show is over....... PROBABLY NOT UNTIL MUD MARCH, SO YOUR GOING TO SCORE A GREAT PRICEE ON THESE MODELS SO THEY CAN REDUCE THEIR INVENTORY TO MAKE ROOM FOR THE NEW MODELS, I CANNOT SEE THE 2017 MODELS HAVING THAT MUCH MORE THEN THE 2016 MODELS.
